Jimbokav1971
Transfer income. Jul 2050. For quite a while now I haven't been concerned at all about our finances and as a result haven't put much effort into generating income by selling players. My thinking was always that if I was really in trouble I would just sell 1 of our big players for £50M and we would be fine again. Obviously we haven't spent that much on players over the years, (only being able to re-sign products of our Academy), but there have been a few. The player sales haven't been enormous either, (although there is a £31.5M deal in there). The amount of income we have generated by player sales was reasonable in the early seasons of the save, but hasn't exploded like I expected it to, (and I think that's down tome not putting in the effort). I plan on changing that now. We will be looking to maximise profit from fringe players wherever possible. A potential solution to our financial concerns would be accepting a deal such as this, but I don't think this is the answer at all because while it does bring in a lot of cash, it also significantly weakens our best starting XI. The way forward is to maximise profitability from the fringe players in our squad.
Jimbokav1971
Poached. Jul 2050. I regularly think about how strange it is that we have seen so few poachings, (both way), in this save. I thought that we had seen a player poached from us in this save, but I can't find me posting about it and the player has never shown up when I have looked. I have just had this message though. I used to know how this worked, (it was done by reputation), but that just can't be the case now. Reputation 7,757 CF Os Belenenses. Reputation 6,536 CD Nacional. Reputation 5,641 Belenenses B. The only thing I can think of is that the B Team thing is skewing things.
Jimbokav1971
Aug 2050. Liga Bwin. Because we've had to qualify for the Champions League Group Stage, we've played 1 less game than everyone else and if anything I think that the busy 1st month has helped us. We're 2nd, but only 1 point behind Porto who have already dropped 2 pts. xG Watch. I want to see us more dominant this season in terms of xG, especially at home. Belenenses 4.56 - 0.21 Moreirense. Portimonense 0.97 - 1.49 Belenenses. Belenenses 2.19 - 0.94 Leixoes. UEFA Champions League. We were doing fine until I posted the picture in here that we had won 13 on the bounce and then the following game was obviously the loss in Kyiv. UEFA Champions League Group Stage. This is yet another tough group. Records. Taking a pic of something like this usually jinxes the next game, (which is the 2nd leg against Dynamo Kyiv), so Europa League here we come I guess. (Actually, despite only taking a 1-0 lead into the 2nd leg, we still managed to both lose the game and still progress). Goal-scoring GK's. Transfers. Finances. Jimbokav1971
Sep 2050. Liga Bwin. 3 wins without conceding keeps us top and behind us Sporting have now dropped 6 pts, Porto 4 and Benfica 4 pts so although none of them have lost yet, we've stole a march on them. UEFA Champions League. We've been playing a weakened side in Europe because my priority is the league and it's working out ok so far. Our coefficient, (and that of the Nation), could do with a boost by us playing in the Europa League rather than the Champions League, but history has told us that nothing is guaranteed so we will just see how it goes. Taça da Liga Allianz Cup. A weakened squad here too. Goal-scoring GK's. I've got no idea what's going on with (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" from the spot. He's already missed 3 out of 4 penalties taken this season. The fact that he doesn't get on well with 1 of his colleagues because he is less professional, (18 to 9), is not something I can fix straight away. I'm hoping that the Squads average professionalism might improve that of (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * slightly. Finances.
Jimbokav1971
Oct 2050. Liga Bwin. The xG suggests that we have been unlucky this month, and when you add in that we missed a penalty in the Benfica game then it's even more frustrating. xG watch. Belenenses 1.70 - 0.63 Braga. Belenenses 2.01 - 0.69 Benfica. EdA 0.99 - 2.38 Belenenses. UEFA Champions League. Taça de Portugal Placard. Taça da Liga Allianz Cup. Goal-scoring GK's. Throughout this whole save I have had a handle on why my GK's miss penalties and when I could be bothered I have been able to resolve it...... until now. (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" has failed with 4 of his 5 penalties taken this season but he also missed 3 of 6 penalties taken at the end of the last season so he has actually only converted 4 of his last 10 penalties and the problem is that I can't fix it. (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" has a hidden professionalism attribute of 18. (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * has a hidden professionalism attribute of 9. (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * is only 22 years old, but he has been a regular member of the squad for the last 3 seasons. Why this has only reared it's head now is a mystery. Previously he was 1 of the 2nd choice pairing and this season he is the 1st choice DLP for the 1st time. Finances.

