OlivierL
My Caley Braves is on hold due to some bugs in Scotland, unfortunately. I wanted to have another team with Foreign regens and that is why I end up with a wonderful club Africanos Bragança ! A team in Portugal with african students (mostly from Cape Verde) City & Country Africanos Bragança are located in Bragança . A town with +- 35000 people. Bragança is a city in Portugal . +-150000 Cape Verdeans live in Portugal. Castelo De Bragança Cape Verde is a group of 10 Islands outside West Africa, south of the Canary Islands and have a population of +-483628 people and a total of +- one million live abroad in the United states ( +- 500000). Some of them join Africanos Bragança to get a proper education and play football in the Portugese lower leagues. In 1951, Cape Verde was incorporated as an overseas department of Portugal, but its inhabitants continued to campaign for independence, which they achieved in 1975. Cape Verdean Football Federdation Cape Verde of Cabo Verde national team are called Tubarões Azuis (Blue sharks) and since 2020 they have a logo with a shark on their chest. Cape Verde is number 80 on the world ranking and reached the quarter final of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 . They never qualified for the Fifa World Cup . Cape Verde have youth nation rating '46' and Portugal '134'. The FCF organise competitions for almost every island , most of them have a first and second division. One Nation, Ten Islands, 1 dream #Ontheroadtovictory The club There is very little to be found about AEAB . They have facebook, instagram and an old website but no wikipedia and very few news articles. I did see some recent youtube videos (in portuguese) about their project. They were formed in 2000 and according to their website they attracted studens from Angola, Cape Verde, Guiné Bissau, Moçambique & São Tomé e Príncipe . African Student Association Bragança-IPB, has as its main objective to defend the interests of all African students studying at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. Promoting the bond of friendship between peoples, culture and Sport. Instituto Politécnico de Bragança - Escola Superior de Educação The U19 (only thing i changed according to real life) joined the U19 Bragança league and can get promoted to higher U19 leagues. Something that wasn't possible at the Braves. Stadium Parque Desportivo De Santa Apolonia - Capacity 1000( 1000 seats) - Poor Youth facilities & Adequate Training facilities Can't find a lot of information but they have 1000 seats according to FM but in real life they have .. none Edited January 8, 2022 by OlivierL

Squad We start with 13 real players and 6 newgens from first intake. The homegrown rule will be the biggest challenge, most of the players above aren't homegrown so i'll have to use many grey players in the first season(s). Spoiler Key players Oliveira is our best defender, Bilimbota is our best striker. Youth intake 2022 - Best of the class Moreno 22A is a good fast striker for this level, i like him ! Spoiler Facts I know this will be a hardcore challenge, especially in the early seasons with hardly any homegrown players to meet the mandatory registration rules. I expect to end up in the relegation playoffs for a few seasons and have to survive there. Let the games begin ! As a tribute to @XaW 's hard work with this club, I will try to achieve the challenge with this team (with only youth) for him I had to reload 40 times ! I already played 7 seasons and posted about it in the youth only and Cape Verde challenge topics. I'll keep posting review of the seasons in those topics and post more details over here. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Youth intake preview - Season 1 - Class 2023 Not excellent in my first season, strange.. but a good DC, two Mc's a DMC an two wingers.. I need them.. and i have to wait before they'll become homegrown
OlivierL
That homegrown thing in the first season(s) is idd really hard. youth from intake (holiday season) are homegrown but how are they calculating this ? Semedo 22C needs almost one more year before he is homegrown, strange.. he is only two weeks younger in comp. with Almeida 22D Is this something at the background ? Semedo joined the club when he was 14/15 and Almeida joined the youth ranks when he was 13 or younger ? And to make it worse , in the relegation of promotion stage (after the regular stage) you only have 5 subs. so 16 players involved and 13 of those need to be homegrown (almost non of the real senior players are homegrown).
OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2023 Preview Not a great intake and many with a negative personality but some of them will go directly into the first team , if they become homegrown. I'll sign them all. Sanches 23A has the best PA , Silva 23i has the best Ca .
