We are seven points clear of second, and 11 clear of third, after a dozen games, but we still have 15 more to play. I’ve been busy with research for the winter update but now have that done apart from any transfers in or out, takeover (unlikely), and publishing of the overdue accounts (even more unlikely)... ...but, for now, it’s back to this save and Undrid Fotboltsfelag. Stuniverse
Saturday 5th June 2021 TOP OF THE TABLE CLASHPREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II Torshavn Sports: A great 5-2 win away at Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II last time. Stuniverse: Yes, once again the players put in a fantastic shift and were ruthless in front of goal. Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard bagged a brace, and Hordur Hentze Johansen, Benamin Knudsen and Asi Ramussen chipped in with one each. We got a bit sloppy towards the end, and let in two late goals, but I'll take a 5-2 win away from J & K Vollur any day of the week. Torshavn Sports: Dalsgaard is on fire, isn't he? 24 goals in 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season and, incredibly, his 21 goals from 12 league matches leaves him just four short of the all-time 2. Deild record. With 15 2. Deild matches left to play he must be a shoe-in to break the record. Stuniverse: Bjarni has been unbelievably good this season. Let's not jinx it, but I hope he can break the record because he certainly deserves it for all the hard work he's put in. Torshavn Sports: And football matches don't come any bigger than today's home clash with second-placed Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II. A win today at J & K Vollur would open up a 10 point gap for you at the top. Stuniverse: Yes, it would, and that's what we're looking to achieve, but Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II beat us 1-0 at vid Lokin earlier in the season, so it won't be easy. Stuniverse
Saturday 12th June 2021 PREVIEW: Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II v Undrid Fotboltsfelag Torshavn Sports: A fantastic 3-1 victory over 2nd placed Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II last time out, but were you worried when they pulled one back for 2-1? Stuniverse: Thank you. It was a fantastic win and the players were magnificent. We deserved to lead 2-0 at the break through two goals from Hordur Hentze Johansen. They got one back on the hour and, whilst I was't exactly worried because I have complete trust and confidence in this squad, I was conscious that they'd beaten us 1-0 at their place earlier in the season. The boys dug in, never looked like conceding an equaliser, and restored our two goal lead through Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard late on. Torshavn Sports: The win puts you 10 points clear at the top and you're guaranteed to be top of the league when we pass the halfway stage of the season later today. Surely promotion is in the bag, isn't it? Stuniverse: We've put ourselves in great position after a sensational start to the season. In fact, our 34 points after 13 games would've been good enough for a 5th placed finish over the full 27 game season last campaign. But we can't afford to think about promotion being in the bag, or get complacent and take our foot off the pedal, because there's still plenty of football left to be played and 42 points to be contested. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us still. Torshavn Sports: Frandsen was stretchered off last weekend and it didn't look good. How is he? Stuniverse: It's not good, sadly, and Kasper's in a bad way. Physically he's ruptured his achilles tendon and we won't see him on the pitch again this season. Mentally, at 34 years old, he's wondering if he's played his last game. Our medical team will look after him and we'll all stick by him here at Undrid Fotboltsfelag. Torshavn Sports: Send him our very best wishes for a speedy recovery. Stuniverse: Thank you. We will. And today we're also missing Sjurdur Pauli Chin Nielsen who's away with the Faroe Islands Under 21s. Torshavn Sports: Today you travel to Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II, who are one place above the relegation zone. How do you see this one going? Stuniverse: There's no doubt we've made ourselves a scalp to be taken and I'm sure Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II will be fired up to play us, but we're confident we can keep our good run of form going at vid Margair today. Stuniverse
Saturday 19th June 2021 PREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Boltfelagid Royn Torshavn Sports: You had to come from behind against Fotboltsdeild EB/Streymur II, but Undrid emerged as 4-2 winners to keep your superb run of form going? Stuniverse: Yes. It was a hard game for us which shows how competitive 2. Deild actually is. But the players came through it and claimed three valuable points. We weren't at our best, conceding two goals, but we'll take the win and move on. Torshavn Sports: Back home again to face 6th placed Boltfelagid Royn at J & K Vollur. Stuniverse: Yes. We're looking forward to playing in front of our wonderful supporters and are confident of sending them home happy. Torshavn Sports: With an incredible record of 23 goals in 14 2. Deild matches, Dalsgaard is two goals shy of the divisional record with 13 matches remaining. A brace today would see him equal the record, a hat-trick would see him break the record. Can he do it against Boltfelagid Royn. Stuniverse: Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard is a phenomenal striker, he's a pleasure to work with, and hopefully Bjarni can break that record sooner rather than later. Stuniverse
