Tactical GUI Enhancement Suggestion

Hi guys,

I've seen a few posts related to the Tactics interface and requests for visibility of "Attacking" and "Defending" tactics.

I have a suggestion for how I think this could be achieved via a GUI enhancement that (I believe) wouldn't require any changes to the ME;

My understanding is (generalising) that the formation interface is closely representative of the 'defensive' formation, with role and individual instructions determining the 'attacking' formation.

On this basis, my suggestion would be to;

  • have two formation interfaces (either side by side or via a toggle)
  • update the representative position of the 'attacking' role on the 'attacking' interface depending on the role / instructions defined on the 'defending / default' interface
  • have a 'drag and drop' function on the 'attacking' interface reflective of, and limited to, the different roles available for that position
    • ie, a player occupying the ML position in the 'default' interface could be dragged to AML in the 'attacking' interface with the choice of role reflective on that part of the pitch similar to the existing role selection drop-down option (Winger / Attack in this example) with the player instructions being set accordingly, or similarly dragged into the AMLC position for a choice of Inverted Forward / Inverted Winger for example.

Hopefully that makes some sense - happy to clarify if needed :)

This is very similar to how it was way back in CM0102 with Wib/Wob screens. (Wib = With ball, Wob = Without ball so basically attack/defensive)

We do get suggestions of this nature from time to time. It's not currently a path that is being looked at from a development perspective, but that doesn't mean it never could happen. We'll keep this idea in mind.
