OlivierL
Njarðvik - Iceland - 2th tier - 1.deild karla - Intro Database | Manager | Club info | Club vision | Facilities | Finances | Squad Intro Njarðvik was my favourite choice on the beta with their great logo but I tried to postpone it every time. Iceland is a tough competition to ever reach Europe but locally it should be possible after a few years. On the previous FM I played 8 season youth only with IR.With hindsight I stopped this too early. I was able to reach the European league group stage there in season 7. Njarðvik has better starting facilities so I have a lot of ambition. I like Iceland because of the short leagues, the nice landscapes , the nice names and the big challenge. History Njarðvík FC, commonly known as Njarðvík or UMFN, is the men's football department of Ungmennafélag Njarðvíkur multi-sport club, based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. It currently plays in the Icelandic football league system third-tier 2. deild karla. The original uniform colours of the club where blue and white. In late 1973 the basketball department was in need of new uniforms and due to lack of funds they decided to select a colour that no other team was using, so they wouldn't have to buy two sets of uniforms. There where three colours to choose from but as the three selectors where all Boston Celtics fans they decided to choose green uniforms. The green colour has been in use since then. Facilities We are located in Reykjanesbaer. Rafholtsvöllurinn - 849 (499 seats) | Great Training & Youth facilities | Adequate Academy coaching & Youth recruitment Spoiler Njardvik located in Reykjanesbær ( It is made up of the towns Keflavík, Njarðvík and the village of Hafnir). Population of 18920 . Greater Reykjavik has a population of 233000. I thought Njardvik was playing in another stadium and there was an error in the database (according to nordic stadiums they play elsewhere). But according to their instagram it's true. Stadium RAFHOLTSVÖLLURINN is the right stadium. Squad We start with 23 squad players (only real players, no youth intake from the first year). I have to add 16 faces to the real players . I won't sign any players. This is a youth only challenge. Key Players McAusland is my assistant manager and best DC. He played many games for St. Mirren in the scottish Premiership I'll update this topic two or three times during the season, with screenshots from the fixtures, table and most important things to know. Khrayze
That's an interesting fact about the Boston Celtics. Maybe you could get Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Rondo in as coaches

OlivierL
January - April 2022 | Pre-season & Lengjubikarinn League cup One of the few disadvantages of Iceland is that you spend months doing nothing (no matches between October and mid-January and a very long preparation towards the start of the competition in May. With an unnecessary league cup as bonus We have beaten a lot of first division teams which of course gives a good feeling. After this preparation, this is the basic game. I was able to extend the contract of some important players. A. Magnússon - Jóhannesson- Sean Da Silva - Kenny Hogg (he scored many goals in pre-season). We start with a home game against HK. OlivierL
May - June 2022 Mixed results. Started the season strong, but after a lot of away games we dropped a few points. It's still possible in all directions, but I won't be relegating. Hogg scoring for fun !

OlivierL
July 2022 Three victories but points dropped at home against Grotta. Achieving top two would be unexpected but would also be very difficult. We are far above expectations so I am satisfied. Next update : first youth intake.

OlivierL
Njarðvik - Season 1 - Youth intake - Class of 2022 This looked good, a good goalkeeper is what i need because my best one is 35. I have high expectations and our youth intakes should be better than my previous attempt in Iceland with IR (FM20) . Adequate recruitment and coaching and great youth facilities.. and a hoyd with high judging PA - Ca and fairly pro personality. Youth intake - Class of 2022 Not really satisfied. A lot of negative personalities. One forward and goalkeeper stands out and I can move on to the first team. I signed 13 players. Calculation - Excel Green are the three best and get a new face (goalkeeper is in the top three because he scores high at his goalkeeping rate). Red are not signed, orange are signed but won't be given a better face (till they are promoted to the first team) Best of Class 2022 Jón Guðjónsson 22-1 is a great striker and will get a chance in the first team next season. Einar Aðalgeirsson 22-2 could become our best goalkeeper . Edited November 29, 2020 by OlivierL
Perre8
lot of negative personalities, in my save also. The striker gudjonson looks like a good one!

OlivierL
Njarðvik - Iceland - 2th tier - 1.deild karla - Season 1 (2022) Club Facts | Finances | Season Preview | Fixtures 1 - 2| Season Review We started the season very strongly but dropped completely in the second round. In a way we are performing above the media prediction but I expected even more at some point. We got a lot of goals against after long balls over our defence. Lowering our back line and looking for faster defenders could be a solution. Or maybe after the recent youth intake I should look for a system with two deep strikers. stuff to think about. Icelandic League Cup We got some good results against first division teams but this will be always a good pre-season cup. Icelandic Cup We lost in the third round against Keflavik, our neighbours Best Eleven | Staff | Transfers | Youth Preview | Youth Intake 2022 | Youth intake calculation Key Performers Youth Watch / Youth Intake 2022 - Best of Class Jón Guðjónsson 22-1 is a great striker and will get a chance in the first team next season. Einar Aðalgeirsson 22-2 could become our best goalkeeper . Manager Thoughts All players signed a new contract. Two players from the first youth intake will move on. I have to think carefully if I will keep my 4 3 3 and we will throw a shot at the top two next season with this squad and system or I will look for something else, tailored to the two good strikers and offensive midfielder Da Silva. Financially we are now at minus 200k. So we lost a total of 270k. Something that won't change until we sell someone with a clause or achieve european football (group stage). On to a winter break of four months now Academy Records Edited November 29, 2020 by OlivierL
janvanbulck
nice to read the update. Football philosophy is certainly working, there's Fire in your team; But watch out for Ice patches ~ slip ups. Gudjonsson seems to be a good one, but what about Da Silva (ooh ooh )
Perre8
Good first season! Maybe switching tactics is the way to go, all depends of your best players available. But for the development of Gudjonson a 2 striker formation seems a good solution... Best of luck next season

OlivierL
Couldn't continue after the first season (break between season takes four months, i couldn't handle it) and started again with FC united (posting about it in youth challenge topic) with the regen intake bug fix. I'll do an Iceland save again. but not this time.
