Rio - 7: Played far better than he did against Celtic. Brown - 6: Above average. He really needs to up his game. Didn't track the run of Adebayor for the goal today. Silvestre - 6: Did ok while he was on the pitch. Fletcher - 7: Played pretty well. O'Shea - 4: Was woeful. Sloppy passing, no tackling and a dire reading of the game. Scholes - 7: Played pretty well. Ronaldo - 7: I thought he was our best attacking threat. Rooney - 5: Not at the races at all today. Saha - 6: Got onto a few balls and worked hard. Evra - 7: I thought he played very well. Carrick - 6: Didn't have much time to make an impact. Ole - 6: Was unlucky with the effort near the end.

At the end of the day, you've got two players who's primary job is to create chances, and who's secondary job is to score goals. And even taking the Ronaldo of last season for the comparison, you've got the player who does that significantly better out of the two getting huge criticism, and the other getting MOTM and "Park is fffffb" for games like yesterday when he missed two sitters and failed to create a single goalscoring chance that i can remember from a number of promising situations. I'm not saying he's awful, he does lots of things well, it's just he's nowhere near worthy of the level of praise he gets from some quarters.

ericcantona7
I'd be tempted to play: VDS O'Shea Heinze Ferdinand Brown Solskjaer Carrick Scholes Giggs Ronaldo Rooney a narrow midfield without pace on the wings doesn't seem good, esp without Neville and Evra overlapping, but I get the feeling that it'd work through the middle, Scholes, Rooney and Ronaldo all together could be cramped, or it could be fantastic. If Ronaldo was on one of the wings it'd be easy to double up on him, in the middle that'd just create space for Ole and Scholes to come into. and if it doesn't work we can always switch it. BBB
Posted in the match thread <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> The entire trip was a shambles from start to finish. Left home at 5, got to the airport around 6, flight should have been at 8.30, took off around 9.45 as they didn't have a departure gate so they parked the plane in the middle of nowhere and so we had to get on a bus across the airport. Landed, got onto coaches, which we then waited 20 minutes for the police to decide to move (a police escort at 12 in the afternoon for christs sake), coach driver drove around 20mph and we got into Rome itself at gone 3pm. Found a bar and had a few beers and a ffffb time, singing to United songs, the locals were amazed and stood there taking pictures/videos, few Roma fans walked past and there was friendly banter, we were heading to the stadium at 6.30, again via police escort, had to wait 20/30 mins while the police made their minds up. Drove past Italians on scooters doing the cut throat sign etc, got the ground at 7ish, waited for James07? and headed inside, they didn't have "toilets" they had possibly 6 urinals and 2 cubicles with a hole in the floor. Missed quite a bit of the first half looking out for stuff being thrown, then ofc the fighting kicked in as detailed above. Full time, we were kept in for just over TWO HOURS, they played the 99 CL Final and we didn't get to see the last 3 mins Big Grin, got back onto the coaches and arrived at the airport at 2ish to be greeted by around 50 riot police in full gear, not necessary as we just wanted to get home. Flight left around 3 (flight crew weren't ready ffs) and touched down in Manchester at 5.30. So, around 99% of time was spent queuing or waiting. Uefa won't do anything, that will only happen when someone dies. Disgusting really, ofc we weren't completely innocent but they were way way over the top. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
