Bayern slipped to almost a mid-table team which is why I wanted to move there. I did try to sign this guy when he went to Inter, but he's come in and is mentoring a few kids. Still confused as to how this can happen if star ratings are supposedly relative to squad ability, unless you have a slew of 1* players on the bench. It's because form plays such a massive part now, a top team in good form will get stars like that. In general you should trust star ratings less than ever. Here's an unremarkable player of mine, growing from 2.5* to 4.5* in 3 months for no reason other than form. FWIW, the club turned pro last May, he's on a part time contract for another year beyond this season, we're in September and I've been trying to make him sign a new contract while fighting off dubious transfer offers (like, a bag of crisps and half a ham sandwich + 20% of profit from next sale) ever since.
