Our best new recruits were loans with Les Yates on the left wing and playmaker Stewart Southworth being the pick. We started decently but form from October to the end of the year was patchy. We hung around second spot though with a decent gap due to a mediocre showing from the competition. Ultimately it was 13 wins in the final 14 games that secured promotion. We also arrested an alarming deterioration in our finances through a decent FA Cup run culminating in a money spinning away tie at Man City. We have struggled to stay within the wage cap for League One which means we will go through to the end of June with a transfer embargo that could be limiting. Key Players Les Yates – The Bournemouth loanee was fantastic from the left wing and hit an impressive 17 goals and 17 assists. Stewart Southworth – The 20 year old playmaker on loan from Man United contributed 11 assists. We had another good FA Cup run with us losing to Aston Villa in the Quarter Finals. Key Players Ricky-Jade Jones - 25 Year Old English Striker I signed Ricky-Jade Jones for a bargain price of £275k from Peterborough and he has been good so far. He hasn't played every game this season as I also had 2 other strikers who were doing well for me. Jones managed to get 15 goals in 27 games. I think if he played every game this season he would of scored double that. Nigel Knott - 20 Year Old English Centre Back Knott was an upgrade on Kaelan Casey who unfortunately started playing rubbish and was moaning a lot so I replaced him with Knott who was a free transfer from Sheff Utd. Knott has been brilliant this season and helped me forget about Casey. He managed to get a couple of goals and also got the best average rating at the club. Lawrie Parker-Trott - 19 Year Old English Striker Lawrie was hot to Trott with 11 goals from 18 games since he come on loan from Arsenal in January. I am hoping to get him back on loan for next season as he was brilliant on loan. I had anticipated a difficult season as we acclimatised to the Championship, particularly as we were unable to strengthen significantly from last season. The biggest signing in pre-season was securing Les Yates on a permanent deal following two seasons on loan from Bournemouth. He was the star player in our promotion from League One and I signed him for a bargain £100k due to his impending contract expiracy. Another significant signing was another familiar face with playmaker Stewart Southworth coming back for another season on loan from Man United. The only major new signing who wasn’t a renewal was left back Thanh Binh Nguyen who signed on a free from Arsenal. Without wholesale signings, I expected us to struggle but we started strongly winning nine of our first 14 games. We had a sticky October and November but from there form was good and we put up a good battle for automatic promotion. Yates was even better from the left wing than in League on scoring a ludicrous 29 goals while striker Ken Aboh kept up his scoring record which has been consistently impressive since League Two with 25 goals. We ultimately finished third, earning a play-off semi against QPR. We were poor in the first leg away losing 2-0. At home we pulled the deficit back to 2-2 with two second half goals. In injury time it looked like we had put ourselves in the final with a 117th minute goal courtesy of a Rakeem Harper penalty. A minute later however Kwarme Aidoo scored for QPR to send the game to penalties. QPR managed to miss three penalties which was enough to see us through to the final. In the final we faced Stoke who dominated the game but somehow we managed to come away 3-0 winners and into the Premier League. Staying up is likely to be a big ask though. Key Players Les Yates – Another top season having made his loan spell permanent. Yates scored 29 goals from the wing. Ken Aboh – The 28 year old striker became Whitby’s all time top scorer this season while scoring an impressive 27 goals. Andrew Haines Posted May 24, 2022 Share Posted May 24, 2022 Whitby Town Premier League – 2033/34 – 15th Squad Transfers Overview My ambition for our first season in the Premier League was very simply to survive and it was mission accomplished. With a very limited budget and a number of positions in desperate need of reinforcing, it was always going to be a difficult task. Almost all the transfer budget went on making the loan of Man United Simon Southworth permanent with a £16m fee. A key signing was Brendan Rice from Aston Villa for £2m to play on the right wing and right-back Thierry Barry arrived on a free from Arsenal. Apart from this the team was very similar to the one that won promotion from League One and then the Championship. Notably, club captain Leighton Clarkson has now represented the club at every level from National League North to Premier League and acquitted himself well at every time. All season, we were consistently good enough to pick up wins and with a low bar set of a mere 30 points needed for survival we were well clear of that. Wins at home against Tottenham and Liverpool were high points of the campaign. Les Yates on the left wing was a standout player again hitting 14 goals while Ken Aboh was prolific again with eight Premier League goals before I sold him to Ulsan in January and replaced him with Mexican Jose Cantu. Cantu was equally impressive in front of goal adding 12 goals of his own. Hopefully we can invest the healthy bank balance accrued from TV money through the season and next year will be a little more comfortable. Key Players Les Yates – Yet another good season for the ex-Bournemouth winger hitting 14 goals. Leighton Clarkson – The club captain has now represented the club in six divisions in two spells and didn’t do bad in the premier league. This did not look entirely likely when we failed to register a win in our first five entirely winnable games. Our big ticket signing was young Scottish winger Lewis Ross from Man United for £23m and on loan midfielder Simon Southworth finalised the transfer I agreed last summer for £16m. Beyond that I had to content myself with cheap buys. 33 year old England Goalkeeper Ettiene Green signed for £3.5m from relegated Leeds and 28 year old centre-Back Ikechukwo Uche for £9.5m from. I also picked up a couple of teenagers of massive potential, Daniel Fodan from West Ham for £7.5m and Lloyd Jarvis from West Brom for £7.25m. Jarvis would go on to be the revelation of the season. Form picked up after the shaky start and was steady through the Autumn. Four wins in December and January opened a clear gap with the relegation zone and a strong finish with two wins and two draws in our final four games placed us comfortably into midtable. The cups weren’t much of a diversion as we were knocked out in the first game of the league cup and FA Cup, both times to Championship opposition. I have steadily invested Premier League funds into the training and youth facilities and these are now average, a massive improvement having seen no improvements at all since I took over. In addition, next season we move into a new stadium with a 13,000 capacity. Key Players Lewis Ross – The marquee signing of the summer, the Scottish winger scored 9 goals. Lloyd Jarvis – The standout player having signed last summer as a 18 year old, he progressed rapidly playing a holding midfield role. Failed to bring in quality and struggled to find any form all season. Relegation was impossible to avoid with the players I had. The less said about the cups the better, however. Season Details League Table - We comfortably won the league title and promotion and it was secured with four matches remaining. