BBB
Oliver Holt gets it spot on <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> LACK OF SIGNINGS LEAVE UNITED ON ROAD TO NOWHERE Oliver Holt THERE are three reasons that might explain why Manchester United are doing an awfully good job of looking like a club that's lost the plot this summer. Either the worst fears of the fans who defected from the club when the Glazer family took over have already been realised and the club is skint. Or Sir Alex Ferguson has become preposterously complacent in his old age. Or United are stuck with a manager in the winter of his career and they just can't get the big players any more. Whatever it is, the start of the new Premiership season is less than a month away and United have still failed to sign a single new player. Another potential target slipped away yesterday when Fernando Torres announced he preferred to stay at Atletico Madrid. And while their rivals are buying new stars, United seem intent on selling theirs. Chelsea have bought Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack. Liverpool have snapped up Craig Bellamy. Arsenal have got Tomas Rosicky. United? Well, they're doing their best to flog one of the club's greatest goalscorers to whoever will pay £15million for him. The word around Old Trafford for some time has been that Ferguson thinks there is no need to buy a new forward when he rids himself of Ruud van Nistelrooy. The theory is that he will be OK with Wayne Rooney, Louis Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Alan Smith and Giuseppe Rossi. Which is fine, apart from the fact that Rooney's got a dodgy temperament, Saha's injury prone, Solskjaer's played seven league games in the past three years, Smith has never been a natural goalscorer and Rossi's not ready. There's still time for that to change, of course. United may yet launch a raid for Tottenham's Michael Carrick and Jermain Defoe among others. But unless they pull off a stunning transfer coup on the scale of taking Ronaldinho from Barcelona or Kaka from AC Milan - which they won't - it is going to be hard to shake the notion that they have lost more ground on the rest this summer. Worryingly for everyone who loves the club, they are not even being linked with the elite players any more. No one seriously thinks Kaka or Ronaldinho would choose Old Trafford now. With Ferguson's judgment fading, they feel like a club on the slide. So their targets are players like Carrick and Villarreal's Marcos Senna, both excellent professionals, but not of the calibre associated with United in the past. United's problem is that Ferguson has failed to adapt to the fact that he can no longer bully the rest of the Premiership with his spending power. He can't compete financially for players like Ballack and Shevchenko but he's not getting the bargains, either. Why weren't United in for Bellamy, for instance? Why weren't they in for Damian Duff? Particularly when Ryan Giggs is 33 in November and United's idea of cover appears to be John O'Shea. He hasn't picked up any bargains, either. No Kolo Toure. No Mohamed Sissoko. No players coming through any more, either. No John Terry. No Ashley Cole. United will do OK next season. They've got a great leader in Gary Neville. They've got Gabriel Heinze and Paul Scholes back after injury. And Rooney's a genius. They'll buy players before the start of the season, too. Probably resurrect the Carrick deal. But the damage has been done. United needed to get busy early this summer like chief executive David Gill promised they would. The feeling that there is something fundamentally wrong just won't go away. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> I might just email and say "It's actually all 3 mate"

Saha
O RLY?, short for "Oh, really?" is a popular Internet phenomenon, typically presented as an image macro featuring a Snowy Owl. The usual conversation flow starts with O RLY?, triggering a YA RLY ("Yeah, really") response, followed by a NO WAI! ("No way"). These may be used in combination with any number of other Internet slang expressions. The phrase "O RLY?" is typically used in a sarcastic or sardonic manner, often in response to a statement that the speaker feels is blatantly obvious, or blatantly self-contradictory. Some Internet forum trolls may also reply O RLY? in response to a lengthy post (see also TLDR).
