shaunvamos
August 2035 Outs The vultures have come picking at my players again, as we lose a backup WB to Italy, and our starting CB and CM on deadline day. Depth may be a problem, so let's hope no one gets hurt 5.9m profit, and over 25m overall, but at what cost? Ins We could only replace Vesely, no one was good enough at CM to become a starter. A slowish start to the season, but we're undefeated. The ridiculous group comes back, but we should have little trouble with tycoon-backed Slovakian side Pohronie who I've never heard of but have won 5 of the last 6 Slovakian league titles. shaunvamos
September 2035 I am not having a good time. We're not even playing badly, our xG table has us first. We just haven't been clinical in front of goal. But 6th place is a position we haven't been for a long, long time and it has to change. National Team Oh boy, it's very close. shaunvamos
October 2035 We navigate a tough month full of travelling undefeated, despite a few injuries that are exposing our recent lack of depth. shaunvamos
November 2035 We begin our slow climb up the league ladder, and we've qualified for the CL knockouts despite a loss to Roma, as RB Leipzig lost to Pohronie National Team It was nervy, but we scraped into qualification by winning our two easiest games. shaunvamos
March/April 2036 Accidentally simmed the LASK match so I just put both months together, and we're doing great things. CL football secured next season, and 3 points clear with 4 games to go. National Team We state our intent for the Euros with a good win over the Netherlands. shaunvamos
Austria's 2036 Euro Campaign Squad The squad is slightly younger but also slightly weaker, not a good sign for the reigning finalists. Red Bull Salzburg absolutely dominate the development with 8 players starting out there, perhaps an indictment on our development style given how successful we've been over the last 7-8 years. Still, there are positives with the youngsters, headlined by NxGn winner Yannik Wald, who I have my eye on as a future St Polten player. Friendlies We dominate Israel, but are only able to score via penalty. Worrying signs that we can't be clinical. Groups The two finalists from 4 years ago are drawn together in the group stage, and Ireland and Ukraine won't be pushovers either. Portugal/Holland, France/Spain and Germany/England are all blockbuster early matchups as well.
shaunvamos
Austria's Euro 2036 Campaign Group Stage We go undefeated in the group stage, and would have had 2 wins if not for an 88th minute goal by Ireland. No real shocks here, and it's on to the knockouts. Where we will surely lose, because we've drawn perennial OP team England. At least we've met the minimum expectations. One of Portugal and France will not though. Second Round A brave effort, but just not enough. Hosts Portugal showed their impressive home advantage by dismantling France, Italy needed ET to beat Turkey, Ukraine shock Spain, and Belgium keep their title defence alive. Quarter Finals Belgium are showing they deserve to be defending champions as Germany are brushed aside. Elsewhere hosts Portugal keep the dream alive, Holland end Ukraine's run and England only just got past the Czechs. Semi Finals Wow. Belgium are excellent! Hopefully they can half England's dominance of everything (except the Euro). Final Ugh, let's move on.
shaunvamos
Preseason 2036 Outs An overall profit of 18.75m, but the starting keeper, backup LWB, RWB and CB are all gone. Academy players will do their best to plug the gaps. Ins We've once again taken from the stockpile of German/Chinese players that Bayern seem to have, as well as sign a replacement GK and welcome back a familiar face in Kovacec after making just 10 appearances in Ligue A for PSG. Goalkeeper Central Defender Central Midfielder The media snub continues. What on earth do we have to do to be the favourites? shaunvamos
August 2036 Outs This window hurt, but not financially. We lose our starting ST, RWB and CB, as well as our backup CB and LWB. We did find replacements, but it hurts. Ins Seitz comes in to replace Weber, Nieddu is the new RWB and Haitz will play at DM as Jannik Drose slots into the Libero position. Right Wing Back Defensive Midfielder Striker We haven't had 4 scored on us in the league in a long time, but now that our side is sorted hopefully these kinds of results become a rarity. At least Salzburg got off to a slow start too. This is just a ridiculous group, Europa League again I feel. I expect Salzburg to do the same, and hopefully LASK gets some decent results. shaunvamos
September 2036 Bayern have made the final in 4 of the last 5 CLs, and they showed why as we were just non-existent. At least form has picked up i the league, and we have a slight lead now. National Team Tough group, but we shouldn't get relegated.
shaunvamos
October 2036 Everything went well this month, and despite getting flogged by Bayern it seems that we're the clear 2nd best team in the CL group. National Team Romania beat Italy of course, so it's down to the last 2 games to decide who gets relegated.
shaunvamos
November 2036 Safely through to the Champions League knockouts after impressive performances, and we have a shot at going 8-10 points clear at the halfway point in the league. shaunvamos
December 2036 We head into the winter break with a solid lead. Accidentally simmed through the winter break and one league game, but the CL knockout draw is still pretty intact. We beat Barcelona the last two times we've played them, in the 34/35 Champions League. Can we continue that? Meanwhile Bayern and Real Madrid have a blockbuster, and the only non Big 5 team besides us is Swiss side Young Boys, who we are battling with as a nation to keep our 2 CL group spots. shaunvamos
Winter Break/February 2037 Outs An academy player that made 11 appearances departs for Switzerland. RoguPL
By your OVR. Looks like GK is the culprit of your unsuccess in CL knockouts. shaunvamos
2037 Preseason Outs We lose 2 of our starting CBs and a backup LWB, but we make plenty of money off the sales, a total of 15.3m in profits. Added to what we already had in the transfer budget brought it up to about 90m to spend. And boy did we finally spend it Ins We finally have players willing to sign for us that are better than our current starters! No real bargains here, but we had the budget to accommodate them, and will be paying instalments over the next 3 seasons. But that's fine, if I sell them on they'll make me some money anyway. Two wonderkids as well Central Defenders Defensive Midfielder Central Midfielder Striker It only took us winning 6 league titles in a row, but we're finally predicted 1st by the media National Team Still undefeated in our WCQ group. Other than that league looks easy now It seems like keepers develop much later, but yeah Benali doesn't really have potential. I think the attributes for a sweeper keeper are quite difficult to reach to be considered good. The Austrian NT keeper group are at only about 73 overall, so I don't think Benali is too bad. shaunvamos
August 2037 Outs Pretty much everyone in the reserves goes out on loan to get some proper development. We've gotten off to a fantastic start, scoring 23 goals in our first 6 games and already out to a 6 point lead. We can definitely get out of this group I think, and Rapid could drop to the Europa League. Not much hope for LASK though.
