The biggest is a 22,000 all seater.

Big enough for a small group game surely?

Or would they co-host with Greece.

I feel it's the only way they'll ever qualify for any major tournaments icon_frown.gif

Sorry they never host a tournament. After a while, the tournament hosts start again from the beginning.

All hell is breaking loose with the goals in group A! icon_eek.gif

Kazahkstan are down at the bottom with no wins. icon_frown.gif

Jason Demir got among the goals though. icon_smile.gif

In an ironic twist, the real life Jason Demir (my kid btw) has just recovered from a fractured arm, which left him in plaster for 3 weeks!

Pablo Gonzalez made his first start for Switzerland in ages and the Swiss were well rewarded, Gonzalez netting two and getting the MoM award as they beat the Dutch 4-2.

Good news, just makes the past few years a bit more annoying though

With some nations not playing friendlies, it was a chance for some other teams to take advantage. However, nobody would have foreseen Juan King continuing his impressive form of the season to score 5 in 2 matches to steal quite a march on everyone else in the contest! His 32 point lead has taken everyone a bit by surprise.

Leading the charge to track him down will be Parker Reynolds & Bob McBob, both on 98 points.

It was a great month for Triple H and Yhon Wi, the former recapturing some form to smash a hattrick against San Marino, whilst the latter got a brace against Austria.

Whilst defending champion James Knowles can never be ruled out, being 45 points behind the leader maybe too much for even him.

It is quite nice to see that there are big nations such as France, England & Germany in the top 10, as well as San Marino & Liechtenstein, which just shows that anyone can get in the top 10 if they have a good few games.

Eurovision Striking Contest Roll of Honour

2007/08 - Robert Boyle / Estonia ( 73 points)

2008/09 - Paddy O'Furniture / Finland ( 94 points)

2009/10 - Mike Bird / Croatia (128 points)

2010/11 - Diego Polo / San Marino (163 points)

2011/12 - James Knowles & Bob Van Bob / Germany & Portugal (158 points)

2012/13 - In Der Van Dude / Slovenia (197 points)

2013/14 - James Knowles / Germany (209 points)

On a sidenote, please don't let someone with that name (you know who I'm talking about) win this, I don't want to be doing the next season's updates and seeing that name catch my eye all the time on the roll of honour! icon_rolleyes.gificon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif

Possibly the start of a new era of football in Liechtenstein. We lost 5-4 in the last update despite Brendan's best efforts and then a solid 2-1 win over Moldova. If we can produce four goals every game then we should move up in the rankings but that said if our defense is going to concede 5 goals to Lithuania then maybe the sleeping, possibly in a coma or yet to be born, giant that Liechtenstein is may never come to fruition.

All that said I'll take 75 points and a spot in the top 10 any day.

Poor Lichtenstein, sorry I stole it from you!

One thing that endlessly annoys me is that Lithuania NEVER seem to play frendlies, I always have less caps then everyone else because of this and I am sure I could win it if you actually gave me a chance

Same here for Kazahkstan icon_frown.gif Friendlies are not unknown but seem very rare. Does nobody want to take a midweek trip to the Central Asian plains? icon_razz.gif

2 wins for Bulgaria but they need to play some decent opposition... and I didn't score. KUTGW

Important News Announcement

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know, I am off on my travels for the best part of a month in the next couple of days, so any updates I do tonight will be the last for a while.

So don't worry if there isn't much activity in this thread in the next few weeks, I will be back from my holidays refreshed and ready to continue the sign up. So if some doofus puts up a post saying "is this dead?!" whilst I'm away, ignore it - I'l be back!!! icon_biggrin.gif

(I'll repeat this after the updates tonight)

Lol, literally just posted in your thread! icon_biggrin.gif

If what I've suggested is ok then go with that, otherwise if you want me to do the predictions game by game, could you send an email tonight / tomorrow morning then please. Cheers.

Where are you going?

It feels like I'm about to visit about half of the countries in this sign up!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Starting in western Norway then interrailing east through Norway to Oslo, then onto Sweden, Denmark and Germany.

Is that where you got the inspiration for this sign-up; or vice versa? icon_biggrin.gif

Haha, no the inpiration for this sign up came from the Eurovision Song Contest.

Holiday wise, I want to get all of Europe done and dusted before I turn 26 (a few years to go yet in case you were wondering) as the price of an interrail ticket increases a lot after that. Done done most of SW Europe My gf wanted to do Scandanavia so I thought, why not?!

Looking forward to visiting the Carlsberg factory in Denmark! icon_cool.gif