OlivierL
Intro Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Season 1 (2022/2023) Review - 4th tier - Campeonato De Portugal Squad| Youth Intake 23 | Transfers | Finances| Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 Campeonato De Portugal : We finished 7th in the regular competition and had to play the relegation stage. We lost in our final game but Sabugal did the same.. so we are staying up ! Very difficult with an average of 5 'real' players that i could use , had to use 3 or 4 grey players in the first eleven , and also a very 'grey' bench. Taça de Portugal: Lost in the first round. U19 : Our U19 lost their final game against Bragança (our neighbours) and finished 2nd. Only the champion gets promoted. so our U19 stays in the 3rd tier. Key Players Oliveira is our best defender but isn't homegrown so i couldn't use him in the relegation stage. Pereira is our other DC and he had a 'good' season. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Moreno 22A played the most games as academy player and scored 4 , assisted 5. Miscellaneous The board upgraded almost everything , asking it only one or two times. New president elected but he has no intention to invest. Aim for next season It was a frustrating season because of the homegrown rules. I know the second one will be like that too so I hope to not get relegated again and hold on. maybe by September I can use some extra youth players. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2024 Preview Last class was better but determination wise, this one is much higher. also some good personaliteis Almeida 24A has the best PA , Borges 24F has the best Ca . with 3.5 CA but with a bad personality / determination i'm not sure if he'll become good. In the relegation stage we won more and got 4 more points compared to last season. This means that we have had a limited progression but still have a long way to go to compete for the promotion stage. We could now often field 11 players with a bench full of grey players. But as soon as a player was suspended, I had to sacrifice real players. As a result, 7 players want to leave on free transfer, four are effectively out of contract and I will not be able to keep them. With Borges i'll lose a key player. Taça de Portugal: Lost in the second round . U19 : Our U19 won the Bragança league and are promoted to the second tier U19 . Key Players Pereira had a good season and is a homegrown DC. Barros is our best player but he won't sign a new deal. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Semodo 22C had a good season with 12 goals. Miscellaneous No upgrades(bad Finances) but at the start of the second season i got a B squad. Won't use it at the moment but this will be good for the future. Aim for next season I also hope to fill a bench with academy players to get rid of those grey players for good. The quality is still poor and I will need a few more seasons to compete for promotion. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2025 Preview This class is good determination and personality wise. Got a 3.5* CA player , our best ever youth intake player. Varela 25A has the best PA , Evora 25J has the best Ca . with 3.5 CA . He is our best intake player since starting this save. Again i had more players to use but it is still a puzzle at certain positions. The fact that youth players are sometimes homegrown after two seasons is very annoying. But we make slight progress year after year so it remains fun. We had a tough time in the relegation stage, but in the end we stayed in the league and our city rival Bragança dropped out of the fourth tier. They kept me out of the top two in the regular stage so.. karma ! Taça de Portugal: Lost in the second round again. U19 : Our U19 finished second in the second tier but finished last in the promotion stage. Key Players Oliveira is our best defender now and captain. i hope he can lead the defence in the next years. Graça is our number one goalkeeper and had a good season. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Ramos 24H is had a good season up front , scoring 12. Miscellaneous Again no upgrades. Only some increases for allowed coaches and wage. Received two of three job interviews. two from 3th tier, one from 2nd tier. Aim for next season I will be able to bring in some good youth players again because they are finally homegrown. It will be the last year of four senior players, two of whom are regulars. They won't talk or sign for two years now, so I will lose them at the end of the 4th season. And I don't have any replacement(s) yet. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Youth intake preview - Season 4 - Class 2026 An Attacking Midfielder is the only thing we don't need (i know i can retrain him but..) OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2026 Preview Not happy with this class ! Our worst intake , average wise. For a long time we were in 4th place, but two gameweeks before the end of the competition, after a draw against the leader, we were able to level with Gondomar SC. By winning on the last match day and their loss game, we finished second and are therefore sure of an unexpected promotion ! Taça de Portugal: Lost in the second round again. U19 : Our U19 finished 6th in the second tier but survived in the relegation stage. Key Players Pereira had a solid season at the back and Graça had a great season with 14 clean sheets. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Oliveira 24i played almost every game and had a good season as our BWM or B2B midfielder. Miscellaneous No upgrades , only downgrades at the end of season 3. At the end of season 4 we turned professional ! And we need an expensive new pitch Aim for next season We are losing three real players who have wanted to leave for free for years and can't change that. one was our absolute star player and only option at left back. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2027 Preview A great intake with high determination avg. and 3 players scoring above 40% , great for this level / Africanos ! This is our best class . Sanchez 27A had the best PA but the three that scores above 40 are Tavares 27H (future B2B or maybe i could use him as a IF ?) & Almeida 27B gives me new options up front. I received two good defenders with fairly pro Veiga 27G being my best option (maybe not tall enough) !

