Increasing reputation of competitions in South and North America?

I'm thinking about increasing the reputation of all playable leagues and cups in South and North America proportionally by 10% to15%. The idea behind is to make them more competitive, being able to attract better players and to be able to retain good players more easily and to not sell them for cheap to European sides. Will that change alone will live up to my expectations? Could that create any negative knock-on effects?

I don't see much negative effect. The only thing that could hinder the idea is that the money flow stays the same, which means higher rep players might be interested, but can't be paid.

If that would happen, your reputation changes would fall back to their original level after a few years.

Added, with higher reputations come higher expectations, so it is possible managers get less time to perform and get higher possibly unrealistic targets.
