Pre-order in Germany

Recommended Posts

All websites that I know do not allow me to buy the game. GamersGate, Steam, Greenmangaming, Amazon.de, etc.

Well as I've also said, do you have a trusted friend outside of Germany online that you could trust to get money off you and to buy the game and get it mailed to you?

I am originally from Brazil actually. So I can ask a friend back home to buy a key for me.

Thanks for the suggestion.

No problem, I sent you a PM, I can buy it for you as a gift if you transfer funds in to my bank account. Check the PM and reply and let me know either way.

How is that possible? I bought FM13 on Steam...

Then you were either using a workaround or didn't order it from Germany. FM has never been available on Steam from Germany. The game hasn't seen a German release since about FM 2007, I think. This is because the DFL, the governing body of the Bundesliga, is selling rights exclusively. And the current holder is Electronic Arts.

Whilst you might not be able to pre-order from Steam, there are tons of ways to do so still: http://www.meistertrainerforum.de/index.php/topic,17125.0.html?PHPSESSID=bab8b4e13eb653a4cdd63690cff94c60

Easiest way possible is this.

http://www.cjs-cdkeys.com/pages/About.html

I have linked to their "about" page because the site looks a little dodgy, but it is legit and has won major awards in the past.

Essentially you buy through their site, and how it works is that the guy essentially buys the game and you simply receive the CD key (or in this case the Steam key) but not the physical product.

The game can be easily pre-ordered in its physical form just as well -- and there is access to the beta here as well.

The "easiest" way for me would be simply ordering it from Amazon.co.uk. It's not the cheapest, for that I'd look through the thread I linked to. But there is no problem whatsoever at all.

However, from experience, the game will always show up on Amazon.de around the game's release, as game shops from Germany pick it up as import and start selling. I'd be surprised if this won't be the case here also. FM 2012 used to top the UK import charts for quite a while on the site (the game has never been that popular in Germany, as such not many shops on the streets selling imports are likely to have it in stock – the one I once went to in my area was wondering that there'd be somebody developing a management game based on American Football when I asked whether they had the game available).

There might not be an official release in Germany, as such Steam isn't allowed to sell it in Germany, there is no advertising, no nothing. And you won't ever find a boxed copy anywhere on the streets, except in dedicated game shops selling imported games. If you live in an area with a big city, maybe there is such a shop and you're lucky. But ordering the game from Germany yourself, there are many many and easy opportunities to do that.
