Dimitris14
After a lot of (failed) tries I've finally managed to create a great possesion and modern 442 (a system that's on the rise worldwide) Unfortunately I'm not currently on my PC so I can't post pictures but I'll describe the tactic SK(s) FB (d) CD(c) BPD(d) CWB(a) W(s) dlp (s) bwm (d) wp(a) T(a) P or PF (a) Now I've slightly cheated here, the formation is actually an asymmetric 4-4-1-1 but it defends like a compact 4-4-2 and attacks like a 3-4-3 Team instructions: Play out of defense Focus play through the middle Narrow width Shorter passing Higher tempo Work ball into the box Be more expressive Overlap left Underlap right Counter press Counter attack Distribute to center backs Higher defensive line Standard line of engagement More urgent press Offside trap Narrow defensive width Team mentality : balanced Any opinions on the tactic? Would you suggest any changes(although as I said it works very very well) If anyone wants the tactic, just comment and I'll share it
andre62
can you share the tactic?
yellowforever
If your tactic is working well, stick to it! I'm a tinkerer myself and it often does me no good. If I was to suggest a small change then that would be your BWM. I know he's on defend but BWM don't sit very much, and considering he's having to cover a very aggressive wingback/wp pairing I'd maybe change him to a CM (D) just to hold his position a bit more. Aside from that, well done, glad to hear you're going well!
Dimitris14
@yellowforever if im honest i was thinking about doing the exact same thing, its just that my best player and captain is a natural bwm (d) and im slightly hesitant to change his role
