Downgrading a players status

Has anyone had any problems with players after downgrading their status?  I have recently downgraded some including 2 from key to rotation, I was expecting some kind of backlash but I haven't heard a peep from them.

There are a number of factors involved such as the player's age, relationship with you, ambition and perceived status (hidden values).

I wanted to ask about this too, from a slightly different perspective. I've basically downgraded everyone to a rotation player, as I am terrible at managing my squad

Will this affect a player's performance/attitude at all? Their morale hasn't changed nor have they complained.

this is surely a bug. I sign players like Romagnoli as key player to make them come.. day after signing I make them rotation so they are available to be tutored (cannot be tutored if already a senior member of squad [first team player or key player])

on previous FM they would demand a meeting immediately in most cases.