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - After a poor start, we soon settled down and dominated the division. F. A. Cup - A poor performance at home to League Two strugglers Stevenage in the second round proper, saw the club eliminated after extra time. F. A. Trophy - Very poor. We went out early on, in the second round, as Gloucester beat us on our own patch. Friendlies - A mixed bag of results, though we did play a high standard of opponent. Squad - We are very strong and are well poised to challenge for another promotion. Squad Dynamics - As you would expect, this is rather good. Transfers In 1 & 2 - I completely transformed the squad as I brought in a lot of young, hungry players on free transfers together with a smattering of loans. Transfers Out - I allowed all of the existing squad to leave as they were all on big wages, far more than they should of been. Youth Candidates - It was a very poor intake with right back Fabio McCarthy supposedly being the stand out player though I just don't see it. Finances - Despite cash injections from the board, we still lost money and are in the red as a result. Key Players Siôn Spence - The former Welsh Under 21 international central midfielder quickly established himself as our best player. Tyrese Shade - A full international for St Kitts & Nevis, he is comfortable on either wing. Dermi Lusala - Young right back who enjoyed his first season at the club. Michael Forbes - The Northern Irish teenager can play as either a central defender or in central midfield and he was so consistent in either role. Jezreel Davies - The Nigerian Under 20 international plays in central midfield and dominated games. Next Season Another promotion is the aim. With a decent amount of money in the bank and already having an established team, I was able to splash decent money on a handful of positions. I am looking to sign top British prospects at 17 or 18 years old and put them straight into the first team with the aim of developing them rapidly. Big money signings were centre-back Tristan Seddon for £21m from Liverpool and Richie Bailey for £24m from Everton. Both were 18 with loads of potential and fit the bill for the sort of players I am trying to recruit. In addition I spent a further £20m on Belgian wonderkid Goalkeeper Djuma Kwizera. In addition 17 year old Hull City winger Peter Beckley signed in January. As I play an inverted winger on the right I decided Beckley would make a good right back so converted him to play there. All these players did well particularly Bailey who scored 10 goals. Key Players Richie Bailey – Arriving for £24m from Everton in the summer, the 19 year old winger hit double figures. Andrew Haines Posted June 7, 2022 Share Posted June 7, 2022 Whitby Town Premier League – 2036/37 – 16th Squad Transfers Overview I rolled the dice massively for this season selling much of the first team particularly experienced players and replacing them with raw under 21 players. The gamble almost cost me as we only accrued 34 points which might well have seen us relegated. Players leaving included defenders Marcel Kassi for £7.5m to Wolves, Jochen Aigner to CSKA for £14.75m and Juan Martin Royon for £21m to Monaco as well as midfielder Miguel Aybar for £22m to Olympiacos and Striker Luan to Monaco for £26.5m. This total of £93m added to my budget allowed spending on teenagers Robert Lee, Derek Fox, Ben Lynch and Tyrese Lawton for a combined £56.5m with Lee and Lawton going straight into the first team. I also signed 16 year old playmaker Colby Gee from West Brom for £14m who looks like he will have the attributes to be a really special player. Gee played 24 games, alternating with Daniel Foden in the midfield playmaker role. We started strongly with 13 points from our first 5 games. It was a good thing we did as this amounted to around a third of our points and we wouldn’t win another game for 20 games. The lead we accrued at that stage along with the points we eaked out during the season were enough to keep us clear of relegation. A big part of the issue was a lack of goals. Tyrese Lawton has lots of potential in the striker role but only hit four goals all season and needs time to develop. The experience for our young players was invaluable and will stand them in good stead for next season. I have steadily re-invested in a new facilities and we have moved into a 20,000 stadium now and training/youth facilities are coming on nicely. Key Players GK - Djuma Kwizera – The keeper signed 2 years ago from Anderlecht is an establish Belgian international at the age of only 21. RB – Peter Beckley – A £15m signing from Hull City, the 19 year old converted to play rightback from his initial position on the wing. CB - Tristan Seddon – The 19 year old signed from Liverpool for £21m and is the most well developed of my youngsters. CB – Robert Lee – Signed from Bournemouth for £15m the 19 year old centre-back settled in well. LB – Jakob Pal Kristensen – Leftback signed on loan from Liverpool with an agreed fee of £55m, the 19 year old holds dual English and Faroes nationality. DM - Lloyd Jarvis – Now 21 and with three seasons in the first team under his belt, Jarvis is developing into a solid Premiership player. AP – Colby Gee – 16 year old playmaker started 15 premier league games and looks like he’ll be a real prospect following a £14m transfer from West Brom. BBM – Ben Lynch – Signed from Burnley for £18m the 19 year old midfielder is developing well. IW - Tomas Krabec – Czech wonderkid signed to bolster quality on the right wing. IF – Richie Bailey – An improved second season with 13 goals returned and was voted no. 1 in the top 50 wonderkids aware. P – Tyrese Lawton – The 19 year has lots of pace and potential but only scored 4 premier league goals in 33 games. The lead we accrued at that stage along with the points we eaked out during the season were enough to keep us clear of relegation. A big part of the issue was a lack of goals. Tyrese Lawton has lots of potential in the striker role but only hit four goals all season and needs time to develop. The experience for our young players was invaluable and will stand them in good stead for next season. I have steadily re-invested in a new facilities and we have moved into a 20,000 stadium now and training/youth facilities are coming on nicely. Key Players GK - Djuma