We had an almost perfect January, winning every league game, but exiting the FA Cup in Round 4

1929903796_Jan2043.thumb.PNG.5ed15a4c491b66cc2efade05fccf6d01.PNG

and that left us 9 points clear of Sheffield Wednesday in second, and 24 points ahead of third placed Leeds

Things could have been different though, as we were down to 10 men after 15 minutes against Notts County

There were two loan signings, and three departures, in the January window.

Dwight Jackson provides experience which will be invaluable in the run-in

and Joshua Peake is a youngster, but already good enough for the first team

February was our first perfect month since August

887225496_Feb2043.thumb.PNG.653558f2c376129100a5fce86b119237.PNG

and we're now 30 points clear of third place, with only 11 games (and 33 points) to play for

Almost there, but not quite. Champagne not open yet, but there is definitely a bottle of something expensive in the fridge in PL2.

According to the club page on FM19, our average ticket price in 2042/43 is £27. If that stays the same in the Premier League, those additional 1882 seats could generate a revenue of £50,814 per game, so £965,466 per season. So the payback period for the expansion is 39 home matches, which is approximately 2 seasons.

Smashing it! What a year, redemption is around the corner!

Thanks BillHoudini24. It was a special year, and I was considering making it my final year, but if redemption is only 'around the corner', I suppose I'd better go on ;)

Time to round up this epic season, beginning with the records set by Argyle this season

1220839673_Ptsrecord2043.thumb.PNG.424abcb09ff9c7dc322750a5039c9b86.PNG

^This is also an all time Argyle record, beating the 102 we managed in winning League 2 in 2001/2

Our club awards night has been held, and the winners are

1771009056_Awards2043.thumb.PNG.7a4395198944654ddff43a9b5035f8bc.PNG

and here are the stats behind an incredible season.

1820358259_Stats2043.thumb.PNG.db0c09046a1d4b4086449b1135d62364.PNG

Here is a quick review of the season, which shows we were top for 45 of the 46 matches

The board have decided to further increase the size of the stadium

On to player awards, and Saraki won player of the year

167653108_POTY2043.thumb.PNG.06094d8aa51c4faa763270e6abb2de9b.PNG

while Warren Butler finished third in the Golden Boot

1916631081_Goldenboot2043.thumb.PNG.3daf3e3a7c04fed4e29761440f6f855f.PNG

and we totally dominated the Championship Team of the Year, with 9 players making it

688437178_TOTY2043.thumb.PNG.a7da426dffecedd6c0c5f42497b2ea1d.PNG

The final award was for Manager of the Year. I'd have been surprised if anyone else had won it, but it's nice to have it officially confirmed :)

I got the job

1919822075_FCByes.thumb.PNG.641a901d3eecb1ab3c900b7158f95a9b.PNG

They offered me a 2 year contract, I tried to negotiate it down to a single year, but they refused. My initial plan is to take the job and if I win the Champions League in my first year, I'll retire. If I don't, I'll carry on for a second year, and I'll retire at that point anyway, as I won't get that far before FM20 Beta release.

A reasonable preseason at Barcelona, although I'm bitterly disappointed not to have picked up my first trophy of the season

918696410_Jul2043.thumb.PNG.179aa8105d640f5d1e33abc7cccbcf65.PNG

And there were three signings

1698361370_TransfersAug2043.thumb.PNG.60931e72058af4bdbeb6a8b374f8cbbb.PNG

Right back Ribeiro joins on a free from Man Utd

Right winger Ferati arrives from FC Bayern

And left winger Lemarchand joins from Angers

The perfect start continued through September

855034373_Sep2043.thumb.PNG.cf63de43b7a19210d833b79a51aeb6d7.PNG

but remarkably, we are only top by virtue of goal difference, joined on 18 points by last season's Champions, Celta Vigo

261361614_Sep2043table.thumb.PNG.6e1e39d688c9cc65828cae1e3112f751.PNG

Our position at the top of our Champions League group looks much more secure though

January wasn't too shabby either ;)

1685542608_Jan2044.thumb.PNG.7b218c5c1a17b571e49d43d0508bc380.PNG

and we have a five point lead over last season's Champions, but they do have a game in hand

54683119_Jan2044table.thumb.PNG.c35d38eb1768586299b7fdbadddc4262.PNG

In terms of transfers, there were no arrivals, but Raul Clotet is loaned out for the rest of the season, so is very unlikely to play for me again

Interesting career! But now, with FM20 on the horizon, there can be only one question: did you achieve your goal and restored your enjoyment of FM19? :D

Absolutely. This has been a fun save, and being the first manager to take Argyle to the premier league constitutes redemption I think!

We did lose the game following my announcement, but February was otherwise perfect

1729433237_Feb2044.thumb.PNG.58da15e555a4df080fa576c51b53acc6.PNG

Amazingly, we've conceded just 7 goals all season, but the league is not entirely in our own hands. If Celta win their games in hand, they'll go above us. We play at Camp Nou against them on 13th March, and that could well decide the destination of the title.

We followed a nearly perfect February with an absolutely perfect March

1562499755_Mar2044.thumb.PNG.260c35ddf2372190947c1da3235c3736.PNG

and we now sit 11 points clear, having played 3 games more. For the first time, it's in our own hands, but we have no margin for error. 8 wins from 8 and I'll end my career with another LaLiga title

On to the awards, beginning with the Team of the Year, which featured 10 Barcelona players, plus four more on the bench

1477957035_TOTY2044.thumb.PNG.ecb9f536c9948d7d9ea52bb49f1d3149.PNG

We had first, second and third in the Player of the Year

2130893796_POTY2044.thumb.PNG.a21ebabe0ff866b661b07b94e8f5f17d.PNG

Nordqvist was keeper of the Year

858760532_Goldenglove2044.thumb.PNG.8b43d55540e633db26c87bdc97a1976c.PNG

Marvin Charpentier won the Golden Boot as top scorer

893402500_Goldenboot2044.thumb.PNG.4ee41b38de23624bb217bf702e58c281.PNG

and I won Manager of the Year

I enjoyed following this, good luck with the next adventure!

Thanks Rikulec :)   Beta downloaded, but I'm not going to start a career save until after the game is fully released and I've got all the logos and name corrections in place. I enjoyed this save, and I'm glad others did too :)

Do you have a specific thing in mind for FM20?

I'm thinking of trying a save with Fort William once a database is available.
