Very quiet. The other half and housemate/lodger/whatever you want to call her are both at work and I've decided to stay in on my own.

Rather than make an inapropriate and immature comment I'll be serious. What do they work as? retail?

My girlfriend is a barmaind at one of the locals. Not glamorous but gets through around 30 hours a week most weeks earning decent money.

Lodger works at a hotel, (to my knowledge she does various different things there), and either does shifts between 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am.

I can vouch for that. Customers that probably don't work are the worst. Thinking that they are all high and mighty. Customers who think they no more than you. The amount of times we had customers come in asking for something that we never sold. We'd tell them and they'd still insist. Until we'd read their minds and ask whether they got it from another store and they'd reply with yes. Considering we were a fairly small store, we couldn't have everything.

I used to work for JJB when I was at College just after leaving school and one person asked me whilst I was on the shoe department. I worked in a really big store which sold probably a few hundred pairs of shoes. Someone said to me which shoes do you have in a size 5 or what ever it was. I politely said we have hundreds of shoes so I can't honestly say which ones we have in what sizes so if you pick a couple of pairs your like and I will go and have a look and if we don't, I will pick some similar styles. I said that to the Mother and her son, but the Dad kicked off with me, and I quote said, 'your customer service is **** and how the **** you work here I don't know'. I was actually shocked that someone said that considering what I said was right and another customer stuck up for me which was a surprise, but some were complete idiots.

when was restaurant work ever glamorous? not seen any indication of that during the years I spent working at a few different places

She doesn't work in a restraunt.
bar/restaurant...different parts of the same thing really, maybe my lack of ability to tell the two apart steam from our strange alcohol laws (if I recall it right you need to be able to sell some sort of food until late in the evening in order to be able to sell alcohol)

Really? Christ I'd never cope!
well you would not have to wait to buy the alcohol....if that was what you was thinking, the place just need to sell food until a certain h in order to also be able to sell alcohol during this time and later in the night.....and the place need a permit to be able to sell at all

mind, it was about 5-6 years ago or something like that, that I worked at a nightclub so its hard for me to recall every rule now when I'm not working with it

When I used to work at Napoleons Casino when I was in my late teens, that was pretty glamourous for the valets who used to serve the food we cooked. They had to be due to the massive tips they used to get.

I have to write out a HR report about one of my supervisors that, in all honesty, is a complete c***.

Just put that, it's simple yet effective.

I was talking about the work itself, regardless of which task you have in a restaurant, you will spend a sagnificant portion of the time cleaning various things

personally I dont think that is very glamorous ;)

I really should stop reading about football and various clubs, I get into them to much and it makes me want to start a save. I have been using a lone striker formation so have been reading **** loads about them. But the stuff about Roma when they were forced to use a strikerless formation now makes me wanna play as them :(

You Swedish do it all wrong :D

Casino was great, all we had to do was prep and cook. No cleaning at all, was far to busy for that so had to have 4 people who just cleaned constant

we are bound to regard everything as a team effort

how many ppl did you serve on average in the casino? (how many did you take in on one sitting) and how many was working in the kitchen?

8 chefs, 3 desert chefs, 4 sous chef, 4 pot washers, 4 cleaners. 8pm til 11pm we served À la carte menu and that would be roughly 200 covers a night. Then from 12pm til 3am we'd serve a breakfast menu and that would roughly be 500 covers a night during the week but could be a lot more during the weekends.

Have you been playing as them? I think I seem to remember you using them as a reference on a couple of occassions in recent weeks :)
only about a half year in on my fm13 Roma save so far, but I'm geting a bit distracted by the other two saves I have running (namely im stuck in the transfer windows on those two trying to make up my mind on who to buy and I will hopefully do a thread on one of them in the tactics forum so I need to take a bunch of screenshots before I progress that save anyway)

and well being a Roma supporter and all that.....makes it sort of predictable that I would end up playing a Roma save on most fm's

According to our weather forecast it will be -7 rest of the week :(

Cleon going that extra mile to ruin my week .

It is absolutely bitter today, and normaly I can put up with the cold. I think what annoys me more when it is like this is the fact that when I am driving, everyone drives at 2mph or something when they really don't need to.

thats a pretty massive staff, might be possible to do it on less staff if you organized it well, and went in early to prep on big nights, but considering the amount of covers its less superising that you had staff for cleaning on top of the rest

Got my first season of FM 2013 finished off late last night for my career thread. It used to take me nearly a month to get through a season but with more time on my hands and a much better lump of hardware, I got finished in 4 days. Looks like I might be in this career type business for a while then :D

Its nice when you do a career and if you have the time to write up a thread the feedback is nice. At the minute, I just think I need a break from FM to be fair, but I can't see me playing FM any other way to be fair.

Yeah the write up part is something I have plenty of time to do. I'm getting the hang of getting the layout that I want. Since I've played very little FM since the summer, I'm fresh and raring to go. I took the break once I lost my 3rd Champions League final in a row with Tenerife and I just didn't have the motivation to go through another season.
