Jimbokav1971
I am managing in Gibraltar and I have just had cause to look at (23d) Finney (ENG) who someone wants to take on loan. We have recently ticked over to a new season so the European U19 Championship Prelim Qualifying C games at the bottom of the screen stand out. I wonder how many times he has played for the U19's I think so I look to the top and it tells me that he has "No youth caps". I know that he has dual Nationality thanks to his nickname so I look at his Profile - Information - Nationalities. If he had been capped at England at age group level it should tell us here. Nothing. So now I'm intrigued and I look at his form. He's capped at U18 level but not U19 level. But the tournament he is playing in is the European U19 Prelim Qualifying. Why are U18 teams playing in an U19 competition? Gibraltar have the Senior squad and 3 age group squads. There are no U23's which I am used to seeing elsewhere though. The U18's squad play in the Euro U19 Championship Prelims. The previous season they also played in the U19 Int League B Second Round Group 4. The U19's squad have just played friendlies this season. But did play in Euro U19 Championship Qualifying 2 and 3 seasons ago. Is this really how it's meant to be?