Sunday 27th June 2021 PREVIEW: Argja Boltfelag II v Undrid Fotboltsfelag Torshavn Sports: You suffered your first league defeat in 11 matches when you lost 1-0 to Boltfelagid Royn. It was a disappointing and unexpected loss. Has your bubble burst? Stuniverse: I hope not. We weren't at it, for some reason, against Boltfelagid Royn but you also have to give Royn a massive amount of credit - they rose to the challenge of playing the league leaders and were a credit to their football club. We know we can play better though and we have to. Hopefully it was a blip, a one-off, a glitch. Torshavn Sports: Second placed Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II drew yesterday with 07 Vestur II yesterday meaning you can stretch the gap at the top to 11 points with 11 matches remaining with a win today. Stuniverse: That would be the ideal outcome, of course, bouncing back with a win and that's what we'll be striving to achieve today. It hurt losing to Royn last weekend, it hurt a lot, but seeing Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II dropping points has lessened the blow slightly, but we have to capitalise on it by doing our job at Argja Boltfelag II today. Torshavn Sports: Argja Boltfelag II are 6th so this is a match you really should be winning. Stuniverse: You can't say that. No team has a divine right to win any game. Argja Boltfelag II only got relegated last season because their first-team were relegated from Betri Deildin Menn. They finished 17 points above second bottom so shouldn't be in 2. Deild on merit. Argja Boltfelag II got off to a slow start, but have been climbing the league table of late, as we fully expected them to do, so it won't be easy for us at Skansi Arena. Torshavn Sports: Not only is Frandsen ruled out with an Achilles injury but Vittenbach is suspended. Any other doubts? Stuniverse: No. That's it. We won't see Kasper Frandsen playing again this season. You have to expect suspensions at this stage of the season, players will pick up yellow cards and every five yellows means a ban. Frederik Vittenbach is disappointed to miss out and he knows that if someone - probably Benjamin Knudsen or Asi Rasmussen - comes in and does well that he may not get his shirt back. Stuniverse
Sunday 4th July 2021 PREVIEW: Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III v Undrid Fotboltsfelag Torshavn Sports: Nobody saw that 4-1 defeat to Argja Boltfelag II coming. What happened? Stuniverse: We never got going at all. Defensively we weren't at it and, going forward, we didn't create anywhere near enough chances. I think you have to give a lot of credit to Argja Boltfelag II but we have to do better. It's as simple as that. We have to do better. Torshavn Sports: Two defeats on the spin now, a narrow 1-0 reverse to Boltfelagid Royn and a heavy 4-1 set-back to Argja Boltfelag II. Where has it been going wrong? Stuniverse: I don't like making excuses, but losing our left-winger Kasper Frandsen with a ruptured Achilles tendon hasn't helped. In the last two games we've struggled in front of goal and that seems to have made us nervous about conceding goals at the other end. We've worked hard in training and are confident of getting back to winning ways. Torshavn Sports: It doesn't get any easier, does it? Away to third placed Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III at vid Djupumyrar. Stuniverse: Yes, it's going to be another difficult game for us, but our 2-0 victory over Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III earlier in the season at J & K Vollur gives us confidence to draw on and spur us on. Stuniverse
Sunday 11th July 2021 PREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III Torshavn Sports: After two straight defeats, you bounced back with a 4-3 win away at Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III. Stuniverse: Yes. It was a good win for us and we needed it. We suffered an early set-back, conceding a goal in the first minute, but the players responded brilliantly and deserved the win by the final whistle. Torshavn Sports: You seemed to change your system a bit against Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III. Stuniverse: We did. We still played 4-4-2 effectively, but instead of going with an attacking slant that has served us so well this season, which often makes it a 4-2-4, we looked to keep our shape more, and remain more compact. The jury's out on how successful it was. The early goal I think you can put down to us not being used to the system, and we responded with four good goals to take a deserved 4-1 lead, but then we got sloppy, conceded two late goals, and were hanging onto a 4-3 leading the closing minutes. Torshavn Sports: Back home again for a match against third-bottom Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III at J K Vollur. Stuniverse: Yes, and it will be good to play in front of our own supporters again at J & K Vollur after three away games out of our last four. We beat Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III 2-1 at their place earlier in the season so, hopefully, we can make it two wins out of two against them. Torshavn Sports: Results yesterday saw second and third both win to cut your advantage over them to six and seven points respectively, but you can stretch the gap to nine and ten points with a win today. Stuniverse: That would be the ideal result, obviously, but Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III need the points themselves in their bid to avoid relegation. It may be one of those games that comes down to who has the most desire... who wants it the most. Please LIKE if you enjoyed this update and FOLLOW the thread so you don't miss future updates. Stuniverse
