I'm Back! :D

So, my graphics card died after Xmass and I didn't play any games and just spent time with my family and working.

But I'm back now and was mulling a lot as to what tactic would I love to play and then I stumbled upon early 2010 Barca highlights. And then Youtube decided I should watch more of that and then I did. So in a kind-of way I created this beauty.

image.png.0d42efa9a0f2b7d039d9dc67393880ca.png

And first game back and with this tactic was against Dinamo, Eternal Derby.

unknown.png?width=369&height=683

Two of our goals were absolutely beautiful, free flowing football. Amazed at what I managed to create.

Why do you have the tactic on cautious, any particular reason?

Also did you change your username, I could have sworn it was something different earlier.

I'm using cautious as it's been proven by many on Tactics forum that it's best for tiki-taka type of football. I've also observed myself that Positive and above leads to a lot of unforced mistakes, punting the ball up the field and generally a lot of risky passes. Cautious means that I will retain the ball more and look for safer option when passing. And having Very Fluid fluidity means that my wingers, tho IF, will come back and cover for marauding wing backs as seen in pic below.

image.png.153db509428c49ac4171329f882b6a21.png

And since IF has Positive mentality he will try and play riskier passes. Only my wingers and Trequartista are on Positive mentality. Everyone else is on Cautious and my center backs are on Very Defensive.

This goal was a punt from one of their defenders up front and my center back Ivancevic with his 20 Jumping Reach won the header and passed to my other CB and this was the pass for the goal.

C4BUN7O.gif

Trequartista will move deep and make a run behind the defensive line as well as move wider to allow Mez/IF to make a run between full back and central defender for a 1v1.

Also, below is the other goal I scored vs Dinamo that is straight out of Alba-Messi textbook of connections :D

keD5PhA.gif

And yes, I did change my nickname. Now that I'm more active I wanted to get something that I use(d) on both forums and discord community I'm active on. The old nickname is too revealing for anyone who knows me even remotely. I like to keep my online presence as anonymous as I can :D

Could you tell me how your players have so high ratings? Are you using some training schedule if you could please answer me.

Do you mean training ratings or match ratings? If you mean player ratings I went lazy this year and downloaded this and just use pre-season ones by week and Technical 1 and 2 game. Last year I consulted some pro footballers and got my own working pretty damn good but I was too lazy to make those 6-7 schedules and just downloaded RDF ones when they came out.

How do you upload these clips?

Using ShareX. It's just an easy shortcut and it automatically uploads to for example imgur.com and then just copy the link here.

Good tip! I have just been leaving training to my assistant all this while.

You use only the technical schedules during season time?!

Yeah that's mental! Don't you have players complaining?

I have one player complaining about lack of quickness but he has 9 for acc and pace so what the hell is he complaining about :D But that's been like that since I started the save, one player complaining about quickness. I get a lot of 8,9 in training and often a 10.

Got it. Trying out these training schedules - let's see how it goes.

October, November, December 2023 Update

We have closed the gap in the League at the expense of some results in the Champions League but I am happy to walk away with 2 wins against three very hard opponents. We were in the game to go through until very last moment but we folded against Valencia.

Bit of Analysis Dec 2023

image.png.c22d82611890345fb7055ce0352e0aa2.png

We are outperforming out xG/game but we concede on par with what is expected which means my keeper is dead on average. Once again the concern is shots on target %.

image.png.3a492418a965f0c9a63acfed5993454e.png

Left hand side is worrying but that is the side where Lovric is playing as first option. And I cannot argue with him being joint-best goalscorer at 16 alongside Arezo. Muric has the most assists with 8 and you can see that on right wing.

And all the tinkering left me with this tactic. With striker being the only one I can't decide on. Might have to take it up to tactics forum...

Winter Transfer Target

image.thumb.png.d1aaae66fb2cc2809a5b668c476a44fb.png

I will be looking to bring in this 19 year old. He would already be a star in my club but has heaps of talent. With some injuries in the club I wanted to bring him so I can overtake Osijek and threepeat in the league and possibly have a treble this season. I made a bid a year ago on him but he wanted some crazy stuff in his contract as well as promises to improve areas of team that need no improvements so decided to bow out of the deal and give chance to Brnas and Kubista.

Transfer fee would be €7.5m no future percentage of deal or clauses. Meeting his asking price.

Three New Signings! Jan 2024

Erismar is going straight into first team while Nijs and Oudin are signings for future and hope I can develop them at the club. All three are somewhat pricey compared to previous signings but gotta start investing in club as well.

