Nice one, looking forward to seeing if this could be the season I challenge at the top rather than the usual mid table mediocrity.

Well I haven't progressed on any further than the end of November where we are at the moment, but as this is a World Cup Year I would say that you might stay near the top upto the point of the World Cup.

However as Scotland, Greece, Germany and Spain are going to the World Cup, their players could amass a previously unrivalled total - I think we might be looking at the 1st 200+ points champion!

How many more of us will they buy? icon_biggrin.gif

Looks like I'm having a decent season in Madrid, amazing after nearly being forced out last season.

World Cup 2014 Group Stage Draw

Groups A-D

Groups E-H

All of the European nations will be quite happy with this draw as it looks feasible that most of them could qualify for the Second Round, especially as there are no real groups of death!

Would be astonishing if they all progressed, but looking down the list all of them could qualify!

All in all, if your player is at the World Cup, you might be starting to dream of plenty of goals. icon_cool.gif

January 2014 Transfer Window Update

Kyle Van Smith has signed a new 5 year contract with Inter Milan worth £15m, which is £53,000pw.

Marek Almonde has signed an 18 month extension to his existing contract with Racing, which now expires in June 2015.

Alex Drew has rejected the offer of a new contract from Fulham.

Juan King has signed a new 3 year contract worth £13m, which works out at £64,000pw.

Arthur White has decided to move to Valencia from Sunderland in a £18.75m transfer. He rejected offers from Genoa & Juventus and has moved as he wanted to play in European competitions.

Steven Kemp has moved to AC Milan from Athletico Madrid for a £16.75m transfer. He rejected an offer from Arsenal to move there.

Much to the fans delight at his new club, Sneaky Ninja has moved to Arsenal from Athletico Madrid in a £13.5m transfer. He rejected the chance to join Juventus.

Therefore, Athletico Madrid have gone from having 2 superstars to 0 in the space of one month!

Chu Haowan has rejected the offer of a new contract from Blackburn.

Bobinho has signed a new contract with Levadeiakos until June 2016.

Derren Brown has rejected the offer of a new contract from Bolton.

Triple H has rejected the offer of a new contract from PSG, he feels he deserves a higher basic wage.

After the transfer window deadline has passed, Genoa have made a £15.25 + clauses offer for Bolton's Benjas Kyriagkos.

Tyler Burrows is yet another superstar to earn over 90k a week. He signs a 4 year extension with Roma worth £27m, which works out at £99,000pw.

However, Tyler Burrows has received news that his season is over. The Bosnia star has broken his leg during training and will be out of action for 5 months.

and finally... we have our first £100,000pw player! Tom Healy has signed a new 4 year contract with Arsenal worth £28m. Congratulations to him. icon14.gif

Jason Demir seems to be having his best domestic season yet with 14 goals in 18 games. icon14.gif (though I'm assuming you don't have the Portugeuese League running).

Hopefully, this will be the season he realises that potential and gets attention from the elite clubs.

Alex Drew has rejected the offer of a new contract from Fulham.

Blatently going to force that move to Pompey if it kills me icon_cool.gif

5 in 14 isn't bad for a team just above the bottom 3, hopefully I can keep Fulham up before possibly moving on for a profitable fee icon_wink.gif.

Athletico Madrid losing both their wonderkids, and Sneaky Ninja and myself could have continued together at Arsenal if i hadn't chosen AC Milan instead. But nonetheless I am very happy with that move icon_smile.gif

Had a good 1st half of the season with A.Madrid, 13 games, 7 goals icon_smile.gif

Magnus Donaldson continues his stint at the top of the table, but with the World Cup in sight, it seems unlikely that he will hold it once that starts.

Waiting to contest who will win the overall title seems to be one of five superstars: Pendros, Jason Healy, James Knowles, Julius Kapono & Tom Collantine, with I have to say my money being on either the German or the Spaniard as they are more likely to get further in the tournament.

With just 1 round to go for most guys, or in some cases no more rounds, the other main focal point is the relegation places in the Premier Div and the Second Div. In the Premier Division it seems that 5 from the bottom 6 will go down, but with Kazakhstan not having a March friendly and some of the other nations having a game, it will be a nervous wait for Jason Demir.

In the Second Division, most players will have to wait till after the World Cup as Arthur Li of Montenegro will be going, injuries aside, so this might drag on for a little while. However, with the playoff places looking like relegation spots as well, 5 from anywhere up to possibly Mike Bird in 7th could conceivably go down if results conspired against them!

Fraid not... once you've played senior international football for a nation you can't play for anyone else. (Also you are all declared for your nations so wouldn't have happened in any situation).

You're stuck with San Marino I'm afraid.

As somebody asked earlier what the highest scored to get relegated with, I thought I would draw up a little table:

Highest Points For Relegation

<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">

Season Premier --> Second Second --> Third

--------------------------------------------------------

2007/08: n/a n/a

2008/09: 23 n/a

2009/10: 31 n/a

2010/11: 54 8

2011/12: 55 48

2012/13: 67 49

</pre>

You can see that the total is increasing season on season. I think in the future, players will be relegated with higher totals when the season doesn't feature a World Cup or EURO Champs, as more players play more games in those season.

This being the opposite to the highest scoring players, where season's featuring a World Cup or EURO Champs will see the top few positions having higher scores.

and with Pendros, it just shows that good things come to those who wait.. years in the doldrums to a chance at winning the ESC.

I'd like to thank my family, my teammates...

Denmark in a tough group with Portugal, Australia & Ghana imo. 4 goals for Liverpool in 13, not so bad, not so good either. A winning-brace against and a MoM against Finland pushed me to the top of 2nd league and onto 7th in the contest. Seems like Kapono is getting along well with the national team this year. Maybe a surprise in the upcoming tournament? icon_wink.gif

Quality updates as always WW. I don't remember if we see our teams in a yearly basis but if it's not that big of a deal, may I ask for a shortlist ss showing all the teams we play for after the transfer round up? It'd be busy one after the WC I assume icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah there is one every September at the end of the transfer window. The last one is about 1/4 way down page 22 under the 3 player wages & values screenshots. icon14.gif