Kwizera – The keeper signed 2 years ago from Anderlecht is an establish Belgian international at the age of only 21. RB – Peter Beckley – A £15m signing from Hull City, the 19 year old converted to play rightback from his initial position on the wing. CB - Tristan Seddon – The 19 year old signed from Liverpool for £21m and is the most well developed of my youngsters. CB – Robert Lee – Signed from Bournemouth for £15m the 19 year old centre-back settled in well. LB – Jakob Pal Kristensen – Leftback signed on loan from Liverpool with an agreed fee of £55m, the 19 year old holds dual English and Faroes nationality. DM - Lloyd Jarvis – Now 21 and with three seasons in the first team under his belt, Jarvis is developing into a solid Premiership player. AP – Colby Gee – 16 year old playmaker started 15 premier league games and looks like he’ll be a real prospect following a £14m transfer from West Brom. BBM – Ben Lynch – Signed from Burnley for £18m the 19 year old midfielder is developing well. IW - Tomas Krabec – Czech wonderkid signed to bolster quality on the right wing. IF – Richie Bailey – An improved second season with 13 goals returned and was voted no. 1 in the top 50 wonderkids aware. P – Tyrese Lawton – The 19 year has lots of pace and potential but only scored 4 premier league goals in 33 games. I never normally have any success in the lower leagues so to gain promotion via the playoffs for me is amazing. We actually had a really good season and was always punching above our weight and there or there abouts all season along at the top end of the league and as you can see from the league shot below there was a real split with the top 3 from everyone else. We were arguably the worse team in the playoff final and things could have been so so different if Woking had converted their early penalty but our goalkeeper pulled off a brilliant save. 1 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Season Preview Odds: 14th (33-1). Finish: 1st. Kept the majority of the squad from last season, with many getting professional contracts. After an inconsistent start, I was expecting that we would have to push for a playoff spot at best, but a lot of wins in September and October quickly propelled us to the automatic spots. With three automatic promotion spots available there was not too much pressure on us and we kept pace with Colchester and Chesterfield at the top, before a great end to the season saw us win the title with a game to spare. FA Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Third Round by Wolves. Made light work of Port Vale, before impressively beating League One Cardiff at home to setup another Third Round tie. This would be against Championship Wolves (who ended up being promoted back to the Premier League) at home. Maybe an away tie would have been better for the finances here, but nevertheless it was still a good tie. Unfortunately they were too good and won comfortably 2-0. EFL Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Second Round by Burnley We beat Tranmere to make it to the Second Round where we drew Premier League Burnley. Burnley eased to a 3-1 victory at Turf Moor. EFL Trophy (Results): Finish: Runner Up to Forest Green This was a great cup run and our first visit to Wembley. We won every game in the group, including against Newcastle U23s and then beat Sheff Wed (L1), Tranmere (L2), Ipswich (L1) and Oxford (L1) to make it into the final. A lot of these teams played weakened sides and we managed to scrape a few 1-0 victories. Forest Green proved to be one League One side too far and they played their best team in the final. They were on top for most of the game, and then scored a screamer to go 1-0 up. Beresford then decided to two-foot someone, but we still managed to get a late equaliser with 10 men to go to extra time. In extra time, they found the winner and we had no reply. Maybe next season! Club: Squad | End of Season Awards: A lot of the squad from last season remained and continued to develop. It was hard to improve the starting XI and most of the backups were as good if not almost as good in the same position. Therefore we were able to rotate a lot without weakening the side too much. This was maybe a big advantage because we did well in all competitions and kept everyone happy. Transfers: Managed to keep Forrester, Jackson (free transfers) and Beresford (another season loan) as well as add some additional loans and free transfers to make up the squad. In addition to this (not shown in screenshot as happened in May) we sold Cannonier to Cardiff for £170K with a 50% sell on clause and also got a one season loan back clause in there. Although, he ended up not playing very often for us. Club Vision: Met all the objectives for this season comfortably. Expected to fight bravely against relegation in League One. Key Players: Harry Smith - An amazing season for the new target man who won the Golden Boot in League Two this season with 28 league goals. Ronny Nelson - Another great season from him after being the second best player last season too. He was ever present at the back and contributed with even more goals in the league. Jake O'Brien - He was actually only signed in November after Rod McDonald complained about game time and was sold to Oxford for £35K, but what a signing. Slotted straight into the back line and was solid. Harry Boyes - Another season, another great one for him. He played mostly as a back up at left back towards the end of the season, but every time he was called upon he was great. 21 league apps and 8 assists. Samuel Iling - On loan from Benevento, this was gem of a loan signing found by the Director of Football. He caused problems on the left with his pace. Signed for another season on loan. Best Youth Intake Player: The youth intake wasn't great. This was the best of them - Steve Finney Overall Best Eleven: Nothing unusual Finances: Kept alive by the cup runs. Board have announced plans to improve training facilities which took a big chunk of money out here. Manager Profile: The board allowed me to complete coaching courses for the National A and Continental C licenses. I have now started the Continental B license too. The team was largely the one that finished last season but with English international left-back Constantin Popescu joining from Spurs, 16 year old Nottingham Forest centre-back Connor Hugo supplementing the existing centre-backs and Everton’s promising winger Adam Allen joining for £25m. My original intention was to bring in a new experienced striker to take the pressure off teenage striker Tyrese Lawton who only registered 4 goals in the previous season. On this basis I brought in Danish Striker Mads Rud from Copenhagen for £10m. He was an immediate success scoring 2 goals in his first 3 games. I had however forgotten I had promised to bring in a compatriot to help him settle. On the 1st of September he submitted a transfer request and a £25m transfer to Shaktar immediately followed on the 3rd. A