Jimbokav1971
Strange time of Year for an award? Nov 2050. Don't get me wrong, I love any of my players, (or even ex players), winning awards, but November is a strange time of year for an award like this. Maybe it's because it's about players playing for the (POR) U21 side rather than just (POR) players who are U21? Let's have a look at the (POR) U21 fixtures? No. There have only been 3 fixtures scheduled this season and 2 of them still haven't been played. I have no idea what this award is. Actually it's held at this time every year. I just hadn't noticed until now, (possibly because one of our players has never won it before). The only product of our Academy who has won it before is (40b) Ramalho (POR) * and he was already at Real Madrid when he won it. Interestingly, each of the 5 winners of the award since (40b) Ramalho (POR) * have been out on loan when they won the award.
Jimbokav1971
Job Offer. Nov 2050. We've been offered the Uruguay job and it's now been 17 years since I was offered a club job, (although I have been offered 17 International jobs during that time). Jimbokav1971
Nov 2050. Liga Bwin. 2 away games against 2 of the established Big 3, (even though Sporting have fallen on hard times in recent seasons), is a tough ask, and although I would have predicted predicted a haul of 3 pts, I would have expected to beat Sporting and lose to Porto. As it was we were unlucky to lose to Sporting, but worthy winners against Porto. We're in 4th, (after 3x 1-0 losses over the last 2 months), but we have 1 game in hand on Benfica and 2 games in hand on both Braga and Sporting. Porto are 1 point behind us having played 1 game more. xG watch. With the exception of Benfica, domestic games don't get any tougher than this so it's good that we won the xG battle. Sporting 1.36 - 1.48 Belenenses. Proto 0.81 - 2.57 Belenenses. UEFA Champions League. Despite our 3 losses in the league, I have been fielding weakened team in both Europe and the domestic cups and while I would expect to progress in the domestic Cups, our performances in Europe have exceeded expectations. Taça de Portugal Placard. A comfortable win. Goal-scoring GK's. All the way through this save I have told you that I knew what the driver was in getting a GK to be successful at taking pens, and for the most part I've been successful. Until recently however when (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" missed 3 out of 6 at the end of last season and then 4 of 7 this season, (so missed 7 of 13 penalties relatively recently). As @Fudalmentioned recently, he was at 84% not too long ago but his record has been hammered by the recent failures and he's now down at 77% and for a wjile I was stumped why someone had gone from converting at an 80%+ success rate was suddenly only converting at about 50% now. Initially, (at the end of last season, there was nothing showing on his happiness screen, (because I checked and posted in here to show you), but there was a problem somewhere. At the beginning of this season the following showed up. He had an issue with (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * that related to a difference in professionalism levels between the 2 players. (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * had a (Pro) level of 9 and (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" had a much higher (Pro) level of 18. I didn't know how to resolve that though because (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * was our 1st choice DLP and at 22 and already a regular (ENG) International, he was going to be a big player for us moving forward where as (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" was 35 and coming to the end of his career. I kept checking on the happiness screen and it soon changed to this. The players were still having issues, but their (Pro) levels were not specifically mentioned. The reason for this is because (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA)'s (Pro) attribute had popped from 9 to 10. That makes me think that it's moving in the right direction so I loaded up an old save on Youth Intake Day 2044 to check his Pro level. 2044 Pro level 13. 2045 info not available. 2046 Pro level 13. 2047 Pro level 13. 2048 Pro level 13. 2049 Pro level 9. (There must have been an issue here that caused his Pro to drop and I didn't notice. His personality was always balanced so I never noticed). So at least that explains why it wasn't an issue before and suddenly became an issue towards the end of last season 2049/50. I'm guessing that there was a message about it that I missed and because his personality never changed it completely passed me by. Just by way of a comparison, (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * also has happiness issues, but I don't care about them because he's not taking our penalties. Interestingly, the (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" unhappiness has gone now but that might be a temp issue as (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * was missing for the Porto game after going out on the lash, and then got injured so missed the subsequent games. I don't know if the unhappiness will return when (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) * returns but will keep an eye on it. Who knew such a small thing could have such a big impact! Finances. Jimbokav1971
Dec 2050. Liga Bwin. The Guimaraes game was frustrating and I have to take full responsibility. xG watch. The reason we lost the xG battle, (and the game), against Guimaraes is that I thought I had picked the team for the game, but actually I played the same weakened team that had won the game against Varzim 3 days earlier. Belenenses 2.82 - 0.67 Gil Vicente. Belenenses 3.82 - 0.19 Varzim. Guimaraes 3.50 - 1.60 Belenenses. Academica Coimbra 1.14 - 4.35 Belenenses. UEFA Champions League. Taça de Portugal Placard. Goal-scoring GK's. Apologies if anyone is getting me bored with me dissecting the why's and what's that are causing the issues with the penalties but it's been a large part of this save and will continue to be so. I think it's significant that we went through a period where (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" missed 7 of 13 penalties over the end of last season and the beginning of this season and compare that with his recent form which is 6 out of 6 pens with 7 goals scored in our last 8 games, (although 1 of them was a free-kick). 7x GK goals in 39 days is absolutely mental. I have had strikers who couldn't score like this! I mentioned that the (44c) Ogbu (ENG) (NGA) (Pro) had popped from 9 to 10 last month, and it's popped from 10 to 11 this month. Although the penalties are now flying in, it hasn't resolved everything. Facilities. Finances.
