Smurf
It's very good - doesn't have a dedicated graphics card so playing 3d mode might neeed to set the graphics to low.
alfieham
Ok I usually play the game in 2d with replays in 3d. Thinks that's about the best one I've managed to find at PC World.

alfieham
Yeah i got £450 worth of vouchers as a surprise for my birthday off the wife. To be honest 3d is secondary to the amount of detail I can run in the game though.
MSCCG
I missed out on the ASUS N56VZ before it was moved along for the newer models. I was not impressed with the newer N56VJ because of the graphics card and slow HDD so I ended up ordering this instead: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/896185-REG/MSI_ge60_0nd_257us_Intel_i7_3630QM_8GB_RAM_750GB_HD_Windows.html If anyone is interested I'll come and give some feedback after it arrives. I'm planning to take advantage of the inbuilt mSATA slot and install a 128GB SSD into the machine. I'm planning to use this as my primary computer for the next few years, hopefully it will work out that way. If I get 3 years I'll be very happy. Welshace
The Lenovo for sure... unless you specifically intend to need a dedicated graphics card for anything... but for FM and other various games etc , the Lenovo is a great price.. the CPU is much better, and you have twice as much HDD space etc
alfieham
I think I'm going to purchase the Lenovo on Boxing Day. This may be a stupid question should I get Norton or are there other anti-virus that are better? Do any of them slow down the processing of FM. Yes, maybe the older versions of Norton were poor/system resource hogs but the 2012 version was very good imo and the 2013 one is seemingly even better. haunted1234
heres a list of every common laptop cpu atm http://www.cpubenchmark.net/laptop.html the more points the better, all the intel cpu's got good enough inbuild graphics to play the game, it really comes down to how big your database is you want to play with, the bigger, the database, the better cpu you should get i can give you an example, i play with a 1400 points cpu and a 15 000 database, and the gamespeed is 2,5 stars~ so if you want a bigger database, you should pick a i5, else the AMD is good enough

Nottingham Forest
Having looked through this thread and seen all the Acer ones that they have in stock. I have narrowed it down to these four; http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5755G_1175154.html http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5755G_1152340.html#DetailTop http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5755G_1152339.html http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_V3-571G_1209283.html So which one is better? I'm not that good with technical things, so I'd say that 2 and four are the better ones. I'll just be using it for FM really and the prices aren't too bad. Obviously, if you've seen a really really good Acer one that would be able to run a fair few leagues and players(100k or so) well into the future that would help as well. Thanks. Thanks. its basically 3 times the same laptop, with just either 6gb ram and dvd writer, or 8gb ram and bluray... if you need bluray take the bluray... if not get the 6gb with dvd.. theres no difference between 6 or 8gb the the i7 are obviously better than the i5

HugoP
I'm looking to get more of a notebook than a laptop that would still be capable of FM on decent settings - I'm currently looking at the Lenovo U410 with an i5, which I'm sure would manage to some degree, but I wondered on what settings would I probably need to play it on/how much of a sacrifice would I need to make compared to a larger laptop? e.g. would I be able to use the 3d graphics on a decent setting? Not quite as quick as my desktop which is couple your old but only slightly slower not enough to bother me,I'm running quite a few leagues/countries on an old save in FM12 too. It plays 3d but I don't know how good the quality is as I rarely watch it and set it down to the low settings instantly.
Robert the Spud
Hi, Can someone please advise me on how to maximise this system's performance? AMD Quad core processor, 2GHZ 3GB RAM 64-bit OS Can't remember what graphics card it is, but something like Radeon 5000. Laptop is a couple of yrs old, just wondering how many leagues and players it would support, IF I add another 2GB ram, and give the laptop a general clean-up etc. Also how to maximise performance.
Smurf
Adding more ram is about the height of it - you should be aiming for 8gb ram - but it won't speed up performance of Football manager, just the general running of your computer as more the more RAM you have the better it should be at having different programs open at the same time. The only other thing you could do is download CCleaner and do a clean up - there's online tutorials on what to do with CCleaner.