tidy profit but Lawton was back as the main option at striker. Undoubtably the season would have been more of a success if we had a regular scorer upfront but Lawton is showing signs of development hitting 9 goals. He will probably justify his place in seasons to come. Beyond this there is not too much to report. We stayed up comfortably but were eliminated from both cups in our first game, largely as I am playing very young teams. I am persisting with buying the top young players available in the UK and playing them straight away in the first team. Players like Colby Gee and Connor Hugo are still 17 and 16 respectively and are therefore raw but the experience they gained playing almost 30 Premier League games a piece will be invaluable. Key Players Richie Bailey – The left winger hit 12 goals and went to the World Cup with England at only 21 years old. Adam Allen – A £25 million buy from Everton, the right winger contributed 8 goals and 12 assists. I think this left us short of qualification for Europe by one position, we were cost 6th place with a 93rd minute equaliser in our final game against Leeds. It is positive though as the team has only changed slightly in the past three seasons. Of the signings for the 36/36 season Tyrese Lawton, Ben Lynch, Peter Beckley, Robert Lee and Colby Gee who signed as teenagers are still core members of the team and Lynch and Lawton are in and around the England squad. In addition Richie Bailey who signed the season before is now and England regular and top scored in the premier league with 22 goals at only 22 years old. Tyrese Lawton has blossomed into very effective front man this season. He has transformed from a striker would struggled to 4 goals in his debut season to registering 16 goals this. The only real first team additions this season was Knut Karlsen replacing Djuma Kwizera in goal with a £28m profit. Beyond that we spent £42m on Aston Villa’s 16 year old Troy Hathaway who was deployed largely from the bench and a number of other promising youngsters from the domestic market and abroad to fill out the squad. On the pitch we were fairly consistent and as mentioned ran European football very close. With another season under it’s belt this team will be aiming at European football. I have the money reserves to recruit the best youth players coming through outside the top four sides and the aim is to develop another generation of players who are even better. Key Players · GK – Knut Karlsen – A £7.5m signing from Bodo/Glimt, Karlsen was a budget signing to fill the keeper spot. · RB – Peter Beckley – Once a right winger, the ex-Hull City 21 year old is now a very effective right back. · CB – Conner Hugo – At 18 years old the centre-back who signed from Forest two seasons ago is developing nicely. · CB – Robert Lee – 3 seasons after arriving from Bournemouth, Lee is the signing who has developed the least but is still an effective presence in the defence. · LB – Matthew Martin – The first player I have brought through the youth academy to play a role in the first team, 19 year old Martin did fine at left back. · DM - Chuckwuemeka Ndubuisi – Signed for a bargain £15.5m from Everton two seasons ago and is a rare experienced signing in the side. · AP – Colby Gee – 3 seasons on from playing a regular role as a 16 year old, Gee may not become the player I thought he would but is a good player in the midfielder. · BBM – Ben Lynch – The player I had least hopes for 3 seasons ago, Lynch has developed the most impressively and verges on the England squad. · IW – Adam Allen – A regular in the England squad at 20 years old and the EPL young player of the year. · IF – Richie Bailey – A stunning season for the England international left winger top scoring in the EPL with 22 goals. · P – Tyrese Lawton – A breakout season for the young striker with 16 goals and calls for a England call up. Season Details League Table - We went top of the table early on and never looked back. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - With our first league defeat not coming until November, it is safe to say we won the majority of our games. F. A. Cup - We made it through to the first round proper before a poor performance at home to League Two strugglers Newport County, who beat us on penalties. F. A. Trophy - We always struggled in the competition. We needed a replay to get past AFC Telford in the second round before losing to Darlington, again in a replay, in round three. Friendlies - It was a tough pre season campaign, as I had arranged plenty of friendlies against much bigger clubs. Squad - We have a good, young squad and I intend to only improve it. Squad Dynamics - This is rather good. Transfers In 1 & 2 - As is the norm when I start a fresh, I completely overhauled the squad by bringing in mainly free transfers and loans. Transfers Out - I also managed to clear out most of the existing squad, who were all earning far too much. Youth Candidates - It wasn't a great intake with Scottish right back Connor Campbell the best of the bunch. Finances - We made a large profit this year so we have a healthy bank balance. Key Players Jake Hull - Our best player this year, the central defender was outstanding. Owen Windsor - Now fully converted to play on the left wing, he hit double digits for both goals and assists. Matthew Wright - The striker had a great campaign, scoring 35 goals in 54 appearances. Ethen Vaughan - The surprise of the season. Signed as backup at right back, he played so well, he made the starting job his own. Scott McKellar - I have very high hopes for the teenage Scottish central defender. Next Season I want to challenge for another promotion. DazRTaylor Posted June 29, 2022 Share Posted June 29, 2022 (edited) End of Season Review Season 2023/24 FC United of Manchester Season Summary It was a fabulous season as we comfortably secured back to back titles and promotions and also secured runners up in the F. A. Trophy and Season Details League Table - We ran away with the league title and secured promotion to the Football League. