any actual difference in difficulty in FM and FMC

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering if anyone's found evidence of what is actually easier or more likely to do better out of FM/FMC

i.e. take same team/tactics/similar signings etc etc is there a version that your more likely to do better?

I mean I play FMC for all the obvious reasons but I cant say I've had a really successful game yet (around 20 seasons since release) but if I suddenly played FM would I

actually do better. Yes I know its a tough one to say let alone probably nothing in but I was just wondering if anyone has played both hence have done much better in oneof them i.e. FM I guess given my FMC experience?

Thanks

Here are some differences in my opinion:

FMC vs. FM Full

Tactics: Easier - can change tactic on a whim, no penalty for familiarity - More Difficult - to adjust the tactic due to lack of analysis tools

Motivation: Easier - Some really tough characters (i.e. Balotelli) don't do their charades in FMC - More Diff. - no team talks if your morale is down, you need to play friendlies

Staff: Easier - setting up scouting, checking how "good" they are (star rating) - More Difficult - less specialization for various roles

Training: Easier - you don't worry about it - More Difficult - You can't influence your players as you would like

Transfers: FMC More Difficult - I only have one example but I tried to sign Timo Werner for Wolfsburg in FMC and he didn't even want to talk. In FM Full, he signed. I am not quite sure why.

So in the end, I think neither is easier or more difficult. Each feature that's easier in one mode makes other things more difficult. FMC is just trimmed down and you need to worry about less than other things. This also gives you less control (making things more difficult again if that makes sense).

There is no difference when it comes to Transfers.

Training is different because there's less direct control but you can influence this in your tactics with setting player roles to influence role training, and new positions for position training.

Staff, there isn't any additional difficulty, the weight of having 20-odd staff at the top level is taken away so there's less time consuming contract renewals to do. There's less specialisation for various roles because these are simply not needed in FMC (ie. you're not put at a disadvantage).

In terms of difficulty, I'm not sure there is any greater difficulty in FMC at all. In FM there's more variables to take care of (particularly with team talks and interactions), so there's much more that you can do wrong. With training in FMC, there's less overall direct control as mentioned above but you're not disadvantaged to the AI in any respect, it's a level playing field.

Tactics and Transfers are what FMC is about, you may need to watch matches in a little more detail to understand roles and instructions more fully and once settled, you can really hammer through seasons in key/comms only.

I find it a lot easier to play FMC with the "instant result" option than actually going through the matches myself. of course I still have to select the team and set up tactics and game plan, but there's a significant difference in results between each option.

has anyone else found similar behaviour?
