FM 14 My 4-5-1 Tactic advice needed please

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Just wanted some advice on the following tactic I have created in the beta with Blackburn Rovers which seems to be working so far for me. I'm finding it solid in defence with a number of clean sheets. I have had a few 0-0 results so would like to know if I can do anything to change this into 1-0's etc.

Here is the formation

I have the following mentality and Fludiity and no addition team instructions

Player instruction wise I have the following set up for my two wingers (No other players have anything changed from default role settings

All advice is welcome

Very nice simple setup.

I would just look to up the Mentality for certain games and perhaps make the other winger also attack. Remember you are one of the best teams in that league, no reason either/both of those changes would do any damage.

You are using a rigid fluidity with only non-specialist roles. I would change to fluid. Other than that there's a huge gap between mc's and your striker, which might make it hard for your midfielders to link up.

Myself when using a 41221 I use one winger, usually an IF with an attacking mentality, the other, often a winger, as support. If you put both wingers on attack, the winger that is attacking on the side with the mc-s might not get a lot of passes because he is far away from everything. Then again if you make both outer mc's attacking the distance between the 2 mc-a's and the mc-d gets bigger. In general I think the way you have the mentalities set up right now is pretty good.

If you change the strikers role to dlf, tq or something he will help build up the play more, and still score a lot. (at least I don't have a problem in a 41221 tactic with a tq.)

Good luck!

Dunno tbh, i always use a trequartista when I use a lone striker, I think I would start with an attacking mentality because you are using wingers that need someone in the box to cross to.

On the other hand I don't know how you're striker is doing atm.
