RobTheRed
I'm currently managing Nottm Forest and Ross McCormack is a very good F9. What formation suits the F9? Thanks in advance
summatsupeer
Formations are defensive positions. Really you should be thinking about what roles+duties will combine well with the F9 when attacking. Read the F9's description and instructions and think what will compliment them. Throw something together, give it a go and see if there's any issues. Otherwise your question is too generic, especially if people aren't familiar with the team your using.

Lol true but smug! are you from San Francisco? @RobKBarrow you basically want some players who run beyond the striker ...as the F9 is going to drop deep, and in theory drag a defender or two with him. So a Shadow striker or Inside forwards work... or from even deeper if you have a slower style of build up you can use a CM or BBM with get further forward. If you want to go a step further... a CM or AM player with PPMs like (gets into the area more often) would also be good. I think there may be a more prevalent PPM than that but can't remember the wording.
yonko
Another option is to use Raumdeuter.
difran8
I'd go with lowish mentalities and structured shapes. F9 has that dribble more option hardcoded. So he's running forwards in a highly congested area that makes it easy to lose the ball: if he's set incorrectly you will see many desperate long shots. You need to be patient and give him space for it to work

The most notable trait of a False Nine is his movement - so he needs space to drop into, as well as teammates attacking the space. For example in a 4-1-2-2-1 (4-3-3) he will have space to drop into without getting in the way of a teammate. With a 4-2-3-1 he may get in the way of a teammate, which means the AMC would also need to drift wide, or push forward to ensure he doesn't lack space.