Saturday 17th July 2021 PREVIEW: 07 Vestur II v Undrid Fotboltsfelag Torshavn Sports: After losing two straight, you've now won your last two matches after a convincing 4-1 home win over Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag III. Is the crisis over now? Stuniverse: I don't think there ever was a crisis. We were, and still are, top of 2. Deild. Torshavn Sports: You go to 07 Vestur II today, who are 5th in the league. Stuniverse: Another tough game for us, but one we believe we can win. Torshavn Sports: You lost two players this week on free transfers. How do you feel about that? Stuniverse: I'm disappointed. I didn't want to lose either player. We're an amateur club so our hands are tied, there's not much we can do, we can't pay them a salary and we can't tie them down to a contract. We let Aron Sorensen and Benjamin Knudsen know we wanted them to stay but Aron and Benjamin chose to leave J & K Vollur for a new adventure. I wish them well. Stuniverse
Sunday 25th July 2021 PREVIEW: Undrid Fotboltsfelag v Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II Torshavn Sports: That's three straight wins now with a 5-2 victory over 07 Vestur II. Stuniverse: Yes. And that feels much better. People were questioning us after two back-to-back defeats and were saying that our bubble had burst. But not us. Within the squad remained confident. We've put ourselves in a great position to achieve something really special for Undrid Fotboltsfelag this season and the players, the backroom staff, the Board and myself are determined to deliver that. Torshavn Sports: You conceded two more goals though, making a total of eight matches without a clean sheet . Is that a worry that you're no longer keeping clean sheets? Stuniverse: Of course it is, although I'm not sure 'worry' is the right word. Keeping clean sheets makes it so much easier to win football games but, with the creative and attacking talent we have in our squad, we're confident of out-scoring anybody in 2. Deild. Torshavn Sports: With Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II leap-frogging Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III with a 3-0 win yesterday, you can go 11 points clear today with a victory over Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II at J & K Vollur. This presents a huge opportunity for Undrid Fotboltsfelag, isn't it? Stuniverse: Yes, it does. 11 points clear at the top, with seven games remaining, would be an excellent position to be in. We've worked hard in training this week and it's up to the players to get the job done in front of our own supporters today. Torshavn Sports: Any injury concerns? Stuniverse: Yes. Sadly. We probably won't risk Hogni Midjord (groin) today and it might be safer to replace back-up goalkeeper Fridi Sigurdsson (food poisoning) on the bench. Stuniverse
Saturday 31st July 2021 PREVIEW: Itrottarfelag Fuglafjardar II v Undrid Fotboltsfelag Torshavn Sports: A 1-0 victory over Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II and a clean sheet, your first in nine matches. Stuniverse: Yes. That was very satisfying to keep the clean sheet. It's a good job we did, too, as it won us the game. Unlike us, we couldn't add to our one goal but, fortunately, one was enough for the win. Torshavn Sports: I wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on your command of Faroese. You speak it like a local from the Islands. Stuniverse: Why thank you, Sir.That's very kind of you to say. I wouldn't have been able to pick the language up so quickly without my tutor Anna. Torshavn Sports: You've equaled the 2. Deild record for most wins in a season with 16 and a win today will see you break that record. It's been quite a season, hasn't it? Stuniverse: It has, but it's not over yet and we can't rest on our laurels. The only record we're interesting in is achieving Undrid Fotboltsfelag's first ever promotion to 1. Deild. Torshavn Sports: You travel to rock-bottom Itrottarfelag Fuglafjardar II today to face a side cast adrift and 11 points off safety, 12 if you take into account their terrible goal difference. A win must be yours today, surely? Stuniverse: I'd say it could work the other way. Itrottarfelag Fuglafjardar II know their only chance of avoiding relegation is to win most of their remaining games. That makes them a cornered, wounded, dangerous animal and we'll have to be prepared for that kind of challenge because they will scrap and fight for everything. Stuniverse
