Djstu23
Venue: Maracana Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has to decide whether or not to drop Iker Casillas and play Pepe Reina in goal. Fellow keeper David De Gea has a buttock muscle injury, while Pedro and Javi Martinez could come into the starting line-up. Chile's key midfielder Arturo Vidal came through an hour of the win over Australia unscathed on his first start since undergoing knee surgery in May. Charles Aranguiz is one booking away from a ban. Boltman
Enormous win for La Roja please. Sooner Spain and their tedious tiki-taka garbage are dumped out the better
scott MUFC
arse injury? how did he get that? and mon chilli
DJ
Win for Chili and thus Spain out, please. Don't want to risk the Spanish slipping through the group and getting their stuff together in the later rounds.
player_65
Spain can't be that bad again surely & Chile weren't brilliant, merely good against Australia so this has cagey 1-1 written all over it. Also, fix the thread title. How will I know what number match this is without that in the header?
Astafjevs
Spain win. Probably by two goals.
el sid
Enormous win for La Roja please. Sooner Spain and their tedious tiki-taka garbage are dumped out the better According to Wiki, both Spain and Chile are 'La Roja', or the Red One. Weird.
football_master_94
Time for Alexis to rinse that shaky Spain backline. A Chile win, please.
adhikapp
I wouldnt be surprised if Spain changed their entire XI. They got players all over the squad to do that.
ringwoodrob
I've heard rumours they might not even play tiki-taka also as above could be changes,i'd like a high scoring draw 3-3 well why not we're in a draw spell
RubenJ
if you've been playing a certain way for many years, you're not simply going to throw everything overboard because of one terrible loss.
Anti Spiral
It'll be 1-0 Spain, for sure.
Razzler
Spain win. Probably by two goals. That's my thinking Don't think the Spain defence will be as clownshoes again and Spain were doing their usual knocking it about in the first half against the Dutch. Chile seem to lose the ball in their own half a bit so could be a problem with the Spanish pressing up there if they bother
dudge7
I'm torn on this one, I want Spain to win the world cup but Chile have Mauricio Pinilla. Will reserve judgment until I see the line-ups.
Readingfanman
If Chile can get a draw in this match, I think Spain are going to be almost out here.
pouncer
Torn. Would love Spain to get through, I'm not bored of them yet and know plenty of people who will go into meltdown if they get knocked out. At the same time I'm a big fan of Chile. It's huge. Think Spain will edge it though however, 2-1 or something.

Razzler
I don't mind Chile going through just don't want them playing Brazil in the last 16 as that's practically a bye Croats of Mexico on goal difference and Brazil/Dutch in next round would be cool then Chile can go through with my blessing
kontermann
Spain will scrape through again thanks to the refs help

feche
According to Wiki, both Spain and Chile are 'La Roja', or the Red One. Weird. Chile has always been "The Red" and Spain "La Furia / The Fury", but after the 08 euro they "stole" the name in a way to forget his past and legitimize their new era Chile are not happy with this and some ads claim that in this match the name it's for the one who wins. TalkSport
Apparently team is :Casillas; Azpilicueta, Javi Martínez, Ramos, Jordi Alba; Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Iniesta; Pedro, Diego Costa and Silva. Xavi & Pique dropped.

Marc Albrighton
Stupid line-up. Glad Pedro and Martínez start but Xabi Alonso shouldn't be in the team. What? They were noticeably poorer when he left the field. Glad to see Pique go he was absolutely awful.
rastaman219
Line ups all over twitter. Decent line up, need the pace Pedro brings to counter Chile IMO, and have Martinez in defences gives more ball playing options
EnterUsernameHere
What? They were noticeably poorer when he left the field. Glad to see Pique go he was absolutely awful. A bit, more because of the fact they were chasing the game and leaving space than taking Alonso off though, he had a shocking game and didn't do his job in protecting the defence. Neither did Busquets, but he's better as the lone holding player which is what they should be moving towards. Oh and if they want to go for a double pivot again it should be Javi Martínez there. I think Piqué deserved to be dropped but Javi Martínez has pretty much the same weaknesses as a centre back...

TalkSport
Good message to the other spanish centrebacks isn't it? A converted dm preferred over them all.. Probably because he's better then the other CBs even if he's converted. That said I don't like seeing Martinez playing there

TalkSport
Spain really need to hammer either Chile or Australia as two 2-0 wins could well not be enough if Chile were to beat Holland by just one goal last game. Would result in Holland as group winners and Chile as runners up.

craigcwwe
As expected then only the two changes for Spain. Rio_V
I can see why they made a change. None of their midfielders give them any width at all. Pedro is a winger at least. Silva will track inside so much.
