It was us. We loaned to Atletico Madrid who had an agreed fee. They then loaned him straight to Rayo Vallecano to decide if he was good enough to sign on a perminant deal basically.

Holtby gone to spurs :(

Two of the failures have left us, chamakh and djorou( who's tbf isn't that bad.... he's better than the squid)

Now we just need to get rid of the money-hungry arshavin, the man with the largest forehead in the world (also happens to be the worst)- gervinho, the squid himself, bendtner & denilson.....

Please arsene... use your brain you ignorant fool!

COYG!

Chamakh will do alright for West Ham because they actually know how to cross the ball so he should bag them a few with headers, which was a big part of his game before he moved to your lot.

I really hope so. I'd be fairly happy with a 10+ goal return.

I think he'll offer more than goals though if you cross to him, he'll allow Cole etc to play off him.

I hope it fails though as West Ham are the only club I can say I truly hate :(

I'm assuming that's because of the Tevez saga? :(

Aye, dirty cheats. Still not fully paid up the compensation either ffs :(

Yeah Chamakh was never a bad player, just not one that fits with Arsenal.. he'll do well.

Same way Giroud doesn't suit Arsenal either. What's the point of buying powerful players who are good in the air if you don't cross :D

Pretty pleased that Newcastle have gone out, if only to wind my girlfriends son up :D

From what you've said in the thread in the past, I'm guessing he is really easy to wind up and nark off? :D

I'm not too sure how the compensation payments got worked out, we were fairly lucky it was only £25,000,000 or so though ..

It'll all be paid by end of the season though I think. We spent the money years ago, we borrowed a loan against the money so will make no difference bar paying a bit of debt off.

In fairness to Giroud he is doing pretty well for Arsenal. They also play a touch more directly than they did a couple of years ago or so, meaning someone like Giroud is more effective.

I've always been a fan of Giroud even before he became well known so to speak. He does alright for Arsenal when they do cross though and as started scoring. I think the team just needed to realise how to utilise him and play to his strengths. I think a lot of Arsenal fans failed to realise they weren't using him correctly and was giving him quite a bit of stick which was unfair imo.

P.s ... im grumpy because i've had YET ANOTHER debt collection agency letter about a non existent debt...gonna lose it soon and take it to court.

I advise threatening them with going to court. I had the same issue a few years ago. Apparently despite me living in Oz for a number of years i was suddenly buying up big on womens clothes and stuff from Harrods. Soon as i said i would go to court it all miraculously disappeared.

They should have known no true Scotsman would ever spend money, let alone in Harrods. :D

P.S. Southamptom. :D

P.P.S. pretty sure i made some spelling mistakes in this post. Dont hate me as i am 2 bottles of wine down and a few beers to boot.

Yeah :D. Typical teenager really. He can take a joke, but is dead easy to wind up sometimes.

Bah, it's not the fans fault is it?

Arsenal are in edwin van der sar's words "A feeder club for big teams"

We develop our youth players and then ship them out... well the fan's dont, but our board do.

However we have reached a crisis point.... we have no youth team anymore... apart from yennaris, gnabry and eisfield we are done.

Coquelin is over-rated, Diaby will never be able to play more than 10 games a season, gervinho can't kick a ball, arshavin dosen't want to play football -just pick up his 80 grand per week, squillaci is useless, djorou is on the way out, chamakh is on the way out, Park has yet to play this season (I think he may have been 3 or 4 times), Fabianski is on 50 grand per week for being a backup useless goalkeeper, no club wants bendtner and andre santos at LB simply cannot defend.

We have 6 or 7 decent players and 4 or 5 good players. Arsenal are ruined. I hope the spuds get into the champions league this year because their chairman and board actually invest in the club and seem to have a passion for it, a passion that left arsenal when david dein left.

We may just get 4th this year, but without some quality signings we are done for.

Just thought as a usually lurking type of guy i would poke my head in and say hello

HI.

Arsenal still have some pretty good players. the likes of Wilshere, Carzola would probably be welcome in any team (other than Barca maybe). In the short term the way they run the club may not bring success but when the financial fair play rules take effect i am sure they will be in a great position.

This is asuming the financial fair play rules work as they are supposed to and not rorted by sheiks buying an seat in the stadium for 100mill..

Does anyone really think that Financial Fair Play will be properly enforced?

Certain stances have been made haven't they? Malaga have been banned I am sure?

Yeah i read that they had been banned but isn't there some sort of appeal going on? I am sure i read after the win in December that they had actually sorted out all the problems.
