<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> Paul Scholes says United will target victory no matter what state the title race is in when the Reds travel to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 9 May.

The penultimate match of the season could still prove decisive. But with the Reds boasting a far superior goal difference, United could all but guarantee championship success by winning the next six fixtures against Blackburn, Portsmouth, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, Everton and Manchester City.

Asked if he would hope to have the title wrapped up by the time the match against Chelsea comes around, Scholes said: “You’d like to think so, wouldn’t you? But we know there is a long way to go and a lot of hard work before we’re in that position.â€

The 32-year-old midfielder, whose rejuvenated displays have been so key to the Reds this season, says the date of the game will have no bearing on United’s determination to win the match.

“It doesn’t make any difference when we play Chelsea,†he said in an interview with the club’s official magazine, Inside United.

“Whatever position we are in we’ll go there and want to do well. No matter what the circumstances, we won’t be going to Stamford Bridge and taking our foot off the pedal.

“Winning that game is something we will have to do to show that we are worthy of being where we are now. We won’t even be playing for the draw because that isn’t the way we play, we always want to win.

"And they’ve beaten us at Stamford Bridge the last few years so it would mean a lot to go there and win.â€

Our Ronaldo wasnt meant to last 2 minutes before getting his legs broken but as it was he lasted 78 minutes before being given a rest.

The usual performance from him that included a couple of goals.

Keep it up Ronnie and soon enough you'll have World and European player of the year awards.

That's nothing strange at international stage. He has been doing it for 2 years now. At United it was a problem of him scoring.

This season that seems to have been fixed icon_biggrin.gif

Based on watching Goalissimo! highlights over the last couple of months (and prompted by those highlights just now) if we are going to make a move for currently on-song wingers we could do a lot worse than Nani or Quaresma.

Based on how ready they are to step up I'd prefer the latter than the former but the young lad from Sporting is showing plenty of promise.

Quaresma sucks. Never gonna make it at a big team in the big league.

Gossip links to United on Sunday:

Sneijder > Huntelaar > Deco > Simao

If we hadn't signed Carrick and already had Hargreaves (or another specialist DM) I'd seriously consider taking Sneijder as Scholesy's long term replacement. Always been impressed when I've seen him play.

It sounds so easy when you say it like that. All we need is about £55-60mill to prise those three away from their respective clubs.

Fair enough. Personal opinion and all that. We've got Carrick anyway so its not really an issue & I don't think any of those players will be wearing our shirt by the end of August.

but were the richest club in the world!!

besides, selling silvestre, richardson, smith and oshea would surely bring in half that amount.
