Help with youngster

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I need help, I got this player in my youth intake:

z2Tnn0h.png

He's my hope of maybe getting to the promotion play-offs.

So I play with 3 center midfielders, BBM(S) DLP(D) CM(A), two W(A) and a DLF(S).

My best players are the DLF(S), right W(A) and DLP(D).

I want him to get the ball all the time and take the team forward, so my thinking is his abilities will be wasted on a central midfield position.

So I need help with this:

- How should I use him?

- Interior Forward(A) on my left side or put the CM(A) on an attacking midfield position with a role for a player like him, Trequartista or Enganche?

- If I put him as a Trequartista or Enganche what is the role of the forward?

Thanks in advance.

Blyth's squad ability is terrible?

It'll be difficult to turn him into the best he can be at Blyth I imagine. All you can really do is play him a lot and have him mentored by your most experienced/best player.

If you want him to dictate games he's got to be in a CM position no? I'd have him as an AP (S) from the CM position. Or if you're going to continue with you formation, the CM (A) position.

I agree with Mart,

I dont understand how he will be wasted at CM... you do realise that players like Xavi Xabi Alonso Steven Gerrard Paul Scholes Zinedine Zidane all played in CM right?

He can become good obviously im guessing his potential will be around 140-150 and his CA around 60... hes got bags of space to improve. I would first:

Decide what type of midfielder you will envision him as, what you use, what you WANT him to be and what he will likely become.

He looks like he could a very good B2B midfielder, he has good dribbling passing and finishing, superb technique and a fantastic natural fitness.

Improve his stamina and strength on a monthly rotation as with tutoring and game time his technicals will fly up.

@martplfc1 I'm on a Youth Academy only save so in Vanarama North so my ability is not good in general.

@craigd84b I agree with what you say, but this tactic is the best way I've found to make the limited resources I have work, and the work is done mainly by the dlf droping down or by the wingers, I'm afraid to having him less touches on the ball on the offensive.

You ask "how should I use him?". In all honesty you should use him how he best fits into your tactic so that it maintains its' balance. It's pointless using him as, say, a BBM if a BBM throws your tactical balance out the window. You haven't posted your tactic, so we can't say. If you want him to "get the ball all the time" that would imply a playmaker role, as playmakers in FM act like "ball magnets" so his team mates will actively look to pass to him. However if you use him as a playmaker, it still needs to balance into the rest of the team setup.

In terms of how to develop him, once you know how you want to play him then that will follow. Of course you don't have to set an individual training plan that mirrors his role on pitch - if you think a different role will develop the attributes you want him to have in a better way then use that. He's 15, so pretty much anything you want.

It's impossible to guess what his PA is. All you know is that with 4/5 stars he compares very favourably only to the rest of his team mates. To get the most out of his training, have him tutored by someone with a professional type of personality. The more professional a player is, the better he'll train. He has a Determined personality at the moment which implies his professionalism could use some improvement. If you put him on a rotational type of training plan, he'll need at least 3 months at a time on each area of training to get near to maximum benefit.

To maximise training efficiency (god I sound precocious lol) 3 months was always the minimum period to leave a player on a individual area before changing him to something else. You can change him sooner than that but he wouldn't get quite as much benefit (and you'd have to fiddle around more often).

Reading through all the changes to training in FM16 (found here http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/442638-Important-FM16-Training-Changes), nothing is listed as having changed in this regard, and if it isn't listed then there is no change :).

I asked because I never played with a Interior Forward, Trequartista or Enganche ever!

I wanted to know what to expect from these positions, because I'll have to hit the ground running with the games I'm missing until the end of the season.

So If I want him to touch the ball almost every play, it has to be a Trequartista or Enganche?

From what I read the main difference between a Trequartista and a Enganche is the area they search for space, the Enganche limits itself to the central areas, which seems to be more to my liking with wingers beside him and a forward up front.

I wouldn't change anything and play him either as the box-to-box or as the CM/A. Hell, he seems good enough to play as the DLP or even as the right-winger! (I bet he wouldn't do badly at all with his high pace and his decent crossing and dribbling). I reckon box-to-box is probably best as it'll use his full range of skills. He doesn't seem to be a specialist in anything, so why not a role that does a bit of everything and runs up and down all over the pitch all day?

Thanks for all the help.

