Another two wins and a 19 point lead in the league. Some players have gone away for the World Cup so we are a little under strength at the moment but it has not really had any effect on results.

Hey, I like that map definitely, so I'm willing to have it, you can attach the file to me or pm me the map. I started out at Seychelles, so obviously for me I need to go to Madagascar first in order to do Mauritius and Reunion first before going to Africa.

Yeah I can edit the map for you so it has countries I may not have let me know if there are any and I will PM you the map with countries you have that I don't and any I have you don't. Will PM you the map itself as is for now.

Really impressive results!!

I am very surprised to be honest about our performances in Europe, but was expecting the domination domestically based on what had happened in the likes of Qarabag and Dinamo Tbilisi.

This month we captured the title for the fourth time in a row, which means at this stage, we have nothing to play for as manager of Astana since we will be leaving at the end of the season. It's time that I started casting my eyes to the jobs available in Kyrgyzstan.

The Champions League is back again this year, and we have been handed another pretty tough group with Manchester City, Inter Milan and Red Bull Salzburg, but have started in the best possible way with a home win against Inter Milan, even though we will not have a chance to win the Champions League because we will leave half way through the tournament I would still like to qualify the club for the later stages. In the league normal service continued with wins across the board, an unbeaten season looks pretty likely at this stage.

This month we had a little reminder of the gap between us and a team like Manchester City as we got smashed 5-1 away. We did however get the win against Red Bull Salzburg and at the moment we are looking good to qualify for the second round. In the league we did have a draw, but we are now a game away from securing an unbeaten season as a sign off to our exploits in Kazakhstan.

We kind of blew our chance to qualify for the next round of the Champions League by drawing in Austria and losing in Italy, which to be fair was always going to be tough. We may need to beat Manchester City on the final day to qualify for the next round, whatever happens we will at least be in the final stages of the Europa League. In the league we completed the unbeaten season in style with a 7-0 win. We ended up on goal difference of +115 which is pretty amazing.

What a way to leave Astana, by beating Manchester City 4-1 in front of our fans and qualify for the second stage of the Champions League. In the end we needed to win as Inter Milan beat Red Bull Salzburg on the final day, so I am delighted we came through in this way.

Not really sure why the colours while I am unemployed have changed to the Astana colours. Also for some reason I now have FK Astana as one of my favoured clubs, obviously Levan enjoyed the experience of managing them.

Final Thoughts on Kazakhstan

When I first joined Astana, I knew that we would likely dominate domestically, as the resources of the club were huge and we were a very reputable club domestically. However what surprised me most was how we managed to compete domestically. During my tenure we beat Chelsea, Valencia, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Marseille, St Etienne, CSKA Moscow and many other good sides as we became a very dangerous side to play, especially in the depths of Kazakhstan. We destroyed Schalke twice which exemplified the difficulty of playing us in Kazakhstan. In the end domestically we absolutely dominated the league, no one came close to challenging us, although obviously it does not close to the kind of domination we enjoyed at Olmaliq in Uzbekistan where went undefeated for four years.

Kazakhstan was an interesting place to manage, it has a difference feel to Uzbekistan due to the European football. I was amazed that we were able to improve the standard of the competition up to 10th in Europe, that is a seriously good league, although it was mostly predicated on our performances in Europe. At Astana we had way more money than we could spend, so early on we just improved the foreigners and just got the best Kazakh players we could get. Some of the players we got in, might be the best players we have ever managed in this save, so that was interesting; possibly some at Krasnodar were better but it is close.

Where next? Well there is only one direction to go now, and it is towards Kyrgyzstan.

Managerial Appointment

7b60b9a533df50e909481b7a00879096.png

We have got our job in Kyrgyzstan and this may well be the biggest challenge we have had as there were no jobs available or even under pressure in the top division clubs, so we have dropped down to the 2nd Division, to a bit of a fallen giant of Kyrgyz football in Alga Bishkek. We will need to really be brilliant here to get out of Kyrgyzstan in four years, or get picked up by a big club in the top division. We have also now returned to Asian football, we will not be back to European football for a very long time I reckon.

The journey from Nur Sultan (Astana) to Bishkek near the Kazakh border in Kyrgyzstan

The City of Bishkek

a8b6a3c605ebd6d584295c41be1c8f64.png

Originally a caravan rest stop (possibly founded by the Sogdians) on one of the branches of the Silk Road through the Tian Shan range, the location was fortified in 1825 by the Uzbek khan of Kokhand with a mud fort. In the last years of Kokhand rule, the Pishpek fortress was led by Atabek, the Datka.