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We were consistent and churned out the wins for most of the season. F. A. Cup - Two exceelent away wins at League One clubs Burton Albion & Preston North End set up a third round tie away to Championship leaders Burnley, who unfortunately proved to be too strong for us. F. A. Trophy - We were rarely troubled as we made it to Wembley and the final before a poor performance saw the club finish as runners up, as Scunthorpe United won by one goal to nil. Friendlies - We may have only won twice during pre season, but I was delighted with our peformances as every match was against higher league opponents. Squad - Our squad is good enough to challenge again I feel and with the right additions, I want another league title. Squad Dynamics - As good as you would expect. Transfers In 1, 2 & 3 - I didn't spend any money, but improved the squad considerably with free transfers and loans. Transfers Out 1 & 2 - I sold three key first team players in Janaury for relatively big money as the offers were just too good. Youth Candidates - Left back Alan Byrne YP24A1 is the standout player from a decent enough intake. Finances - We made a healthy profit, largely due to player sales. Key Players Owen Windsor - It was another outstanding season from the left winger. Will Russ - Originally signed to provide competition up front, the striker soon made himself undroppable as he notched 33 goals in 44 appearances. Sean Maguire - Experienced Irish striker arrived in February and quickly slotted into the side. Tyler Fredricson - The teenage central defender arrived on a free transfer from Manchester United and proved to be an astute signing. James Clarridge - An early January arrivial on loan from Nottingham Forest, he became our best defender quite quickly. Next Season I want another promotion. Season Details League Table - We were top early on and never looked back. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - As always, consistency was the key as we won key game after key game. F. A. Cup - Our best performance to date as we made it through to the fourth round before narrowly losing at home to giants Liverpool. Carabao Cup - A second round loss away to top flight side Norwich City on penalties ended our interest in the competition. Papa John's Trophy - After winning our group, we went all the way, including hammering the Liverpool youngsters in the final at Wembley. Friendlies - A long pre season campaign, we only lost three times and played very well throughout. Squad - Our squad is more than good enough for League One and with the right additions I feel we can challenge again. Squad Dynamics - This is rather good which is exected after such a good season. Transfers In 1 & 2 - I boke our transfer record, though it was still mainly free transfers or loans. Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - The transfer sale record was broken as we brought in a record amount in player sales. Youth Candidates - Welsh striker Iwan Pritchard YP25A6 is the most promising out of a good intake. Finances - I cashed in on some sell on clauses so we made a healthy profit and have a nice bank balance. Key Players Leighton Clarkson - A high earner, the central midfield repaid my faith by a string of outstanding performances. Dynel Simeu - The Cameroonian Under 23 international centre back was one of our our best defenders. Tashan Oakley-Boothe - The versatile midfielder, who is comfortable in the middle of the park or in defensive midfield, was excellent whenever he was called upon. Ashley Phillips - Our best player this campaign. The central defender was signed on loan from Blackburn Rovers for the season and has renewed the loan deal for another year. Gastón Correa - Unable to scout the teenager, I took a punt on the Uruguayan left winger by signing him on loan from Peñarol and he was sensational, securing double digits for both goals and assists. Next Season Perhaps a play off spot? I still made the Europa Conference League position. It would have been Europa League but Arsenal managed to win the FA Cup and didn't finish in the top 6. Unlucky Bournemouth got 9pts deducted and saved Chelsea being relegated. Champions League Had some good results in the league section, but hit a brick wall against Real Madrid in the 1st Knockout game. Cloondawg Posted July 6, 2022 Share Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) Season 4 (2025/26) - Sky Bet League One Competitions: Overview Sky Bet League One (Table| Results): Board Expectation: Fight bravely against relegation. Season Preview Odds: 22nd (100-1). Finish: 1st. It was difficult to bring anyone in who would significantly improve upon what we already have so we started the season with mainly the same squad and extended almost all the loans from last season too. The team cohesion, tactical familiarity and great team morale saw us carry the momentum into this season, even with a squad of less quality than many teams around us. We started really well and performed well in all competitions - we were actually still fighting in all competitions until an EFL Cup exit in December. Due to the sheer amount of fixtures being played, fatigue and injuries started to hit and we went on a slump in January - only winning 4 league games between New Year's Eve and the end of February. However Barnsley and Portsmouth, our promotion rivals, also struggled and although they closed the gap, we stayed in the automatic promotion spots. We kept grinding out wins and were quite consistent until the end of the season, this left us in a 3 horse race for promotion and it was very tight. We lost to Portsmouth with 3 games to go and then both they and Barnsley played before our penultimate game - we dropped out the promotion places for the first time since October! Colchester was next, a must win game, which we did... just! A last minute goal from Harry Smith sealed 3 vital points and set up an exciting last day. Fortunately we blew Burton away to seal the title and go up to the Championship! FA Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Third Round by Everton. We got favourable ties against League Two Doncaster and Exeter to make the Third Round. Unfortunately it was a home time against Everton. It would have been nice to get an away draw for the money but we still sold out at home at least. This was at a point in the season where we just had so many games so I had to play a weakened side which included some youth players. We lost 3-1 which was respectable and Dimitris Vasilogiannis scored his first goal for the club at 17 years of age as a consolation. EFL Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Quarter Final by Southampton What an unexpected run in the cup this was! We breezed past Rochdale and Tranmere to make the Third Round. Then we faced tougher opposition in Stoke of the Championship and thanks to an early red card for them, we won comfortably and progressed. Next was another Championship team at home, Middlesbrough and we snuck past them against all match stats. There were some big names in the pot for the Quarter Final and it was sure to be a good money maker. Unfortunately we drew Southampton away and not the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal, but it was still a good draw. Southampton dominated the match but couldn't put away their chances, which seemed to be why they were struggling in the Premier League this season. Although, they did have too much quality and won 3-2, our goals only being consolations and coming from nothing. EFL Trophy (Results): Finish: Winner After last year's final disappointment, I was determined to try and go one better here and we did it! Finishing top of the group containing Hull U23s, Rochdale and Shrewsbury and then dispatching Grimsby, Leicester U23s, Lincoln and Bristol Rovers, we made it to Wembley again. The opposition would be Cardiff and there was an almost 