Jimbokav1971
Jan 2051. Liga Bwin. 4 wins is great, especially conceding just 1 goal, but these teams are 10th, 16th, 11th & 12th, so we should be beating them. We're 3rd behind Benfica and a resurgent Sporting, but do have a game in hand. Porto are 6 pts behind us but do have a game in hand on us. There is still lots to play for in the league. Taça de Portugal Placard. A comfortable win. Taça da Liga Allianz Cup. Playing a Final 3 days after the Semi always seems strange to me. I don't like it. Porto nicked it in a tight gam. Transfers. We're producing players of a better standard now and it makes sense to move some of these on for cash. (45g) Jones (ENG) (WAL) is a 21 year old winger who was way down the pecking order and never going to play for the 1st Team. (40f) Dabó (GNB) (POR) is a 26 year old (GNB) International ad while decent was never going to feature in a midfield packed with quality. (46c) Kulwa (TAN) MR is a 20 year old Tanzanian International and a bit of a strange one if I'm honest. He's decent and has good potential, but I don't like him for the middle fo the pitch so it means he will have to be pushed wide but he can't cross so it means an inverted role that I don't want to use. When they offered me money I bit their hand off. Having said that, he was good against us when Guimaraes beat us earlier in the season. I expect him to go on and do well. (42m) Firmino (POR) is a 24 year old GK who is way down the order so made sense to move him on. (45b) Gamito (POR) 6'3" is a 21 year old centre-half that I actually quite liked. The problem is that he didn't have much PA and this was as good as he was going to get. When they offered £1M for him I accepted immediately. (36f) Antunes (POR) is a 30 year old left back who wanted to be more than an occasional starter so I let him go for a nominal fee and he has stayed in the Liga Bwin. 25 year old (41b) Diogo (POR) plays in the really competitive position of central midfield and just wasn't good enough to stay. (32g) Ramos (POR) might be 34 now but he is and always be an absolute legend! (47l) Bento (POR) 5'11" is a decent GK but he's not the current 1st choice and he's not the hot prospect so I thought I might as well accept this offer from a big club who might sell him for more and generate us some sell-on cash. (47g) Ezequiel (ESP) is a 19 year old Spanish striker who is decent. The "problem" if you can call it that is that we have quite a few like him at a similar standard so simply in terms of development it makes sense to sell him on, (especially to a big club who might aid his development and then sell him for a profit). Records. Goal-scoring GK's. Finances.