I expect to be in this division for a few more years before I can compete for promotion. Taça de Portugal: Lost narrowly in the third round against Vizela from LIGA NOS. U19 : Our U19 finished 4th in the second tier and survived in the relegation stage. Key Players Pereira had a solid season at the back and Graça had a good season but this time only 6 clean sheets. This was necessary because we have to pay back a loan of 250k At the end of the season and with financed in red , the board accepted a new improvement after asking for it 10 times. I had few expectations there as Lourosa and Belenenses are much better. This was the situation after 4 match days, I still had to go to Sintrense and then at home against Lourosa: We won at Sintrense which was to be expected in our current form and Lourosa played equal against Belenenses. I had to win on the last matchday because Lourosa had a better goal difference in case of a draw. Barbosa 23B scored a great goal after i changed my tactic and secured the promotion ! We lost the Championship play-offs against Marinhense but that doesn't mean anything. Taça de Portugal: Lost again the third round against Montalegre U19 : Our U19 finished 2th in the second tier and finished third in the promotion stage.. so they got promoted to the first division U19 ! Key Players Again the same two key players : Pereira had a solid season at the back and Graça had a good season with 12 clean sheets. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Tavares 27H had a great first season and he is our main midfielder and assisted 5. Miscellaneous & Finances No upgrades this season. Our balance is the only thing that is not growing at the moment, we are in deep red. In the second tier, you get 300k to participate but I don't see much prize money either, so it will remain a problem and a slowdown in our development. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Youth intake preview - Season 7 - Class 2029 My wishlist was : a leftback and goalkeeper. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2029 Preview A much better intake with really good personalities and determination. I needed a good DL and i got a good prospect. Also a very good DC and target forward ! Antunes 29A and Dos Santos 29D are our two best players from this intake. future DC with a resolute personality and a future Dl with '12' on determination. I think they both can make it. Taça de Portugal: Lost again the third round against Sp.Braga Taça De Liga - Allianz Cup: I have made it to the group stage and that is where you can make some money (prize money or playing at a bigger club with shared gate receipts. U19 : Our U19 finished 11th in the 1st tier and had to play the relegation stage. They got relegated back to 2nd tier. Key Players And again Graça and Pereira as our two key players. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Veiga 27G played the most games and is a really important defender for us. He is the first player that received a Cape Verde call-up but he could be next one that leaves for free.. i have him for one (+2 option) years but he wants to move to a bigger club. OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2030 Preview A good intake attribute wise. I needed a top GK prospect and could do with a good striker.. i think i got them both ! Personality wise this wasn't a good intake . Gomes 30A has the highest potential but his personality is a problem. Varela 30B has the highest CA and could get into the first team next season. Our two best options are my future goalkeeper Lopes 30F , he is good and tall enough and has a good personality. I hope he'll also become Cape Verde's keeper. Miranda 30C is a great target forward that lacks a good personality. He will be my first option next season . I'll sign 13 of this intake. After 8 intakes we got a new nationality, Russia ! After a great season and especially a very strong second round with many wins, we were certain of the second place and so automatically promotion. It became exciting though after a serious injury to season revelation Varela 28D. He became our assist king but I had to miss him the last few months. Taça de Portugal: Lost in the second round against a lower league team. Taça De Liga - Allianz Cup: We beated Boavista after penalties but lost in the next round against Belenenses SAD . U19 : Our U19 finished 1st in the second tier and got promoted after a third place spot in the promotion stage. Back to the first U19 tier ! Key Players And again Graça and Pereira as our two key players. Academy graduate with most Appearances (This season) Our new leftback Dos Santos 29D had an average season but got the most minutes as an academy player. Miscellaneous & Finances No upgrades this season. After our promotion we needed to rent the stadium from our rivals Bragança , because you need a stadium with 5000 seats. Finances are dark red.. We received some cash from the board but we need a few seasons in the 1st tier to get that TV Money and get a positive balance. Aim for next season The third promotion came very quickly and I doubt my squad will make it in Liga Portugal BWIN but hopefully in time it will help us become financially healthier and finally upgrade some facilities. OlivierL