Saturday 14th July 2021 TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH PREVIEW: Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II v Undrid Fotboltsfelag Torshavn Sports: A great come-from-behind win last time out to beat Itrottarfelag Fuglafjardar II 2-1 but, blimey, boy did you leave it late with a sensational 94th minute winner from O'Neill. Stuniverse: Yes, we sure did. We knew Itrottarfelag Fuglafjardar II would be difficult opponents, despite struggling at the bottom of 2. Deild, and that proved to be the case. Hand on heart, they deserved their 1-0 lead at half-time and we gave the players a hard time at the break. We made two substitutions, went more attacking, and fortunately Bjarni Arnason Dalsgaard equalised for us two minutes after the restart. I felt we were the better team after that and their goalkeeper Jakup Olsen produced a string of fine saves to keep them in it. We had to remain patient and the players showed tremendous character to keep plugging away and Scott O'Neill finally hit the winner in the 94th minute. We maybe got a bit over-exited on the bench but what a way to win a game of football! Torshavn Sports: Next up a top-of-the-table clash away against second placed Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II. With only six matches remaining, this must be your biggest match of the season so far? Stuniverse: Yes. I'd probably agree with that. There's a lot riding on this game but, as we'll remain top whatever the result, it's not the end of the world should we lose. We'll be doing everything we can to win the game but we lost 2-1 to Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II at vid Lokin earlier this season so we know it won't be easy. Torshavn Sports: With Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag III surprisingly losing 1-0 to Tofta Itrottarfelag Boltfelagid 1968 II last weekend you now have a 16 point lead over third place which means one more win will guarantee Undrid Fotboltsfelag are promoted. You have six matches remaining but it would be nice to get over the line today, wouldn't it? Stuniverse: Yes. Absolutely. Of course it would. The players have defied expectations all season and they deserve to win promotion and be playing in 1. Deild next season. Torshavn Sports: In fact, with a 13 point lead over your opponent's Nes Soknar Itrottarfelag II, a win today would see Undrid Fotboltsfelag crowned 2. Deild Champions. With only six matches remaining, it's only a matter of time, surely, irrespective of the result today, but win, you're Champions! Stuniverse: I know. It's incredible and the players deserve all the plaudits, but we have to retain our focus and concentration. The prize is within touching distance... but the prize isn't ours yet. Torshavn Sports: Any news on Rasmussen following his thigh injury? Stuniverse: Asi Rasmussen has been passed fit to play by our medical team, but we won't be risking him. Stuniverse
Saturday 14th August 2021 BACK HOME AFTER THE PARTY Annika Vestergaard: That was some party. Wow! Stuniverse: Yeah. I'll have to win the league title every season if we get parties like that to celebrate. Annika Vestergaard: It's unbelievable. I've supported Undrid Fotboltsfelag since the football club was formed in 2005. I've probably been to every single game Undrid have played and we've never experienced a season like this. We've never finished higher than 3rd in 2. Deild before. We've never played in 1. Deild. And, thanks to you, we're going up as Champions. What you've achieved, Stuniverse, is beyond any Undrid supporters wildest dreams. Stuniverse: It's not me, not really. It's the players. They did all the hard work. Annika Vestergaard: You, English. You're so modest. Come here... ... .... Annika Vestergaard: And to think I get to kiss the man who made it all happen. Stuniverse: Look, I told you... Annika Vestergaard: Yes, right. It's the players. I know. Stuniverse: That doesn’t mean you can go around kissing all the players. Annika Vestergaard: Spoilsport. What did Arnar want to see you about? Stuniverse: Mr. Lognberg asked my opinion on whether or not Undrid Fotboltsfelag should go semi-professional? Annika Vestergaard: And what did you say? Stuniverse: I said that if he thought the football club could afford it, then I saw it as the next, natural step for Undrid Fotboltsfelag. Annika Vestergaard: Great. I like that. And what did Arnar say? Stuniverse: Mr. Lognberg said they'd work through the detail and hoped to be ready to go semi-professional before Christmas. Annika Vestergaard: Oh, Stuniverse, I love you. Stuniverse: I love you too. Will you marry me? Annika Vestergaard: No. Not until you're earning enough money to keep me in the lifestyle to which I wish to become accustomed to [laughs]. Now will you stop asking me? Stuniverse: [Laughs] No. You realise I'm never going to stop asking. Annika Vestergaard: And you realise I'm going to keep on saying no. Stuniverse: Come here... ... ... ... Edited February 6, 2021 by Stuniverse

Stuniverse
Monday 16th August 2021 EUPHORIA SOON WEARS OFF Annika Vestergard: What's up? Stuniverse: Oh, it's Mr. Lognberg. Annika Vestergard: Why? What's Arnar done now? Stuniverse: It's more like what he won't do. Annika Vestergard: Your coaching badges? Stuniverse: Yes. I thought after delivering the best ever season in Undrid Fotboltsfelag's history, and with all this talk of going semi-professional and wanting to involve me in that decision making process, the Board would be more inclined to fund a coaching course for me. But, no. Annika Vestergard: I'm sorry. Stuniverse: It's not your fault, and you shouldn't be apologising for him either. Annika Vestergard: I wasn't. Suinverse: I know. And it's not because he's trying to safeguard the financial security of the football club because he's prepared to go semi-professional and that won't be cheap. No, Mr. Lognberg specifically said he's saying no to make me less attractive to bigger clubs. Annika Vestergard: Maybe that agent of yours will find you something? Stunverse: Maybe. But I haven't heard from Stan in ages so I'm not holding my breath. Please LIKE if you enjoyed this update and FOLLOW the thread so you don't miss future updates.
