It looks like I'm in top form this season. Hopefully this form will finally see me get a transfer to a half decent club (and not one that's constantly in and out of the top division). Still, it's great to be in form and winning this season.

January 2013 Transfer Window Update

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">

Contracts due to expire in June 2013 prior to start of the transfer window:

* David Pitt

* Brendan Petersen

* Jason Healy

* Arthur Li

King Queen - Rejected the offer of a new contract with CSKA Moscow.

David Pitt - Has rejected the offer of a new contract from Koln, as well as offers from Sporting

Lisbon, Chievo & Getafe to sign a contract with Middlesbrough. He will join them on

July 1st.

Steven Kemp - Has joined Athletico Madrid after they agreed to pay Man City £10.75m for his services.

Marek Almonde - Has joined Spanish side Racing in a £75K transfer from German side Paderborn.

Bobinho - Has moved up a Div in Greece by joining Levadeiakos in a £12k transfer.

Jason Healy - Has signed a new 4 year contract with Middlesbrough worth £13m.

Brendan Petersen - Has signed a new 2 year contract with Barcelona worth £6m.

Bob McBob - Has signed a new 5 year contract with Valencia worth £8m.

He rejected from Benfica, Fenerbahce and AZ to join Fiorentina in a £10.5m transfer.

King Queen - A day after Joo left CSKA, King Queen left the club as well. He joined Italian rivals

Juventus for £16.75m, which could rise to £33m subject to performances.

Magnus Donaldson - On the last day of the transfer window Ipswich accepted a £20m bid from Tottenham, as well

as a bid from Newcastle, but the deal could not be completed in time for the deadline, so

the transfer bids were cancelled.

dafuge - Is still in limbo at Real Madrid, as he continues to reject contracts from them. However,

when he turns 24 on July 1st he will be able to leave for no compensation at least!

Injuries

Alexei Lloyd Hooker - Has torn his calf muscle which means he will be out of action for 3 months.

Adam Wilkinson - Out for a couple of weeks with a groin strain.

Magnus Donaldson - Has pulled his hamstring and is out for a week.

Should be able to do the February friendlies tonight as well. icon14.gif

A fairly quiet month for the top performers - Magnus Donaldson stays top but didn't play due to injury.

This meant that Parker Reynolds & Ryan Andrews closed the gap on the leader to under 16 points

Elsewhere, Yhon Wi & King Queen played their first games of the season for England & Ukraine respectively.

Judging from Bulgaria's horrible defense it could have been me except for the slight problem that Bulgaria never seems to play me.

I'm in absolute shock - Kazahkstan played a friendly! icon_eek.gif Even more shocking - we won! icon_biggrin.gif (away to Luxembourg but a win's a win).

Going by the previous results against France and Russia, Kazahkstan are very capable of losing despite scoring 5. I'm just not so sure that they are capable of scoring 5.... icon_biggrin.gif

Kapono with a goal for Denmark again. Looks like he is finding his form but we managed to lose 3-1 to Paraguay at home icon_frown.gif The 5 goal scoring star is not me definitely, guessing it is a lower ranked country, their star striker tearing the opposition defence down icon_smile.gif

WW, when was the last time Moldova had a HOME friendly? I hate having to look down the list of games in the scrambled order of away teams, i usually miss them completely until I look at the standings!

Too bad no one wants to go to Moldova and play a game =p

A relatively poor month for Magnus Donaldson has meant that despite playing twice, he has slipped from 1st to 4th in the hunt for the Eurovision Striking Contest Trophy. One point ahead of him is Parker Reynolds & In Der Van Dude after good scoring performances from both of them, but out ahead by 14 points is Ryan Andrews for the Faroe Islands.

However, the real big sensation of the month was the Bulgaria 6 v 5 Kazakhstan scoreline, which saw Suk-Yo Bum score a hattrick for the victorious Bulgaria, despite a headline grabbing, MoM performance from Jason Demir who hit all 5 for Kazakhstan, thus catapulting himself back into the promotion battle for the Premier Division!!!

Elsewhere, King Queen & Benjas Kyriagkos continued their promising form in Div 3 and both look set for promotion.

Congratulations to Joo, as he picked up his first cap in the 2-1 friendly defeat by England.

Jim Alex became the first person to be sent off in this season's competition.

This could be the tightest Eurovision Striking Contest competition yet with 4 nations in the hunt for glory with just the double header of international games in June remaining, plus it looks highly likely that several players could beat the existing high points total of 163!!!

Those in the relegation playoff zones must be getting worried, as it looks like 5 could be going down from both the Premier and 2nd Divisions!

As this season is so tight at the very top, I have decided to do a little run-in fixture list for the 4 title contenders: icon_cool.gif

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">

Faroe Islands (1st) Slovenia (2nd) Poland (3rd) N Ireland (4th)

Sat: Belarus (Away) Bulgaria (Away) Moldova (Home) Spain (Away)

Weds: Hungary (Home) Kazakhstan (Home) Iceland (Home) Luxembourg (Away)

</pre>

Everyone's thoughts on who they reckon will come out on top then please? icon_smile.gif

Holy crap! I never actually thought that would be my boy banging in 5 goals. I guess the Kazahks have nobody else capable of scoring. icon_biggrin.gif Thanks for the match screenie - looks like it was a hell of a game. Jason Demir must be gutted too having brought the scores level with two late goals only to have his useless teamates concede a 6th. icon_mad.gif Hopefully, the 5 goal haul will be the start of better things. How close am I to the national record now? In a way it might be better not to break it this season (assuming I'm approaching top of he list) as it wouldn't be enough to get me the title. Could be vital in making a good challenge next time!

KUTGW.

P.S. As for my prediction, all 4 contenders seem to have at least one easy match but I2m going for Slovenia as they will play the two dodgy defences invovled in that 6-5 epic! icon_biggrin.gif