80,000 crowd. Cardiff really had the better of the game and will feel very unlucky not to have won, but we found a way to grab 2 goals and grind out the win for our first win at Wembley. Club: Squad | End of Season Awards: Most of the squad stayed again and we continued to try and rotate often. This was forced upon us more often than not due to the amount of fixtures we had coming thick and fast. We really need to try and freshen up the squad for next season because I think they aren't of the required quality for a step up again, but that might be easier said than done. Transfers: The only first team transfer in the Summer, apart from loan extensions, was Marley Redfern coming in from Hamilton for £23,000 (the highest fee I've paid for anyone yet). This was a replacement for Joshua Williams, who decided he wanted to move to Bradford for £50,000. Redfern did ok and had some memorable moments but was quite inconsistent. In January we were forced to bring in several free transfers due to other players who had interested and wanted to leave the club due to it. Will Forrester (to Chesterfield for £125,000), the captain Elijah Dixon-Bonner (to Swindon for £50,000) and Bayli Spencer-Adams (to Cardiff for £50,000) all got interest and eventually left after telling me they wanted to go. Ideally I would have kept them all, but they forced my hand. I think this caused some disruption to the squad and led to poor results in January and February. I brought in Shaun Hutchinson, Rollin Menayese and Matthew Craig as direct replacements, all on free transfers with short term contracts. Finally, George Long came in as a backup loan goalkeeper for 1 month to cover whilst Jaros was out with a sports hernia. Club Vision: All objectives met and now expected to fight bravely against relegation in the Championship. Key Players: Harry Boyes - Another season, another stormer from him. I was very close to letting him go in the summer, but he was happy to stay as the back up LB on a good contract. He made 16 starts in the league and featured heavily in cup competitions. A 7.59 average rating and 15 assists across all competitions was amazing again. Harry Smith - Followed on from last season and just kept scoring. He was a constant menace in the air and bullied defenders to get 20 goals in the league including a hat-trick on the final day to seal the title. Ronny Nelson - A mainstay in the heart of the defence, especially after 2 CBs left in January. He was heavily relied upon and delivered. Ben Beresford - On loan from Birmingham for the 3rd season running and it was another great decision to bring him in as he continues to develop with the club. This was his best season yet, with 23 league goals and on course to win the League One Golden Boot dependent on the playoff scorers. He will be back again for a 4th season on loan from Birmingham. Samuel Iling - A second season on loan from Benevento and performed very well again. He was the go to player at left wing and scored 7 league goals and had most assists in League One with 13. His contract is up and we are trying to bring him in for the Championship, but his wage demands are huge. But we will see! Best Youth Intake Player: The youth intake was awful, just 1/2 a star. This was the best of them - Laurent Ouattara Overall Best Eleven: 6 players inducted Finances: Looking good for now due to success in the cups this season. The training facilities and youth facilities were upgraded early in the season, as well as getting improvements to junior coaching and youth recruitment. The board have provided a healthy wage and transfer budget for next season, as well as deciding to build a new stadium some time in the future. Not sure where that money is coming from! Manager Profile: I was busy completing the Continental B License this season and have also started with the A License too. I got offered a new contract at the end of the season, which extends it to 2029. Season Details League Table - We absolutely dominated the campaign from start to finish and won the league title and the promotion that comes with it by an astonishing twenty seven points. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We went on several very long winning runs, which proved too much for our opponents. F. A. Cup - We narrowly lost at home to Championship side Crystal Palace in the third round, though I was pleased with our performance. Carabao Cup - An agonising penalty shoot out loss at home to Championship outfit Birmingham City eliminated the club at the second round stage. Papa John's Trophy - We once again won our group and I thought we would retain our trophy. Alas, a poor performance at home to Cambridge United in the semi final, who play in the league below, saw the club crash out on penalties. Friendlies - It was an excellent pre season campaign as we only lost two matches and won quite a few games against higher ranked opposition. Squad - We have a decent squad though not good enough to challenge again. That said, with the right additions, I feel we can challenge for a play off spot. Squad Dynamics - As good as you would expect. Transfers In 1, 2 & 3 - We spent around £1.5m on transfers and loan fees and I significantly increased the quality of the playing squad. Transfers Out 1, 2, 3 & 4 - Some key players were sold to help balance the books and a plethora of youngsters went out on loan. Youth Candidates - It wasn't a great intake depth wise, though goalkeeper Elliot Williams YP26A13 looks like he could be a fine prospect. Finances - A worry. We lost a significant sum of money this year, so more players may need to be sold. Key Players Miguel Azeez - Our highest earner, the central midfielder was released by Arsenal and has been sensational for us. Brandon Cooper - The central defender arrived from Derby County for a transfer fee of £245,000 and has played very well indeed. Lee Buchanan - Now in his second season with us, the left back had a great campaign. Johan Gauthier - The young French central back was our best defender this season. I am desperate to get him for next year too, though his parent club, Marseille, are not currently interested. Kevin Recalde - Signed on loan from River Plate in his homeland, the teenage Argentine was our third centre half this year and played equally as well. Next Season With the right additions, I feel we can achieve a play off spot. Andrew Haines Posted July 9, 2022 Share Posted July 9, 2022 Whitby Town Premier League – 2039/40 – 4th Squad Transfers Overview Our first European qualification with a top 4 finish securing Champions League football for next season. After falling short of European qualification last season in pre-season I decided it was time to sell off some deadwood and try and improve the squad with some immediate talent. Around £120m of players went out the door including England Midfielder Chukwuemeka Ndubuisi to Man United for £60m. With this gap in midfield and the realisation that playmaker Colby Gee is not likely to