Couldn't wait much longer and tried him as my Enganche, but my midfield doesn't hold with just two players, so moved him to Interior Forward(A) and he scored the winning goal!!!

He is like a mini Ronaldo, and it adds a twist to my tactic, he often pushes up when my DLF(S) drops down and when there are crosses for the empty space inside the area is normally him losing the full back and scoring.

He sometimes is like a secong forward and with my best crossers on the right side he is lethal, already saw him get a ball on the area, beat his man and score a goal. :D

Second game he disappeared, third game scored one, fourth game score two!!! :D

The board already asked to renew. :)

It will be heartbreaking when they come to vulture him, already had one of the best offenses, my defense was/is the problem, but now I'm scoring the extra goal to get the 2-1, 3-2 win. Most of the games missing are against teams lower on the table, I'll think I'll have a shot at getting the last place of the playoff spots.

With him being small ~1,6 ~50kg, maybe the wing is better instead of getting to fight big guys in the middle?

I'll get him some games in friendlies on the pre-season to test where he can contribute best.

8 games 5 goals 1 assist and 7.07, and we are going to the playoffs!!!

My schedule was perfect, playing with lots of club on the last quarter of the table, winning with a dubious penalty in one game, compensation time in another (had a grudge against the manager his team always injuries my top goalscorer, felt nice).

Portugal.

It was my second favorite season of FM, my favorite was taking a team o grey players to fight against relegation until the the last game which I lost, but still I learned a lot about morale, match talks, individual talks, tactics, sadly it was some versions back and most of the knowledge is gone.

This season had everything, the inconsistent start, the injury to my top goalscorer, but this time it was less time, and most important, all the other players no or minor injuries, but I had to stop for a while, read, ask stuff in the forum, analyse the team and the schedule. Found that a promising youngster had lost all of his potential, and being a project I removed him and placed another youngster who was a natural at the position, that balanced the midfield and better support for the men upfront, removed a ageing player and put a young speed merchant the left with the veteran on the bench, better ratings from both players.

So after my terrible pitch was waterlogged a few times, I got 4 games at home in a row and I used everything I could morale wise and got 3 wins and 1 defeat, after that I started t get better results and the kid comes along, instead of the stupid draws I got last season I got a soft penalty in my favor to win 1-0, then a game who ending 0-0, somehow my BBM got a shot in, and against a manager I had a grudge with.

Playoffs semi was against a team that I had won at home and lost away during the season, so I lost 1-0 away and won 2-0 at home, with the goal coming from an unexpected backup, but lost my best player of the season to injury, my right winger.

When I saw the email, 9-12 days, went to the calendar, 8 days for the match, fitness test 30 minutes. :(

Playoff final was against a team that I lost at home and won away, with the final being on neutral ground I wound 3-2 after extra-time, started losing, but was able to get the draw for extra time. And then a goal the second part of half-time and hold on for dear life.

Now it's going to be survival season, more reading, setting my 3 tactics for the season, and see if I'm not doing the yo-yo.

I can't play with my favorite team Sporting because I hate losing or drawing with them. ;)

I play a local team, Real, who has very good facilities due to two reasons, first because Benfica used and upgraded their facilities when their new stadium was being built on top of the old one and they got money from Nani being sold to Manchester United.

They got Portuguese Premier League potencial youth intakes, but in three seasons I missed fighting for promotion by 3, 2 and 0 points(lost head-to-head) with the best attack and defense!!!

So started a double challenge to get my mind out of it, new save same results, last season again missing the playoffs with the best attack, but the defense is not good, this year was unexpected and I did it. :p

I have been thinking about my tactics for next year and there is a chance I'll move my young star to BBM.

I'll keep my original tactic as a backup, and will try a counter-attack based strategy based on a 4-5-1 as I'll probably will be the weakest team in the division.

My concern is the defense, two years out there are the same, my central defenders have the cons inconsistent and hates big matches. They are inconsistent, I'm always disciplining and warning of poor form, until some of them gets a few decent games, but normally I suffer one goal every game.

I prefer playing with a defensive midfielder I don't have quality in the position, I have been training a 4-1-4-1 since last season to see if a lower quality player in a defensive midfield position helps.

Youth Academy save, so no easy replacement of players.

I have a couple of youngsters, not very good, but I'll see if they are able to get some games this season.

This type of saves are the ones where you learn the most to work with what you have.
