how do you mod the game?

Very much depends what you mean by mod.

Custom DBs, Graphics like Logos, Kits, Faces, new Skins…

You create or download a custom database, its a computer file. you copy or drag and drop it inside the correct folder and then select that database when you create a new career ingame.

Read the "Readme.txt" file that comes with the DB.

I believe with the in game editor you can move players around as a save game, but to create a custom database you need the pre game editor from steam. It’s free to download.

Open the editor (it's free if you bought the game from steam) then load the database, make the changes that you want, check for errors then you save and export

Obviously it can take time if you're going to make a lot of changes but if you're making only few changes it can be quick
