You don't really get to have more than one 'great goodbye' but that was epic from Henry for another goodbye in a huge result, back into the top 4 and Chelsea not exactly looking like they'll chase you down. Liverpool may be more of a threat and that's a couple of huge games with Spuds and Liverpool away too

As I mentioned before we have Tottenham in the next league game whereas the week after that we have liverpool while spuds play united then adter that spurs face a tricky away game at goodison. It seems all the top teams are playing each other recently and it can only be good for us because if we beat the two I referred to and they all take points off one another.

..................Almunia.................

Sagna......Gallas....Senderos.....Clichy

Eboue......Flamini.....Fabregas......Hleb

........................Diaby....................

........................Adebayor..........

That was the team that played Milan away in 08,

the team that will play on wednesday will proably be

.........................Szczesny........................

Sagna........Koscielny.....Vermaelan........Gibbs

............Arteta..........Song.............Rosicky.........

Walcott....................RVP................Chamberlain

I would say that 2012 team is better defensivley and in the attack, I can see us winning there, but they'll proably score aswell though

It is obviously debatable, but I think the biggest difference is in the midfield, especially in terms of dynamism. Flimini was working on the whole pitch like crazy while both Diaby/Cesc (even if it wasn't the best Cesc yet) were more likely to get into the box, run through the middle than our current midfielders.

And I think Ramsey will play.

I would say Flamini was better defensivley than Song, also how has Ibra been anyone know? I think he is the white Adebayor, in the way they can be unplayable but inconsistant and lazy. Also Ramsey has to play - at least he wants to shoot

Scored 15 league goals so far and has been instrumental in Milan's play but goes missing in games against the likes of Inter and Juventus, so usual really. Also been suspended in Serie A for slapping someone, whether that will effect his performance I don't know.

Well, I was about to post that he is not playing all that well there, ofc he probably is still a better option than Ignasi. And he indeed doesn't look all that happy, especially in recent games. He looked less committed than usually.

Some good news (Hopefully, but its goal.com so proably fake) http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/02/12/2901110/arsenals-jack-wilshere-could-return-to-action-in-march

And Wenger's quotes on Per: Yet Wenger said: "I thought about it after the goal, but you cannot demand that. You don't know whether the guy has gone down because of injury or if he has slipped.

"We were unfortunate because Mertesacker told me he got pain in his ankle and couldn't move.

"We are a bit worried about it because he goes home on crutches and he's done some ligament damage.

"How deep the damage, we have to check. But, for sure, he is out for Wednesday."

Anyone know the current injury situation at AC Milan? Just checked their team out from yesterday and no sign of Pato, Ibrahimovic, Flamini or Boateng.

Flamini's been out since August with an ACL injury - not in the CL squad list. Ibrahimovic was banned, he'll be back. Boateng and Pato have both been out for the past month or so - Allegri says they should be back in time for Wednesday. Interesting aspect is whether they will actually start the game considering the length of their absence, or whether they'll be on the bench.

The squad as a whole has been destroyed by injuries - that's just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

Ibra probably missing due to suspension, Boateng - wasn't he expected to miss our game a long time ago already (the too much sex thing)? I am not a specialist in Italian football though so expect a more accurate answer.

Shame Gerv won't be available for some time now, by which I mean he won't be ready. You could say it is good when their team is either knocked out early (they get back soon) or win the whole thing (morale etc) so for Gerv it was the worst possible scenario, but that is just speculation.

Besides, he's only 2nd choice for this position now ;)

Was just looking for a couple of goals on Youtube (Justin Hoyte vs Charlton and Eboue's first goal for us vs Sunderland in League Cup - both which I couldn't find) and I found a video of Hoyte scoring for England U-21 with the top comment from 4 years ago reading:

justin hoyte iz going 2 take gary neviles place in englands future

:D

Shame tbh, I liked Hoyte.

Yeah, he'd always get past like 3 men, then not pick the pass. Still, we could use something like that in the team now.

I spent a lot of last night reminiscing over ex-Gooner montages, Hleb, Reyes, Flamini, Ljungberg, Gilberto, Pires and Lauren...

Jon Toral's signed a professional deal at the club

Quite interesting to see how our younger players will do in the coming season, especially the ones who havn't featured for the first-team much yet. Chuks Aneke, Daniel Boateng and Nico Yennaris have all made their first-team debuts this season, but there's players like Benik Afobe, Thomas Eisfeld, Jon Toral and Serge Gnabry who all look, or sound, good. When Gnabry was still in the Stuttgart youth ranks, he was being talked about as Germany's new 'Golden Boy'.

typical, just when he was starting to adapt and put in some decent performances.

Still, TV back in the middle is a good thing. Just hope Gibbs doesn't break and can get a run in the team. Hopefully a decent run will help him regain the confidence he had when he broke into the team

This thread is usually so quiet before the big games, strange :)

It is such a blow with PerMer. IMO he was criticised unfairly and his presence helped us improve defensively this season (before someone jumps out with conceded goals stat I would like to add that the entire team does the defending). Now we only have 2 class CBs, unless Djourou decides it is this time in his career that he looks like a class defender, but you never know with him.