In 1860, the fort was conquered and razed by the military forces of Colonel Zimmermann when Tsarist Russia annexed the area. Colonel Zimmermann rebuilt the town over the destroyed fort and put field Poruchik Titov as head of a new Russian garrison. The site was redeveloped from 1877 onward by the Russian government, which encouraged the settlement of Russian peasants by giving them fertile land to develop.

In 1926, the city became the capital of the newly established Kirghiz ASSR and was renamed "Frunze" after Mikhail Frunze, Lenin's close associate who was born in Bishkek and played key roles during the revolutions of 1905 and 1917 and during the Russian civil war of the early 1920s.

The early 1990s were tumultuous. In June 1990, a state of emergency was declared following severe ethnic riots in southern Kyrgyzstan that threatened to spread to the capital. The city was renamed Bishkek on 5 February 1991 and Kyrgyzstan achieved independence later that year during the breakup of the Soviet Union. Before independence, the majority of Bishkek's population were ethnic Russians. In 2004, Russians made up approximately 20% of the city's population, and about 7–8% in 2011.

Today, Bishkek is a modern city with many restaurants and cafes, and with many second-hand European and Japanese cars and minibuses crowding its streets. However, streets and sidewalks have fallen into disrepair since the 1990s. At the same time, Bishkek still preserves its former Soviet feel with Soviet-period buildings and gardens prevailing over newer structures.

Bishkek is also the country's financial center, with all of the country's 21 commercial banks headquartered there. During the Soviet era, the city was home to a large number of industrial plants, but most have been shut down since 1991 or now operate on a much-reduced scale. One of Bishkek's largest employment centers today is the Dordoy Bazaar open market, where many of the Chinese goods imported to CIS countries are sold.

Alga Bishkek History

d74056c221a44b13b09e48521507d4b1.png

Alga Bishkek were established in Frunze during 1947, as FC Zenith Frunze. At the end of the 2005 season, the club, now called FC SKA-Shoro Bishkek, folded. In 2007 the club was reformed as FC Aviator AAL Bishkek, but last only half a season before ceasing operations. In 2010 the club was again reformed, this time under their previous name FC Alga Bishkek.

Not a lot of information on the club

Stadium

3c0d7645f2cbec1497b6cbadc3d7a7e8.png

We play in Naryn, not sure if it is a bug, but the club should be from Bishkek. Anyway the stadium the Dordoy that the club play at I believe is the one above and holds 1,500 people.

Current Position

76cf3b3a4d9664f88068d6a71a30a836.png

Not a good season last season. We will need to improve a lot, however there are so many B and Youth sides that presumably cannot be promoted that we need to focus on the real lower league clubs and finish above them.

Squad Overview

10d493588ebe2ad258300479a5c1052c.jpg

No Assistant manager at the club, so I have not been able to work out exactly the quality of each player, but here is the squad. We need to get in an assistant manager as a first step so that we can assess the team and see where we need reinforcements.

The win against Neftci Kochkor-Ata confirmed us as division champions and we are promoted to the Shoro Top League. We are still undefeated this season and I would like to complete the season that way. It should also be noted that in slightly unrelated but quite amazing news, our B team Alga-2 have managed to somehow reach the final of the Kyrgyz Cup. Not sure how they managed that but that is quite amazing.

30 Year Retrospective of Football

Every 30 years within the game, what is generally defined as a "generation", I will bring you a post that will look at what has been happening in the world of football to provide some context as we go forward. We have just passed 1st Jan 2048, so it has been 30 years in game.

World Cup

2a9d1b46db388073f56ec9f1c662fe60.png

There have been 7 World Cup's since the start of the game and only Spain have managed to win 2, every other time there has been a different winner. Perhaps the strangest winner was Sweden back in 2026, who beat their Scandanavian rival Norway in the Final in the North American World Cup. Paraguay have also got to a final , where they lost to England which is again a little unusual.

UEFA European Championship

40a33317b3391c7aa6cab588e1720786.png

Spain have also been the best team in European Championships over the period winning it between 2020 and 2028, all 3 times, beating Italy twice and France once in the final. England have also won two where they had a good spell of dominance together with their World Cup win. Switzerland is probably the strangest finalist, but Greece won the whole thing in 2004, so who am I to talk.

