Beta version

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just wondering how many of you will carry your beta game onto the full version?

If the Beta is the full game (without full testing) then surely we could start a proper career game with multiple leagues and just carry that on once we update to the full version?

I take it the full version will only fix bugs that people find during beta testing? There will be no database changes between the beta release and full release?

There won't be any database changes - in theory - if something significant had somehow gone wrong then there may well be but that applies to all games at all times. The game will still be in beta and that does mean the potential for bugs, but again this is something present in all games. To ensure the absolute smoothest gameplay ideally you would start a new game with a new patch (which is what release day would be over the early access version) but there wouldn't be any issues in all likeliness that would prevent you from carrying on.

I normally start a game during testing (even before the pre-release beta) and more often than not it's been absolutely fine to continue it post-release.

However as we always state, due to the nature of some fixes, it's always best to start a new game for every fix. Certainly ones related to league rules/dates etc. But unless there's a major issue raised it beta you should be fine.

Is the beta a full game in the sense that it can be updated to non-beta version for free on Steam after the actual release?

Yes, it is. You can just continue playing a save from the beta if you want. It's really the same game with the exception of release day bug fixes.
