Northernpilgrim
October was one match from perfection but that ridiculous defeat to Hertha Berlin has seen us slip further behind Dortmund, who incredibly, are yet to drop a point in the Bundesliga, and so now lead us by 8 At least our Champions League group is going to plan
samboing
i wouldn’t worry, there is a long way to go in your season to concede that Dortmund have won it already. Champions league going nicely! League form will turn around soon enough
Northernpilgrim
November was horrible and failing to win any of our last 3 league games has really hit our league position but we've safely navigated our Champions League group

Champions league going nicely! League form will turn around soon enough I'm not giving up exactly, just being realistic that Dortmund are on fire and not going to be easy to stop. Hannover 96 are a real surprise though, expected them to be mid table at best. Given that finishing second 2 seasons ago cost Zinedine Zidane the Bayern job, being unemployed at the end of the season is more than a slight possibility.
Northernpilgrim
Unai Emery finished third with Bayern in 2025 and got sacked, despite winning the Bundesliga with them the two seasons previous. Northernpilgrim
December was an unbeaten, but also frustrating month as we dropped points in the Champions League for the first time, and two more needless points went in the league too which leaves us in the top four, but a long way off the leaders although we did finish top of our Champions League group
Northernpilgrim
January was yet another month that saw us drop costly points, although we were unbeaten again and this is how the league table looks, with a home game against Dortmund next

Northernpilgrim
February should have been the month where it all came good, as we ended Dortmund's unbeaten start. Sadly, it wasn't and any hope we had of overhauling Dortmund is surely gone, after failing to take advantage of the win over Dortmund

kevhamster
That was probably a wise move given Bayern's record of not accepting anything less than being Bundesliga champions. Good luck with City!
Northernpilgrim
April was brilliant, the only match we didn't win was the first leg of the Champions League, and we overturned that in the second leg and that has guaranteed us a top three spot and Champions League football next season, with the possibility of a Champions League final this season 1 hour ago, kevhamster said: That was probably a wise move given Bayern's record of not accepting anything less than being Bundesliga champions. Northernpilgrim
We had a pretty decent final month of the season ending the campaign in third, having closed the gap to second place from 11 points when I arrived, to just two and of course there was the Champions League final and beating our nearest rivals was particularly sweet
Northernpilgrim
It's time to round up the season, beginning with the club awards night and the stats behind the season. Most red cards was Franck Kessie (2) a snapshot of the whole season The Champions League Dream Team was dominated by Manchester City players and we won three of the four Champions League player awards too

Northernpilgrim
Given the players at Man City, I decided that a new formation was needed for the coming season. In order to get the players up to speed with playing it, I organised the busiest preseason schedule I've ever done. It went pretty well
Northernpilgrim
I only brought in two players in the transfer window Fortes is a goalkeeper, as we only had one decent goalkeeper when I arrived and Jiaqi is a right back and that left my squad looking like this Whilst this is obviously a very decent squad, I did try to get one more player in, a left back, but I kept being quoted ridiculous prices, so we will have to go with what we have for now, and I'll try and find one for January

Northernpilgrim
September was perfect in the league, but there was a costly Champions League slip up So we end September 4 points clear in the Premier League but with work to do to even qualify in the Champions League

Northernpilgrim
We responded with a perfect record in November ending the month 7 points clear, although others have games in hand and two wins from our two Champions League games means qualification is assured with a game to spare

Northernpilgrim
We had 5 games in March, but only two in the league, and we won the lot and we are 10 points clear in the league, with at least two games in hand on every team in the Premier League but that is very much the calm before the storm. Just look at our remaining schedule If we go all the way in the Champions League and the FA Cup, well have to add to that: Champions League Semi Final 27th April and 4th May FA Cup Final 15th May Champions League Final 29th May. Which begs the question....... Assuming we're not going to play the Brighton game 24 hours after a Champions League Semi Final First Leg, and the game has to be played before 9th May, when do they expect us to play it?? The same applies for the second leg, due to be played 24 hours before the Tottenham game, and only 5 days before the end of the season. The next two months could be terrible! samboing
Wow! Somebody needs shooting at the premier league, as if fixtures weren’t piling up with Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday, I know they can play the Thursday vs Chelsea too be a nice easy fixture! Northernpilgrim
Unsurprisingly, April was a horror show but we only need 1 more point to win the title, we're in the FA Cup Final, and we've got a chance in the Champions League
Northernpilgrim
May was only slightly better but we did at least win another trophy, although missed out in the Champions League, so we have to settle for a quadruple and the slump in form means we end the season only 4 points clear

Northernpilgrim
Preseason was one match from perfection, and saw us add another trophy to the cabinet and we invested heavily in the transfer market too Lewis joins to increase depth at centre back Heremans is a deep lying playmaker (dm) Andrew Sproule has been signed to replace Sessegnon, who will leave the club when his loan ends and Sisse will provide backup to Heremans Which leaves the squad for the new season looking like this I am pretty happy with this, but I do think I need one more striker to complete the squad. I'll take a look later at the options in our U23 squad to see if we could maybe start developing one of them by giving them game time off the bench, which would help to keep the two frontline strikers a bit fresher as they wouldn't have to play 90 minutes every match.
Northernpilgrim
After looking at the youth teams, I've decided that 18 year old Paul Marshall is the man to take the step up. Northernpilgrim
It's been a disappointing start to the season (and that's putting it mildly) which leaves us in the bottom half. I was seriously thinking of resigning if we lost to Liverpool. The big plus is we've already played two of the big six away from home, and beaten one of them. After the final game of the month, I've decided I'll give it until Christmas, and if I am still feeling unhappy, I'll resign and see what comes up
