Shrewnaldo
Pretty simple but it would be good to include a requirement for a "percentage of next sale" clause when negotiating minimum fee release clauses with your players. I have no idea if this happens in real life but it makes a lot of sense to me that a smaller club would want to guarantee themselves a piece of the pie further down the road. It could even be done as an 'either/or' scenario. i.e. the release clause becomes: Club must accept a bit for Player X which meets either of the following criteria: £2m up front fee; or £1m up front fee and 20% of future sale clause
sammayel666
I like this idea! I just sold my best midfielder for 100k below his release fee because he was moving from Sweden to Chelsea and I was able to work in a 40% of next transfer clause. SI Staff Michael Sant Posted December 6, 2021 SI Staff Share Posted December 6, 2021 To the best of my knowledge this isn't something that actually happens in football at this time. A release clause is a price point at which a club is giving up all conditional aspects of negotiating. It stops being a release clause and more of just a pre-set point at which you're happy to sell a player. Thanks for taking the time to raise this idea however, it is something that may be declined as a feature or could after further development appear in the future of the FM series.