realise the potential he showed as a 16 year old, in came midfielders Dyfed Summers-Jones for £18.5m from Man Utd and Gary MacGregor from Arsenal for £36m. Also incoming was Chelsea’s England centre-back Bert Bussens for £55m. All these players were on the fringes of their club sides but by the end of the season were in and around the England squad. Along with this added experience, the first generation of players I brought through is now in it’s prime. At the start of the season, Richie Bailey was 22 and Tyrese Lawton, Adam Allen and Peter Beckley all 21. With them hitting their potential I had a full team of experienced players with only Connor Hugo in defence a teenager. We were much more consistent and Lawton, Bailey and Summers-Jones all hit double figures. Allen had started to look unlikely to fulfil his potential so when Chelsea came in with a £53m bid in January I was happy to take it. I had a young lad called Troy Hathaway waiting in the wings. He was a £42m signing last season from Villa who is now 17 and has great potential so I thought I would expedite his path to the first team. We were in tight battle for European football but we ensured European football heading into the run by opening up a good gap to seventh place. It was the six wins from the final seven games that gave us Champions League football however. Key Players Richie Bailey – Another good season for Bailey scoring 16 goals from the left wing and continued to earn England recognition. Tyrese Lawton – The English striker scored 18 goals while establishing himself on the fringes of the England squad. Andrew Haines Posted July 9, 2022 Share Posted July 9, 2022 Whitby Town Premier League – 2040/41 – 6th Squad Transfers Overview Although we failed to secure Champions League football for a further season, this season was a success. We secured a second season of European Football in the Europa League with a top six finish. Most significantly though, we had a run in the Champions League that took us to the semi-finals. The season started spectacularly when Bayern Munich set their sights on our prodigious left winger Richie Bailey. After rejecting bids, he told me he wanted to go to Munich. I didn’t want to lose him but agreed that if we received a mammoth £175m we would sell him. I thought this would be enough to keep him but after rejecting many bids from Bayern, they agreed to stump up the £175m. Bailey joined five seasons ago and was the first of the British teenagers I bought to go straight into my first XI to develop when signed for £24m from Everton. He went on to star in England’s 2038 World Cup team and would top score in the Premier League in 2039. Prior to the Bailey sale I had brought in Arsenal’s young defender Stephen Uche for £50m to play the defensive midfield role and West Brom’s England internation Striker Aaron Butcher. The funds from Bailey’s sale gave me a significant budget which I invested in three of the best youth prospects in Britain. For a combined £112m I signed three 17 year olds, Striker Scott Boylan (Man City £32m), Winger Stephen Doherty (Everton £48m) and Brian Conlon (Arsenal £32m). Non of these would be first choice but with the wealth of games including European fixtures they both featured in a significant numbers of games. For the first team, Troy Hathaway took Bailey’s place on the left wing. Hathaway was a £42m signing from Villa two seasons ago and was worth a start. At 18 he was still raw with masses of potential but did score eight goals. I also brought in Man City’s English international left back Dean Brazier for £52m to replace Matthew Martin. Martin was the weak link in the team but I was fond of him as the only player thus far to come through my youth academy and break into the first team, he left for Sheff United for £24m. In Europe, we drew a tough group with PSG, Atletico Madrid and Dinamo Kiev. We won our first five games though comfortably finishing top. In the knockout round we dispatched AC Milan with 2-1 wins home and away and faced a semi-final against Barcelona. A 0-0 draw in the first leg at home didn’t bode well and it got worse when we went in at half time in the second leg a goal down. Second half goals from Tyrese Lawton and a Stephen Docherty penalty in the 85th minute after Grant Windsor was brought down gave us a 2-1 win and setup a semi-final against Real Madrid. A 4-1 defeat in the first leg at the Bernabeu all but ended our European adventure but it was very enjoyable. In the league the number of fixtures hit our form but we did still do enough to finish sixth securing European football for next season. Key Players · GK – Knut Karlsen – A bargain signing last season, the Norwegian international is a reliable keeper · RB – Peter Beckley – England’s first choice right back. In his six years at the club Beckley has been a massive success. · CB – Conner Hugo – Still only 19, Hugo has been first choice at centre-back for four seasons now. · CB – Bert Bussens – A big money signing from Chelsea for £52m in the summer. Bussens had a great season and is now a regular for England. · LB – Dean Brazier – England’s first choice left-back signed from Man City for £58m. · DM - Stephen Uche – A real prospect, Uche arrived from Arsenal for £50m and converted to the defensive midfield role. · AP – Dyfed Summers-Jones – A decent season for the ex-Man United playmaker. He is now a regular in the England side. · BBM – Ben Lynch – Club Captain Lynch is a first choice for England, now holding 23 caps. · IW – Tyrese Lawton – Lawton is always worth his place in the side. He moved from striker to the wing and contributed 19 assists · IF – Troy Hathaway – 18 year old Hathaway is a real prospect and got his chance two years on from a £42m move from Villa. · P – Aaron Butcher – Brought in to give me a natural finisher in attack, England international Butcher scored 16 goals. According to Wikipedia, the town has only about 11,000 inhabitants, and is located in the area of Surrey in the southeast of England. The club has won some lower ranked tournaments over the years, but since the titles are so small, the club has never ever won a trophy according to FM. The promotion to Vanarama National League South is also the club's highest position in the league system ever. We start with both a narrow squad and a very small staff. Our assistant coach is waiting for a work permit to become a manager for another club, and otherwise I only have one director of football in the staff who frankly isn't worth much. I expect to fill all vacant roles with new faces before the start of the season. In regards to transfers last season, only 3 players have come in and 2 of them have already moved on. Therefore, Ryan Bird is the only change since game start. I hope we can at least establish ourselves into the league with some good transfers. We do not have a single goalkeeper or right-back in the squad, so these are the most important places the club needs to be strengthened. The board expects me