DazRTaylor
Doing very well!! Wow, one hell of a year both in domestic and international football! Any prospects on the club front for a new job? Thanks guys I really want to manage in France but I got turned down by Lyon, believe it nor not. Lille would be my ideal club - Haven't won anything in ages and a team on the way down. DazRTaylor
SEASON 2023-24 PREVIEW Media Prediction - 4th. My Expectation - 2nd - I reckon I can take 2nd though Valencia are so strong, I doubt I can finish above them. Transfer Budget - £457,000,000. Reduced -but only because I had already spent over £250m at this point. Wage Budget - £5,000,252 per week. I don't even use half of this. PLAYERS Players In I couldn't sign all the players I wanted, but I still signed quite a few for big money. Bodo Krebs - One of the finest strikers in the world. Despite being aged only 24, he already has 40 goals for his Germany. Mikulas Toth - Remember that centre half Wigan offered for £100m? I have resigned him as he is now the best centre half in the world. Sandro Serpa - Portuguese defensive midfielder. Vital player who fulfills a lot of the donkey work. Yavuz Pala - 25 year old Turkish left midfielder whom I will use as a left winger. Roman Adam - Right winger signed from Fulham. Should prove to be good enough to start most games. Mauricio - Young Spaniard signed from Atletico Madrid. Squad player but has a big future. Bojan Djordevic - Right back who never let me down at Dortmund. Mato Ivic - Young Croatioan Goalkeeper added to provide competition. Between him and compatriot Andija Vucko for the No 1 jersey. Maxim Streltsov - THAT centre half who scored 36 goals in a season for me at Dortmund. Cannot believe I got him so cheap. Djamal Kamal - French defensive midfielder who never quite clicked at Arsenal Fran Alvarez - Spanish left back who returns home after a spell in England with Arsenal. Andrija Vucko - Another young Croatian goalkeeper. Will battle it out with Mato Ivic for the starting berth. Juan Carlos Paez - Portuguese left winger, signed to provide competition for Yavuz Pala. Christiano Pagura - Young Italian full back signed for both his versatility and to provide back up at right back. Lukumci Niyazi - Teenage Dutch goalkeeper who will act as a backup for this season. Younous Maurer - 16 year old French Defensive midfielder. I am convinced he is a future great. Has been loaned to Zurich for the season. Georges Jacquet - Another young French defensive midfielder. Loaned to AEK Athens. Kjeld Connolly - Young Scottish striker who can also play on either wing. Loaned to AZ Alkmaar. Players Out A huge clearout. I made the decision to also cull former greats like Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Busquets and Alexis Sanchez. All three were clearly past it but on massive contracts. In all, I sold or released 58 players raising £135m in fees.

DazRTaylor
LAST MINUTE ADDITION Really chuffed to sign this guy again - he was a brilliant squad player for me at Dortmund and always played well. An absolute steal at £16.5m. Also, I cannot believe he has not been capped by England yet.
DazRTaylor
MID SEASON UPDATE So far, all too easy. I need a challenge at the end of this season. Europa League After crushing Romanians CFR CLuj in the fourth qualifying round 12-0 on aggregate (5-0 away, 7-0 at home), we then had the group stage. We played six, won six. We scored shedload of goals. Thye group table is below. We have drawn Spartak Moscow in the first knockout round, first leg in Russia. League With the exception of the defeat to Real Madrid (we lost 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu), we have won the other sixteen games. Copa del Rey Just the one tie played to date, where we beat Logrones 8-0 on aggregate (3-0 away, 5-0 at home). We have drawn Malaga, first leg at home, in the fifth round. PLAYERS Players In Only two new signings, Andras Mocan, to provide some much needed competition in central midfield & Cristian Linord, a young French striker. Players Out Hernan Banegas has been sold to Chelsea for £40m and, er, that's it.
deltablue
Linord could be something good.

DazRTaylor
This will be my one and only season at Barcelona I think. Winning by five/six goals most weeks is a tad tedious. Ideally, I would like a top French side or Ajax (despite their ignorance previously!), but if neither come to pass, then I would like a smaller club and take them to Champions League glory! By smaller club, I mean the likes of Southampton, Hoffenheim etc.

DazRTaylor
One year at Barcelona...just padding up that resume? Yep, it isn't hard and I want the glory in France (as not been there at all in FM2012) or a 'smaller' club becoming European Champions.
DazRTaylor
END OF SEASON REVIEW SEASON 2023-24 Quite an easy season, the only thing lacking being Champions League participation. Still, there was always the Europa League... Europa League After aggregate victories against Spartak Moscow (first knockout round, 3-2 away, 1-0 at home, 4-2 on aggregate), F. C. Porto (second knockout round, 0-0 at home, 2-0 away, 2-0 on aggregate), Manchester City (quarter final, 3-1 at home, 1-0 at home, 4-1 on aggregate) and Tottenham Hotspur (semi final, 3-0 at home, 2-1 away, 5-1 on aggregate), it was down to the final and a showdown with the Napoli. Although we were clearly the better side, we never dominated and it took a 91st minute winner to finally kill off the Italians for a 2-1 win and my first ever Europa League title. League We played attractive football and dominated nearly all teams. If you look at the league table, you can see how unlucky Real Madrid & Valencia were. Any other season and either of them could of won the league with those points totals. An absolute chasm between us three and the rest. Copa del Rey Malaga were dispatched in a close tie 5-4 on aggregate in the fifth round (3-0 at home, 2-4 away) which set up a tie with top flight Elche. We defeated Elche 5-1 on aggregate (3-1 away, 2-0 at home). The semi final saw an interesting tie with second tier Celta Vigo but unfortunately for them, we were too strong, prevailing 5-0 on aggregate (3-0 at home, 2-0 away). The final was a mouthwatering tie against Valencia, who had won this trophy four times in the last five. The final proved to be anything but mouthwatering. In what must have been one of the most boring matches ever, chances were few and far between and the match finished 0-0 after extra time. The penalty shootout summed the game up nicely as only three penalties were converted, Valencia winning 2-1. So we missed out on another trophy. Oh well, you cannot win them all. PLAYERS Player of the Season Maxim Streltsov scored 36 goals in a single season from centre back when he was at Dortmund with me. I thought it was a fluke. This season, this beast scored 53 goals! From centre half! He goes up for every single corner and free kick but even so, this is just sick. As a result, he is a clear Player of the Season. Special Mention Thiago may be 33 but he is a Barcelona legend. He has been at the club for his entire career, made close to 500 league appearances and has over 100 caps for Spain. 2023-24 must surely go down as one of his finest. An average rating of close to 8.00 is simply fantastic. DazRTaylor
A very astute signing! What a bargain!Good luck with Monaco- although I'm struggling to keep up Yeah, me too! After I am finished in Monaco - I hope no more than four seasons, I fancy taking on a Championship club and leading them to European glory. We will see though. DazRTaylor
END OF SEASON REVIEW SEASON 2024-25 None of the results or team performances this season will count in my records statistics on the first page of this thread as I was only in charge for the last eleven games and the first seven were against teams in the bottom half. We were not in European competition this season and we were out of the cups before I arrived. League We rallied well to finish third and thus enter the qualifying rounds of the Champions League. Coupe de France We were already eliminated prior to my arrival. We were knocked out in the eleventh round, which is the round of sixteen. Coupe de la Ligue We were already eliminated prior to my arrival. We were knocked out in the third round, which is the round of sixteen. PLAYERS Player of the Season A solid if unspectacular season for the Italian full back. He is a class above anyone else at the club. Special Mention A huge let down until I arrived. Then he clicked and he dominated games for us. I have doubts about his ability in the Champions League though.
