with this challenge are their loans and signings didnt see anything about it in the opening post wasnt sure if there was signings and loans or if this is a youth challenge only type of challenge

You can players or loans.

You can play it as a youth only challenge also it is up to you.

You need to post a screen shot of your manager profile as you must start with a sunday league reputation.

The full list of rules can be found on the 1st post.

New Mills 2022/20223

League: 2nd (Lost 1-0 in play off final after going down to 10 men)

Fa Cup: 3rd Qualifying Round

Fa Vase: Quarter Final

League Cup:  3rd Round

Another season at level 9 for me after a tough defeat in the play-off final, I went down to 10 men after about half an hour and conceded shortly after, we didn't look like getting back into the game after that

That was a bit unlucky not getting promoted after losing on the final day.

I wasn't happy losing the play-off final but I think it is a blessing in disguise as it gives me a chance to build and develop my players a bit more before a tougher challenge

I did edit the final screengrab just to remove a bit of personal detail for data protection :D

Yes that is fine.

The only thing i really need to see is that you have a sunday league reputation & that you have no coaching badges.

And good luck.

Cheddar FC - 2021/2022 Season

Competitions:

Western league division 1 (Tier 10): 1st Place

FA Vase: 1st Qualifying Round - Knocked out

FA Cup: Extra preliminary round - Knocked out

Challenge Points: 15

Finances: -£6398

Transfers in: 0

Transfers out: 3

Season one saw Cheddar FC achieve promotion to the Western league premier division.  This season was a bit of a shock considering I made the choice to only use players from my youth academy.  The squad for the season had an average age of 22 and only 24 players used.  This was a league record for both metrics.

Finances took a bit of a hit this season, the wage bill was moving between £400 - £500 P/W and I put a lot of focus on getting a decent backroom team together which destroyed my outgoings each week/month.

A little unsure of what to do next season and looking for your thoughts - Continue using youth only and see how things go or delve into the transfer market?

It is up to you what you want to do.

I would try and reduce the number of staff you have though if it is costing you too much.

If I get promoted this season I think I'm going to knock level 10 off to improve game speed, my laptop is a pig so it's struggling atm

Ok but just be careful you dont get relegated or sacked as you will need level 10 to get another job if sacked or level 10 as the lowest level if in level 9.

After a mad opening 3 months with half decent cup runs, I think I am doing ok, considering recruitment has been so tight, I had to sign up grey players to fill some gaps

New Mills 2024/2025

Wow a completely unexpected promotion this season, I had a squad revolt mid season as well due to me probably being a bit too harsh with a key player complaint and booting him out of the door and as a result I had a very unhappy squad and got rid of half of them

League - 5th (promotion via a penalty shootout win after going down to 10 men) - 30 pts

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Cups - slightly disappointing performance in all the cups bar the league cup

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Total points - 75

Total trophies - 3

So we left at the brocton game on the 26th of November with Ellesmere... Then we reapplied for a Lv 10 Team... Took over Cove and took them from 12th to promotion. Dec 17th is when I took over Cove...  We didn't get a chance to take part in the cups. Keep in mind I have a different set rules. I am allowed to bring in 6 loans only.. Other then that I cannot sign anyone else except for my youth intakes. The only time i can sign players is April every year and those are players I sign from Season loans that ive brought in thats the only way I can bring in players from outside of my club..

Finally on the board - Combined Counties League Division 1 Promotion - 15 Pts lol

What a fantastic first season! Certainly wasn't expecting to win the Vase. We started off slowly but once all the new lads gelled, we were superb. Never looked like dropping points with the 4-3-3 formation working wonders.

New Mills 2025/2026

Quite a nothing season really, finished a bit higher up the table than expected due to an incredible run of form towards the end of the season, normally this would give me hope of a good season next but the finances are shot and I had to get in some free loans to fill up the squad after having to let some players go to trim the spend down a bit , so who knows how next season will go. No additional points or trophies

An incredible season even if we did completely bottle the cups this season. That's probably a bit harsh as we did get FM'ed twice but what can you do. One thing I've noticed in my time at Lairds is the high turnover of players and how important your chief scout is. My chief scout has come up with some cracking recommendations, including Rob Harker who is an absolute beast up top.

Here! We! Go!

Was drawn to Newent Town FC by their simple yet attractive logo and nickname, the Daffs - here to bring this team to glory!4

(No, I do not speak all of those languages, my head coach on a different save based in India managed to pick them all up. I am American-Indian and speak native English and conversational German)

Looks like another season in Level 9 for Season 3 coming up.. Here is Season 2 Results so close. Debating if I should stick to my tactic or maybe 4-2-4 or 4-4-2 as i wanna stay 2 strikers lots to decide in off-season. Quite the challenge on just using loan players and Youth intake players as the only players I can bring in. Or maybe fix my 4-3-3 tactic

Ok, I'm in. Went for the most local team, was between these and Bury AFC, kinda glad it wasn't Bury though because that would have felt like a bit of a cop out.

Let's go.

Updates may be slow because I'm enjoying my other save at the moment.

So, isle of man sounds like a cool place to start.  Lets give this a shot.

I did not disable attribute masking, seems weird to allow coaches to choose or not choose this option.  I never play with the masking disabled, seems like it would be cheezie to do that, I'm sure I will struggle.

Take care!

Hallam FC

Hi all, going to take up this challenge with a youth only policy. I've chosen Hallam FC as they're the closest team available to me in the database and I've been to see them a few times in the past. Based in Sheffield, they're also famous for playing at the oldest surviving football ground in the world (Sandygate), playing in the first ever official match in England (lost 2-0 to Sheffield FC) and being the team Sean Bean's character Jimmy Muir was playing for when scouted by Sheffield United in the film 'When Saturday Comes'.

Looking forward to this, thank you for the database file @lionel messi!
