kingjericho
So does every player (high profile players) have a sponsorship deal to wear determined boots? That may explain the very debatable tastes in boots.
JD nawrat
Most aren't told to wear specific boots, but rather just the one brand they're signed to (Adidas, Puma, Nike etc). At the World Cup though (and Euros too iirc) sponsors do ask players to wear the same boots. Not remember South Africa had loads of these?
PaulHartman71
Couldn't care less really. Bit weird but can see the logic behind a kid wanting two pairs of boots rather than one so they can do what the players do. Don't get this fascination with black boots either. Bit odd seeing Puma have bright pink/blue boots though, Pires' old boots that were gold and cream with black trim iirc were cool as ****.
Confused Clarity
So does every player (high profile players) have a sponsorship deal to wear determined boots? That may explain the very debatable tastes in boots. The high profile players will have a sponsorship deal with one of the Boot manufacturers. From there, they'll either be a Ronaldo type where they'll have a brand created for them - i.e the CR7 Boots, or they'll be associated with a particular boot from their range. Usually, during normal seasons, those different brands within each companies ranges will have different styles to differentiate them from each other. However, during Tournament football, you'll find that the bigger companies wil try to have a common design across their various ranges so that the boots can be easily identified as being from that company & so as not to have confusion between that companies various ranges. kingjericho
I see... hence the unreasonable amount of players using those horrible one blue/one pink pairs, and others using those black and white dotted boots.
Confused Clarity
They're the Adidas boots & they're actually different designs but done in such a way, that you remember them all as pretty similar: http://www.dezeen.com/2014/06/20/world-cup-footballers-gerard-suarez-wear-battlepack-football-boots-by-adidas/

Razzler
US sanctions meant they couldn't go buy colourful boots, no doubt otherwise they'd have stupid boots too. It's no clinging to tradition or anything, for sure
Just-Wool
Watching Italy is so distracting on HD. Half the team have different coloured boots on, the other half have those extremely neon green monstrosities that you can wear at night and be noticed from a mile away. I don't like it. Bradz FM
What is the point in the odd boots and gloves? They are all the same odd pairs. It's Ridiculous. Is it to help players differentiate which foot each boot goes on?!

Boltman
What footballers used to do - What they do now - Wouldn't be surprised if some of them wear their WAG's underwear on the pitch. I despair.
