Hard to say for sure that it's worth the extra £400 if FM if the only game you're playing though. Many’s thanks for a great thread Matt The first one is fine for FM24. FM25 is harder to predict as we don't know what the system requirements will be, so we're working with the assumption that a dedicated graphics card will be needed for 3D. On that basis, the cheapest thing I can see that fits that criteria is this one, which is refurbished but with a 12 month warranty: https://www.laptopstation.co.uk/products/medion-gaming-laptop-crawler-e30-12th-generation-core-i5-16gb-ram-512gb-ssd-nvidia-rtx-graphics-15-6-144hz-fhd-screen

The buy now pay later option with Argos is my preference at the moment. My thinking was to get the Levono one as it was reasonably cheap and then upgrade again in a year or two. Ted1438
Hi all, Long time admirer of FM here, playing up until FM13 and more recently back into CM01/02 and now looking to get back into FM24 as my recent laptop has given up. I’m looking for a laptop at around £450 top budget and it can be refurbished to reduce cost. The ability to watch in 3D would be nice and willing to watch in lower settings and have around 5-10 leagues loaded. I’m not too fussed at this moment in time to ensure it is FM25 ready but it would be nice to be in with a chance if poss… I really have no idea of laptops and have been looking around and would welcome suggestions. Laptop will be used for light surfing (so my wife thinks!) and purely FM. Seen the below but really unsure on what is best out there so will be led by those on this forum. https://m.dell.com/h5/m/r/outlet.euro.dell.com/Online/SecondaryInventorySearch.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdfb1&l=en&s=dfb&sign=PXhcOSHtr1T4IOw%2fPR7Udbll5BGV%2bg8IVhPrjAlKbhKVlYBtv4gV6l8DJBZXzpHDGl5C20Je3sB2zw29dhRwZgJwzoGxK0jFj3bnCec4Qwin9TfmBqg7lsKyYyv6Cgza25PycEfvuxBUX%2fAgZdQLNQJ%2bBhzQqtrvuYKIyPgf8PPdCveSrcKlNXkq7GP54K3iLSCg%2bIkvveD4eekBqPLVIUlSENgcf7ZWa97uX0MCaz5fARQ1TozbFj%2bPQdWXZVNA3yowxcZMIpE%3d https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195914142554?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=W41dZevUSGe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=LXYkI7-LSOm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355078903861?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=XWSbCNjsQka&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=LXYkI7-LSOm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115915078541?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=gZxgSrYHRfC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=LXYkI7-LSOm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Thanks! FM25 is harder to say - we don't have any indication of system requirements yet and I have asked! I am working on the assumption that a dedicated graphics card is a good idea for thinking of FM25 and beyond. Graphics wise, this will be fine for medium settings on 3D, possibly higher. In terms of how many leagues/database size etc we don't comment on that specifically as everyone's expectation of what a good processing speed is will be different. Stronger CPU and dedicated graphics card as well as 16GB RAM.

Hard to say for sure that it's worth the extra £400 if FM if the only game you're playing though. If FM is the only game you're thinking of, then I'd probably consider this one (from the previous post) as better value for money. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3-15.6-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-rtx-3050-512-gb-ssd-10249077.html Agree with this. Better to put the money aside for your next laptop and upgrade a bit sooner. The one Kev recommends is fine for now and will almost certainly run FM25 just fine. Edit: might be worth looking at an extra 8gb of RAM though. It's cheap right now and will improve your experience, especially if you like to open a bunch of Chrome tabs while playing, like I do Edited November 8, 2023 by Gangor
mattleeds
Thanks for the great work guys. Decided I want a new laptop for fm24 and don’t really want to spend much as will only be for playing fm. Got it down to these 2. Both seem very similar spec to me. Is one particularly better than the other? https://www.currys.co.uk/products/hp-15sfq2570sa-15.6-laptop-intel-core-i5-256-gb-ssd-silver-10250738.html https://www.currys.co.uk/products/asus-vivobook-15-x1500ea-15.6-laptop-intel-core-i5-512-gb-ssd-black-10240161.html many thanks Matt

In terms of other aspects, the Asus appears to have more USB ports, but the HP seems to have the better battery. Other than that, performance for FM should be the same for both. Thanks Kev, went to purchase and had sold out! However there is this on the site and reduced, Just want to check this will work for FM24 and the deal is decent enough. It’s refurbed which I’m fine with https://www.laptopstation.co.uk/products/lenovo-ideapad-3i-12th-generation-core-i5-16gb-ram-256gb-ssd-10-core-processor-15-6-fhd-screen-laptop?_pos=4&_fid=643e38fd4&_ss=c
Mr_Maz
Hi all, I need to replace my laptop to something that will support FM24 and ideally FM25. I appreciate that nothing is confirmed in regards to sys requirements for FM25 yet, but would appreciate some guidance. I live in the Netherlands but can buy from the EU or in the UK . No fixed budget, under 1k would be nice, but room for 1.5k 15-17 inch, no other preferences. Thanks
Josh_14
Looking at getting back into fm after a missing the last 2. Work laptop has packed in so looking at this https://www.currys.co.uk/products/lenovo-yoga-7-14-2-in-1-laptop-amd-ryzen-7-512-gb-ssd-grey-10254255.html It’s perfect for work just wondering how it would run fm24( ideally in 3d) and potentially fm25. If not could you recommend anything for a similar price?

If you can provide examples of sites you'd use in the Netherlands as well as which sites from the UK you know will ship to you and I'll have a look.

When it comes to FM25, I'd not currently be confident about suggesting anything without a dedicated graphics card, just to be on the safe side.