Starter Leaves :( Jan 2024

image.png.06bcfdae8bea9b5f0d8fa0f6268c6b41.png

image.png.1fc11434b56d4fe325c14932d1d102bb.png

One of the best Croatian right backs in the game that I can afford. Shame that he is leaving but didn't want to sign a new contract and I decided to cash in on him. Below are his league stats during Hajduk stint. He mostly played in European cups as I rotated heavily with Bartolec.

image.thumb.png.dcba861a7de1c9bb4493f119a0f74c9b.png

Now to find a new right back. In our own back yard we have the following...

image.png.f4e4a61986f113b0435858516ecd1735.png

Now a first option but am not happy with that situation due to his poor mental attributes.

image.png.eb55537d9906601572f4a82a5d7d5cc1.png

Plenty of potential, good physicals, not bad mentals but poor technically going forward. Might not be a bad option but only as a backup once Bartolec leaves.

Aaaaaand that's it!

Looks like I will be shopping this January some more :)

Croatian Right Back Problem

Main Squad, U21, U20, U19, U18 in order...

Jedvaj, Sutalo too expensive and not real right backs. Vrsaljko is too old. Not a single option for me in Main Squad. In U21 Tomek and Djolonga are my players. Tomek is a center back, Djolonga is not good enough going forward (screenshot above, stats below). U20 has no players that would be right backs. U19 has Malenovic and Bigger both of whom I am scouting but neither look like will be first options for NT. U18 has few players but realistically, if they were worth something they'd be in U21.

Another HGC player in first team. Rest of the players was similar to Djolonga, not scouted properly or just too expensive.

I had made a transfer bid to Real Madrid for Carvajal with Madrid covering €3.5m wages and me only paying app fee and clauses. But Dani wanted 5 month contract and that was out of the question for me.

Goodbye to a Legend! Feb 2024

unknown.png

Alen wanted to go and I was not the one to hold him back. I got a decent amount of money for him as well as percentage of next sale. He is going to CSKA Moscow. I rejuvenated his career tho he never made an appearance to NT again.

Over the years he was the staple of my team and made 103 league apps, 5 league goals and 27 assists which is pretty good for someone who did not play all 90 minutes all the time.

His career stats for Hajduk are 116 starts, 43 appearances as sub, 9 goals, 38 assists and 7 Player of the Match awards. In total 159 appearances.

image.thumb.png.37a1561f6b463b35b85736031329218e.png

For comparison this is Alen at the start of the save.

Right Back Transfer Target Feb 2024

image.thumb.png.29588475481d40857f70c35580f24e28.png

Tomasso Barbieri is real life Novara youth academy graduate who is playing for Juventus U23 team in Serie B. Has solid personality, as seen below, and is solid all-around with some potential to fill. Not expensive at €240k and I can definitely make some money on the young Italian. Not a world beater but also not a sieve at the back.

We got back to the top of the league!  It's a close one but we should win this one now that I have come to terms with tactic....which is totally different than the one I showed few posts before. I post these so you can see the struggle I am going through. I try to be as pragmatic as I can be while playing the beautiful football.

image.png.f039492b43b7cb100325d478e55a22f9.png

Wide forwards and striker have Roam from position and everyone else is default PI. From the results above you can see I kind of solved my striker issues.

Youth Intake 2023/24

image.thumb.png.4edb16e4339c93e8d79204488773342e.png

I usually sign most of the players. This just makes me angry and I want to discard everyone. Combination of personality + 3* PA max is reason enough to fire the HoYD who looks really good.

edit - I decided to give my HoYD another chance.

Home-Grown Status Update Mar 2024

image.png.42eb28a715c4a938b2a343cb6b6a56ee.png

This is the first team currently heading into the final stretch of the season. And currently we have TWELVE! (12) Home-Grown Club players and 8 Home-Grown Nation players.

If I were to make a starting 11 of these players it'd have to be...

image.png.7558be8323f123a46e56bbd45b7f7958.png

Which is mightily close to what I would start in league. I will have to do it when Cubelic comes back fully from injury. Maybe once we win the league.

The goal of starting 11 Bili Tići players is coming really close!

Yeah, he's amazing, @karanhsingh and @HurkaDurk69. Below is the comparison from when he came through youth intake. He was purely a central mid but nothing screamed midfielder about him. So I went and made him a central defender.

Dribbling +3, First Touch +2, Heading +3, Marking +4, Positioning +5!!, Anticipation +4 (mainly due to playing competitive football a lot at young age), Concentration +4, Decisions +3, Jumping Reach +5!, same as Strength.

I am really pleased with how he developed and getting his composure, concentration by few more points and he should be permanent figure in my starting 11 for years to come!

Heading being only 10 is a shame but that doesn't mean he wins less headers, it just means his headed clearances go wild most of the time.

And he grew by 3cm and gained 12kg of weight!

March April 2024 Recap

Two unbeaten months. We have Gorica, 6th in League, in Cup final. With two points seperating me and Osijek it's gonna be tough in last three games.

I have Belupo, Osijek (decider) and Lokomotiva. Osijek has Rijeka, me and Gorica. Both are tough.

image.png.323bcf7469cc09cf61fb4e282d8a18e8.png

No change in description of Personality. Still says Temperamental.

Also, I have to moan that they made is so inconvenient to review goals/chances after the game by hiding the timeline on match report. That makes me irrationally angry.

Amazing performance by the team tho.