Jimbokav1971
Clauses. Feb 2051. I'm usually a fan of sell-on clauses and the only reason we haven't seen much of it in here is because I have been keen to keep players as long as possible until now, even if that meant that they would leave for no fee at the end of their contract. The last year of their contract was generally worth more to me than anyone was willing to pay for them, (with a few exceptions). I haven't forgotten about clauses though and you won't be surprised to hear that we have a few waiting to be triggered. Some of them won't be worth much, but some of them will hopefully earn us a few quid. (39d) Rebelo (POR) * went to Spain and is valued at £37M. We have a 25% clause on him. (39g) Fonseca (POR) * went to Spain and is valued at £3.6M-£6.6M. We have a 25% clause on him. (41b) Diogo (POR) went to Famalicao for £500k and is valued at £1.9M, We have a 50% profit clause on him. (41h) Pinto (POR) 5'11" went to Varzim and is valued at £1.8M. We have a 25% clause on him. (44e) Matos (POR) 5'11" is valued at £600k and we have a 25% clause on him. (44f) Sá (POR) (GNB) is valued at £850k and we have a 50% clause on him. (45b) Gamito (POR) 6'3" is valued at £2.1M and we have a 20% clause on him. (46c) Kulwa (TAN) MR is valued at £2.7M and we have a 50% clause on him. (47e) Dias (POR) is valued at £1.6M and we have a 50% clause on him. (47g) Ezequiel (ESP) is valued at £6.4M and we have a 50% clause on him. (47i) Guedes (POR) is valued at £1.3M and we have a 50% clause on him. (47l) Bento (POR) 5'11" is valued at £8.2M and we have a 50% clause on him. We've got clauses for 7 (SEVEN) friendlies. While I was happy to bring some cash on for these players, their sales were mainly about moving them on because we had no use for them. (39d) Rebelo (POR) * was a little different in that he could definitely have played for us, but we have 2 young prospects already at his level and it makes sense to play and develop them because they will exceed past his current level. (46c) Kulwa (TAN) MR is going to be good enough. He just didn't fint into the way I want to play. (47g) Ezequiel (ESP) is going to be good enough but we have some much competition up front and he's basically a lefty who suits the role that I want to have a righty playing,
Thebaker
Has some of Ogbu's other hidden attributes dropped, seems odd that he is suddenly disruptive as his professionalism is not that low. How many transfers happen because a player’s wife doesn’t isn’t settled or they don’t want to uproot their children.

If I have to put up with it for more than a couple of days I will sort it. No chance of the GK hitting 20 this season I'm afraid. He was in a great vein of form with 7 goals in 8 games I think, but he just went 15 games and scored only 1 goal before a recent brace against Guimaraes. He's on 13 goals at the moment and has at least 10 games left and possibly as many as 14 games. If he gets 2 more this season and finishes on 15 then I will be very happy. In fact, he's missed 4 penalties this season and I like to add them in sometimes to see what he could have got, so if he finishes on 16 and missed 4 then that means that 20 goals in a season was at least possible. I wonder if future versions will let you know if the player has a wife/family and if they feel settled or not. How many transfers happen because a player’s wife doesn’t isn’t settled or they don’t want to uproot their children. I don't think he was good enough to warrant the attention of the really big clubs and I think his reputation was helped/hindered by the fact that although he was called up for every Portugal squad for about a decade, he was never ever capped. His loyalty is 9 and his Ambition 11 so nothing jumping out there. His PA was only 134 which really isn't great in the grand scheme of things so I think that although he was great for us, others looked at him and saw limitations. Maybe if I had let him taken penalties things would have been different. That's 1 of the downsides of your GK's being on pens. I sometimes feel like I have stolen goals from my main striker, (but the feeling soon fades). I don't think that the SI boffins are too keen to go into the private lives of players like that, but I like the idea and rather than blaming it on the family I think being "settled in the area and not wanting to move", (for whatever reason), is something that would be a good addition to the game. A counter-argument might be that this is already in the game in the form of the players personality and things like loyalty & ambition, but I quite like your idea. Jimbokav1971
Youth Intake day. Mar 2051. I seem to get loads of Golden Generation intakes, (whether they are or not is open to debate), but I very rarely seem to get a Generational Talent and especially not deep into a save where I already have a decent amount of CA at the club. What are we looking for? I can't remember what came through last season actually, but what the Senior Squad needs is wide players on both sides and a left back. What have we actually got? At 1st glance it would appear that we have a striker, (can never have too many of them), a winger and 4 central midfielders. Squad by PA. Squad by Actual PA. (51a) Marinho (POR) looks great. I would much prefer he was a lefty rather than an inverted righty, but I'm certainly not complaining. I might even make an exception in his case and play him inverted! (51b) Oliveira (POR) looks very decent indeed. He's which might be over-selling his potential just a tad, and actually he looks phenomenal! (Look at those physicals for a 15 year old!) (51j) Vicente (POR) is a slightly strange one. He looks like a central playmaker, but I think he's also quite versatile and I wonder if he could play a WPM role on the left? (That PPM has to go either way). (51c) Alves (POR) is obviously more suited to playing further forward, but I should be able to convert him into a DLP even if he is a right, (but doesn't have the physical ability to play on the right of central midfield). (51n) Varela (CPV) (POR) is a bit of a shock. He came through the intake ranked 14 of 16 by PPA but he actually looks quite decent. He's a little on the short side but it's early days yet and he should at least reach 6'0". He looks a damn sight better than 50 CA.
