Kits refusing to work

I have a weird problem with custom kits. It seems to affect only a single team (Racing de Santander) but given that it's the team I'm currently playing as, it's kind of annoying...

Basically, the kits for my team stopped working midway through my save. Everything was fine for a few years, then (using the in-game editor) I added a new set of alternate shorts and socks to my third kit and all three kits disappeared. When I select "allow licensed kits", the jerseys I made do show up but as soon as I click on anything else and close the team info page it resets and when I get back to it everything resets to the generic kit models. I've cleared the cache, reloaded the skin, but the same thing happens every time. This issue only seems to affect one team: when I make in-game editor kit changes to other teams' kits, it doesn't end up overriding the custom uniforms.

Ultimately this is something that I can kind of live with, but is there anything else I could try doing?