shaunvamos
September 2037 The league seems to already be a foregone conclusion, and we've gotten off to a good start in the Champions League. shaunvamos
October 2037 Injuries and fatigue exposed us a little bit this month, as LASK FM'd us and Milan put 7 past us. shaunvamos
November 2037 We stumble through the league as fatigue and injuries are still an issue, and we head into our final CL game against Shakhtar with a shot at becoming first seed for the knockouts, but also a shot at dropping down into the Europa League. National Team A remarkable display of defence in the WCQ campaign, only conceding 1 goal the entire time.

shaunvamos
December 2037 We're through to the knockouts of the CL again, as normality resumes for us in the league. shaunvamos
Austria's 2038 World Cup Campaign Squad There's been a bit of a generational shift for this World Cup, as our Best XI is over 2 years younger on average, although slightly less strong. It also appears that the dominance of RB Salzburg in providing for the national team is over, as they're only responsible for 2 players as opposed to 8 two years ago. The club with the most players? Us, but the funny thing is that 2 of those players never played a senior game for us Max Hartmann 12C* also becomes the first St Polten academy player to play for Austria in a major tournament while still contracted to the club (he's on loan in Hungary at the moment). Friendlies Two good wins, including a win over the hosts in South Africa. Our Group A very tough group, with two continental powerhouses. Group Stage Turns out we needn't have worried, safely through to the Second Round Not much to report here in terms of upsets, unless you count Australia exiting early as well as hosts South Africa. Some notable (Top 32) nations who didn't qualify: #11 Belgium: Finished behind Ireland and the Czech Rep in their WCQ group. #28 Ghana: Finished behind DR Congo, Egypt and Senegal in their WCQ group. Brutal. #31 Sweden: Finished 2nd in their WCQ behind Spain, and 7th out of the Second Placed teams where 6 qualified. I think we can get past Morocco, which we'll need to do in order for me to keep my job. Otherwise all these fixtures should be straightforward, but I know they won't be. Second Round A lot closer than it probably should have been, but safely through regardless. The biggest upset in my opinion is Norway knocking the dangerous Uruguay out, although Bulgaria defeating Mexico is a pretty significant one too. Brazil, Spain and Denmark all required extra time to win their games, but yeah, next round is where the fun begins I guess. Well even here the matchups are a little underwhelming, with only Germany and Brazil likely to be the only giants to go home. Unless we beat Argentina of course. Third Round Penalty merchants Quarter Final bound!!! The Brazilians are going to be as exhausted as we are, having played two straight penalty shootouts, but the only other upset was Serbia knocking out Spain. It's a European whitewash with the exception of Brazil, who have a tough task of trying to end England's quest for 4 World Cups in a row. Quarter Finals The dream ends, but to make the last 8 is awesome. Brazil ran out of energy, falling to England, as Serbia's run also ends. Semi Finals Finally. After 16 years, it's leaving home. Portugal make their second straight final, and Italy hope to keep the teams that have won the World Cup since this save started to just them and England. Final On penalties, Italy have done it. Holland take 3rd, defeating England. Edited September 12, 2022 by shaunvamos

shaunvamos
Preseason 2038 Outs Backup striker, backup DM, starting RWB and an Austrian international demoted to the reserves leave as well as some academy players, all for a total profit of a whopping 33.5m. Ins We obviously had to replace our departing RWB, but Walther wasn't my first choice. But he's young, so there's plenty of time for him to fill those boots. I'm most excited by Kinigopoulous though, he's going to be immense up front. Wing Backs Striker An amazing preseason, and we're at even shorter odds to win the league this season.
shaunvamos
August 2038 Outs We finally farewell Fabrice Noah, the man who was brought in from Stuttgart 8 seasons ago at 23 for just 43k, where everybody wrote him off as being nowhere near our standard. Fast forward and he's made 210 league appearances, scored 50 goals, became club captain for a couple of seasons, and even made his debut for Cameroon while with us and making another 50 after that. So to sell him for over 100 times what we bought him for is justice for what he's provided for us, as he probably sees out his career in the Middle East. The best part about this window was our good players getting offers from massive clubs... and the guys didn't want to move? Is this our year? Elsewhere, we make a lot of money on two academy prospects in Austrian international Max Hartmann and future international Dieter Kulovits. In this month alone we made 22m profit, bringing the total for this window to over 55m. We just had to put that to good use... Ins Did we overpay for Logologo? Absolutely, but he's the best RWB available to us and gives us much needed depth in that position. Czech-Brazilian Paulo Selson pushes long time starter Sulc into the subs, further reinforcing our depth, as does Austrian wonderkid Yannik Wald who strengthens our left side. Now, I think we have a side that can push for the Champions League even if we have a couple of injuries. Central Defender Wing Backs What a start. Kinigopoulous has hit the ground running, with 11 goals in his first 6 league games. We contrast that with this shocker of a group, but I think we can qualify. Just. Group H and F are also groups of death.
shaunvamos
September 2038 We are absolutely killing it in the league, but was disheartened by the flogging by Leipzig.