to buy players under 23, so I will try that as much as possible. I will update after the first season. We won The Double by finishing 1st in the league as well as winning the FA Trophy on penalties against Aldershot in the final. We dominated the league almost from the start with over 100 goals and points. In the FA Cup, it didn't go quite as well. We well enough defeated Southend in the 4th qualifying round, but were then beaten by AFC Telford after extra time and penalties. It was a game we should have won. I have chosen not to attach transfers, as here at the end of the season we only have one player from the start of the game left in the first team squad, namely Jacob Mellis. Therefore, the squad is attached instead to give a better overview of the team. Of the key players, I would like to highlight a few. Sam Bellis, who was released by Southampton, became the player of the year in the league, and our overall top scorer with a whopping 41 goals in all competitions. Callum Hulme, who came on a free from Leicester, was the creator and captain of the team, and got 20 assists and 23 goals in all competitions. One last I would like to mention is Lars Dendoncker who was a central defender who joined after being loaned from Brighton to Leyton Orient in League 2 last season where he played regularly. I saw his qualities better used as a full-back, and therefore he was retrained with zero experience in the position. Later in the season, he was rated as the league's best right-back. Cloondawg Posted August 3, 2022 Share Posted August 3, 2022 (edited) Season 5 (2026/27) - Sky Bet Championship Competitions: Overview Sky Bet Championship (Table| Results): Board Expectation: Fight bravely against relegation. Season Preview Odds: 23rd (200-1). Finish: 4th (Lost in Playoff Final to Fulham). I thought this would be a tough season because the gap in finances and reputation between us and other teams in the league had increased massively at this level, especially given the last 4 promotions. We had a transfer budget for the first time really but it was tough to improve the squad significantly due to our reputation and players not being interested. However, after a great first half of the season we gave ourselves a chance at promotion and went very close to both automatic promotion and then via the playoffs - but we just fell short. In the balance of the season, Fulham, Palace and Hull were better team and deserved to go up. Any other season so far, a total of 88 points would have been good enough for automatic promotion, apart from this season so it was a competitive league at the top of the table this year. We lost a lot of games against our promotion rivals and struggled a bit on the road towards the end of the season and this inconsistency ultimately led to a 4th placed finish after we had been top for a period. We managed to beat Brentford in the Playoff semi final over two legs, which included a huge 3-0 win at home in the second leg. Then we had Fulham in the Final and this was a very tight game that could have gone either way, but in the end they just edged it and we will play another season in the Championship. FA Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Fifth Round by Spurs. Another decent run in the FA Cup. We had a favourable Third Round tie and edged through against Swansea who were also in the Championship. Then we managed to beat Premier League Birmingham, who have since been relegated, in a thrilling 4-3 replay win. We drew Spurs away which was a very nice tie and provided a good cash injection. It ended 3-0 as we were outclassed and knocked out. EFL Cup (Results): Finish: Knocked out in Quarter Final by Newcastle A second Quarter Final, in two years, for us in the EFL Cup. We played lower league opposition up until the Fourth Round where we edged through past promotion rivals Fulham. Then we got a big away tie against Newcastle, who were at the time top of the Premier League. They absolutely destroyed our makeshift team 6-2. Club: Squad | End of Season Awards: Most of the squad stayed to begin with and then we sold some players who weren't being played in January. We added a few to the squad but it was tough to find those which would improve us. We were a little thin on the ground at times, but there is less matches in the Championship season (without the EFL Trophy) so it was not too bad. Transfers: This was the first time we had some transfer budget to spend and we brought in a few players for around 200k who came in and did well, but weren't our top performing players. We also sold a few for less than 100k each in January when they weren't playing and wanted to move, or their contracts were not going to be renewed. This sadly included club legend Harry Boyes who had been with us since the start and was one of the top performing players at the club in recent seasons. Club Vision: We had a member of the board who bought out the owner this season. The club vision has the objective to continue to fight bravely against relegation. Key Players: Sam Pearson - Quickly becoming a fan favourite and was outstanding this season. 8 goals and 19 assists from right wing in the league this season - breaking the league record for assists in a season. Harry Smith - Another good season from him. We brought in Kelly who I thought would start ahead of Smith, but his form was too good and he played most of the games. He got 17 goals in 26 league starts. Jake O'Brien - Rotated in and out of the centre back position with some of the other options we had, but he was the best performer. Started 21 league games and finished with a 7.21 averagerating. Samuel Iling - Another season on loan from Benevento and another great season. 11 goals and 6 assists from left wing for him this season in the league was amazing. I would like to bring him back on loan again but they are asking for a lot more wages and money for the loan now. Vitezslav Jaros - He's been the first choice keeper for 4 seasons now and he was one of the best performers this time. He's developed with the club and is solid for this level. Best Youth Intake Player: The youth intake was predicted at 5 starts but it ended up at just 1.5 stars. This was the best of them - Hassan Ugwu Overall Best Eleven: 2 players inducted Finances: The finances look very good and the best they have been. This is due to the TV money in the Championship and some good cash injections from cup ties. We also didn't spend all our transfer budget this season so this remained in the club's account. The board also announced plans to build a new stadium, which will cost £14m (including a £9.25m loan taken out) and this will be 13,452 capacity and be completed at the end of the 2028/29 season. Manager Profile: I completed the Continental A Licence and have started on the Pro Licence now. So actually finished the season with Silverware as well 😉 Champions League Held my own in the group stage but Atletico were too strong. This will be a tough competition to win.