Jimbokav1971
International recognition. Mar 2051. I didn't even realise that (44a) Simões (POR) * had been called up to the (POR) Senior Squad rather than the (POR) U21 squad, but I think it's fair to say he took hos opportunity with a goal on his debut I think he's looking pretty decent. 9 of the 23 man (POR) squad are now products of our Academy, with 5 of them still with us, 2 a Juve and 1 at each of R.Madrid & Barca. Jimbokav1971
NxGn 2051. I know it's cosmetic, but I love this little feature. (48c) Bronze (POR) 5'11" was #6 on the list last year. He has mainly been playing as left back for the B Team. Maybe I need to fast-track him to the Senior Team, (although he has already made 37(1) 1st Team appearances so he's doing ok). (50a) Amarante (POR)(CPV) 5'10 has gone straight in at #11. He's developing nicely but not getting any taller! (50c) Ako (FRA) (GPE) 5'11" is another from last seasons intake on the list, this time at #14. He's a little on the short side and aerial ability definitely a weakness. He's a regular for the B Team and fingers crossed he continues to improve. (47k) Tavares (CPV) is a player I really like. He was #17 last season but has dropped to #26 this season. Jimbokav1971
Mar 2051. Liga Bwin. These were some tough fixtures, 3 away games and the of the opposition in the top 6. xG watch. The Braga result was frustrating and the xG shows that we might have deserved more but that's just the way it goes somewhere. On the flip side we probably didn't deserve the point at Benfica. Nacional 1.27 - 2.04 Belenenses. Braga 0.72 - 1.65 Belenenses.Belenenses 2.81 - 0.48 Guimaraes. Benfica 1.53 - 0.71 Belenenses. UEFA Champions League. We play R.Madrid in the Quarters and if we progress past them then we play the winners of Arsenal and Liverpool in the Semi. Taça de Portugal Placard. It's going to be a tough ask in the 2nd leg without taking an advantage in from the 1st leg. Records. Goal-scoring GK's. Finances.
Jimbokav1971
Apr 2051. Liga Bwin. Had we beaten Sporting we would have been just 1 point behind Benfica. As it is we're 3 pts behind with just 2 games remaining. xG watch. Belenenses 1.41 - 0.47 Sporting. Varzim 0.98 - 2.88 Belenenses. Belenenses 3.21 - 1.51 Porto. Gil Vicente 0.29 -1.69 Belenenses. UEFA Champions League. We were smashed in the 1st leg so I rotated the squad for the 2nd leg. Taça de Portugal Placard. I really wanted to win this, but they just edged it. Goal-scoring GK's. only 1x GK goal this month, but (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" is up to 130 career goals now. Finances.
Jimbokav1971
May 2051. Liga Bwin. 1 point was all that separated us and Benfica in the end, but they had a better head to head record so would still have been ahead even on level points. Goal-scoring GK's. No GK goals this month and (31g) Simões (POR) 6'1" finished the season on 14 goals, (with 4 failures from the spot), and 130 career goals. Jimbokav1971
Worth the wait? Jun 2051. I thought this would never happen. He has been involved in every Portugal squad for about 15 years, but has never played until now.

Still, got a cap though arguably should have got one earlier considering the awards he’s won.

Important to at least get top 3 this season with only 3 UCL spots up for grabs. Looks like you’ve improved your goals output and decreased goals concede too
dsousa96
Let's go man! The title is closer and closer. BTW, I don't know if you are into portuguese football, but this last week, our Federation wants to "re-count" the titles won by portuguese clubs, so, that means, that Belenenses instead of 1 title, would have 4.

Jimbokav1971
Job interviews/offers. Jun 2051. Until recently I haven't paid much if any attention to the Spanish leagues, but as more of our players start moving there on either permanent deals of via loans, I have started showing a little interest. Obviously the big story here is the demise of Barca. Before 2042/43 they hadn't finished outside the Top 3 in the previous 19 seasons, and had won the league in 12 of those 19 seasons.
