[FM21] Dodgee Gamer's International Competition Collection

Recommended Posts

International management has always been one of my favourite challenges on Football Manager. While it lacks the depth of the club game, it allows for a change of pace and it makes for a fun second save.

Of course, the major continental championships are all in the game such as the Euros, Copa America, and AFCON. Minor competitions such as the UEFA Nations League and the Asian sub-confederation tournaments are also in the vanilla game, but there are several regular tournaments that are missing.

I have therefore delved into the editor to create 22 additional senior and youth tournaments to expand your international management options.

All competitions have been tested up to 2060 with no issues beyond the occasional (unavoidable) fixture clash.

I have also tested these with Timo's add-on leagues again with no issues.

Here is a breakdown of the tournaments and links to the individual files.

Any competitions I'm missing or you would like me to add? Let me know!

Do you plan make continental competitions for clubs also or only for nations? Because I plan make this competitions for clubs, so I think better if we don't waste time working on this same :)

Only nations - I made these for an international journeyman save I'm starting.

Which competitions are you making?

I'm not sure yet what exactly, everything what I found and I think will be interesting in game. For sure Arab Champions League (done), Commonwealth of Independence States Cup, now I'm making Thailand file and there are some interesting international cups (also some for Nations, so maybe you will make King's Cup or I could add this to my Thai file).

Can you change the dates of Arab Cup & Gulf Cup.

- Arab Cup (Only held in December)

- Gulf Cup (Usually held in January or November). I think its better to make it start in January 2022 (and continues every 2 years) because of the AFCCL final being held in November and the Arab Cup in December.

Thanks for the tip on the King's Cup - I will add that to my list along with the China Cup and Kirin Cup :)

I made the Arab Cup start earlier as when I set it to December only, there was an issue with the likes of Egypt, Algeria, etc playing in AFCON starting in January. Even though that is after the Arab cup ends, the final was sometimes being postponed until after AFCON.

For the Gulf Cup, I know it runs on a 2 year cycle (sometimes annual) but shifted it to 4 years because of the Arab Cup. I can make an alternative version of the file and upload it here later.

Any plans on making some sort of friendly competitions? Like a camp with nations from the same region (example: Caribbean Friendlies)

I feel like friendlies are severely lacking for international teams. Maybe it’s just a side effect of only having the limited tournaments in the game?

That is on the cards. :) My next project is to make some additional competitions that do not actually exist e.g. Scandanavian Championship. A Caribbean one would be a useful addition!