UEFA Nations League

3b470ca9f7ac1a72a041a4f71d177a85.png

In the Nations League, France have been the best with 5 Nations League titles, closely followed by Germany on 4. Perhaps the most strange is Spain only capturing it once, but they have lost the final plenty of times. Germany have also been unlucky losing 4 finals.

Copa America

47d1427044f6365e16f63af59731d498.png

For a decade, Brazil were the team to beat winning the first 4 Copa America titles, followed by Argentina winning two and now Colombia appear to be the cream of South America with two of their own.

UEFA Champions League

a03da9a9765ea1ee702aebaab8d3afe4.jpg

No massive surprises here perhaps from FC Porto winning another Champions League in 43/44, but apart from that the likes of Paris Saint Germain with the 9 titles have been the most successful, alongside Atletico Madrid with 6 themselves. Man City, Man Utd, Juventus, Real, Bayern have also won a few. In terms of finalists, Sevilla reaching two finals over the period is probably the most surprising.

UEFA Europa League

d0d8667bf345c7a8407df0945d575622.jpg

Nothing too amazing in the Europa League, lots of different winners, all capable of it. Probably the most surprising would be our FK Astana team making two finals in 3 years.

FIFA World Club Cup

69c383b9634bcb96fe4490b1910eaeff.jpg

European teams dominate, apart from the one year when Iranian side Persepolis won it.

The biggest transfer was the guy above Capitao from Sevilla to Barcelona for £167m back in 2037.

Top 10 Managers of All Time

ad2aaa97fb647b81431fa574c5d20afa.png

Thomas Tuchel is the best manager of all time, he won over 100 trophies, he leads Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp. Ayxan Abbasov is an interesting one because he has absolutely stormed Russian titles with Spartak Moscow, ever since we left Azerbaijan, unfortunately he has now retired so won't be adding to that points total.

Best Georgian Manager

70ecd53411d9dbbc93af08f4582ad17a.jpg

In Georgia, I will forgive you for thinking we are the best Georgian manager of all time. That is not the case, Avto (played for Gil Vicente in Portugal), has become a World Class Manager and he has just replaced the retiring Thomas Tuchel in charge of PSG. He has won lots of title with Qarabag, a few with Dinamo Tbilisi, before moving on to the likes of AC Milan, FC Porto. He is leading the Georgian list with quite a few more points than us.

We have been awesome, after starting with a draw we suddenly went on 5 game win streak to top the table and open up a 4 point gap at the top of the league. It is early days yet, but we are looking very good. In the cup we made it through to the 2nd Round.

We have been absolutely brilliant this month as we continue our great start to the season. We are the surprise package this season as we open up a huge lead in the league of 12 points over Alay. Dordoy do have games in hand so they can come back at us a little, but at the moment everything that could go right has gone right.

At the start of the month we booked our place in the Kyrgyzstan Cup Final by beating Dordoy-2. We face the real Dordoy in the final. The draw against Kara-Suu was enough to secure the league title for us as was now expected due to our mammoth lead in the league. We are going from strength to strength, and next year we will be competing in the AFC Confederation Cup, a tournament we won twice with Balkan several years ago, I would love to add another one with Alga.

October is the final month of the season, and the league was already wrapped up for us. We were going for an unbeaten season but this dispelled when Alay beat us at home 2-1 inflicting our first league loss as manager of Alga. We did however get our hands on more silverware as we won the cup final in the final minute against Dordoy 3-2, to make it a double for our first season back in top flight football. A very good season all told and next season Asian football to look forward to.

The Asian Confederation Cup was drawn and we face to Tajik sides in Istaravshan and Hosilot F and a side we know very well in Turkmenistani side Ahal. Things did not start well as we lost to Istaravshan in our first game but recovered to beat Ahal. So we are not out of it, but only one team qualifies for the next stage, so we have no room to manoeuvre now.

I am pretty disappointed this month, as we tumble out of the Confederation Cup, we barely got going at all in the competition and were out as soon as we lost again to Istaravshan. In the league we have been good, but I am annoyed at our performances in Asia, it was not good enough.

There is a still fair bit of the season to go but it does not look like we are going to be caught at we open up a 20 point lead this season. It is going to take an almighty collapse at this stage to give them any chance.  We are also through in the cup getting through the 2nd and 3rd Rounds, with the 3rd Round being a good win against 3rd placed Alay.