Squad Overview - Season 9 - Liga BWIN I'm going to talk about my first eleven and potential backup players . *Average age first team : 21.07 year *Average age first eleven : 20.36 year Goalkeeper - Sweeper - Attack: Graça, our main goalkeeper for 8 seasons. He is 34 years old so this could be one of his last season(s). Lopes 30F should be the one to replace him. he will train with the first team but play for U19. Rodrigues 23N is an average backup. Left Wing-back - Attack: Dos Santos 29D made his debut last season and did ok. He is my only option right now, because his backup is our 35 years old captain Oliveira. Central Defence - Defend: Pereira is our main defender since season 1 . He is a tall defender but lacks a few technical skills. Veiga 27G is our defensive diamond and has everything to become an important Cape Verdean international. I hope i can keep him for a long time. With Sanches 25H we have a decent left footed central defender but with Antunes 29A we have a very good future prospect. Right Full-back - Support: Sousa is our main full-back but Borges 24F has everything to become a first team member, except a good personality / determination. Ball Winning Midfielder - Defend & Box To Box Midfielder - Support: Oliveira 24i and Tavares 27H are a strong partnership since Tavares joined the first team in 2028. In Varela 30B we have a very good future prospect . Morais 23L is a good ball winning backup and Montrond 23G a very underestimated backup. Inside Forward Support & Attack: Almeida 27B & Varela 28D are my two wingers, both very young and fast. With Barbosa 23B , Robalo 23H & Almeida 28E we have some very decent backups. Pressing Forward - Attack & Target Forward - Support: A very young partnership with a 16 & 15 year old , Silva 29B (PF) & Miranda 30C (TF) are our best forwards . With Semedo 22C , Semedo 27C and Ramos 24H as backup forwards with Semedo 22C being the first option to replace one of the young kids up front. All the important players have contracts with options for two, three years but if i want to give any talent a new contract, their agents ask an obligates minimum release clause for any clubs.. so that will be a problem in the near future. Those amounts aren't negotiable and are very very low. For Example my diamond player Veiga 27G would sign a new contract for 3+3 years but with a release clause for 11k.. Our Press 4-2-2-2 that we are using on FM22. Edited January 9, 2022 by OlivierL

karanhsingh
Wow great work getting to the top division. Although looking at the team I think you could find life quite hard there! Lets hope the players keep on progressing and punching above their weight.

Although looking at the team I think you could find life quite hard there! Lets hope the players keep on progressing and punching above their weight. Thanks, it will be very difficult indeed. I also have huge problems to keep the better talents. They often signed new contract before the promotion but always with a releaes clause for clubs from a higher division, always for very low amounts . this temporarily falls away after the promotion . Now certain talents still only want to sign for a very low minimum release fee. If I wait too long, i risk that players becoming unhappy and want to go to better clubs (Veiga 27G is the next one who might leave within 1.5 season and I already lost Evora 25J, who is still without a club. ) . If I sign them quickly with a release clause, I can lose them faster than the duration of their contract. I always let them sign with an option for two years, but if they become unhappy during that period, I lose them after those years.

OlivierL
Africanos Bragança - Portugal - Youth Intake - Class 2031 Preview Not a bad intake , we don't get any 40% player but average wise it is a good one. With a new potential first team striker and a fullback. And we got our first model citizen. After 8 seasons we changed our hoyd. Good old China was replaced by model.cit Sobral Semedo 31N is our Model citizen DMC and has the biggest CA. Dias 31B could become a good midfielder and Lopes 31E has some potential for the fullback position. Romario Moreira 31A has the biggest PA and he could become our best pressing forward. Love the name & one of my childhood hero's ! Edited January 13, 2022 by OlivierL
