I really like going deep into saves, (I really struggle in the early seasons), and I often play Youth Only which helps to speed the process up on top of the IR button. Because of efforts I go to in other areas, I wonder if if the IR button is actually counter-productive to speeding up the game in the long rin. Player development is the part of the game I enjoy most, but at the same time I don't like controlling Team Training. Again, I appreciate that what I like and don't like are a little incompatible. Jimbokav1971
Transfers in. Jul 2041. The Summer window has opened and straight away 4 new players have arrived. Davids (RSA) was signed on a free simply on the basis of his 5.0 PA. Unfortunately that's been downgraded to 4.5 PA fter his arrival. Uzoma (NGA) was signed on the basis of his scout report, but he's taken a huge drop in PA since his arrival so I think the scout report bight have been bogus. On the plus side, we didn't pay any money for him and of course he's still young enough to be available for the U19's. Kitoko (BEL)(COD) * might have cost us £25M, but he's immediately valued at so this could still be a bargain. Tavares (POR)(GNB) * was signed by £30.5M but just look at his valuation after his arrival! Even after splashing out £55M on players, we still made a tidy transfer profit last season last season of £32M.

Well after the last nil return message I went in and removed the "Further Details" that were the African Nationalities. Then I get this. The Recruitment Focus still hasn't found anyone, (or any near misses), but they are suggesting relaxing the criteria a little, but seem to be more stringent on the age, but they already have 2 results in progress. They have kept with any position, (still kept to Spain because we can only scout in Spain), reduced the ages to 15-22, have increased the CA to 2.5, (I like it), and then reduced the PA to 3.5. 1 more thing they've done is they have added 1 Further Detail so let me see what that says...... A High statistical performance in..... and then it's either blank or invisible. I'm not completely sure what's going on here, (but I obviously like it), and these are the 2 player on which reports are in progress. Sonic Youth
I think the opening third of the season has gone well, in the European spots, very nice GA, and only a few goals more (Crespo type forward) from being further up the table. Would have loved to have seen him play his career in Cueta I've found it quite hard to get going again this season, (after about a real time month away from the save). As a result I've made a few mistakes and in particular I've left the senior squad with 3 central midfielders rather than 4, but worse than that I made a complete shambles of the B Team registration, (which obviously provides depth to the 1st Team when 1st choice players are unavailable). The problem was that when I went to register the squad based on the squad I had picked during the squad depth posts, we were enormously over the maximum squad salary, (by about 300%), and in the end I just got the Ass Man to auto-select the squad, (which was a complete disaster because it meant that there were players who I hadn't loaned out because they were going to play in the B Team, and because of that the 1st team on occasion, but because they weren't registered for the B Team, they also aren't available for the 1st Team either). Absolute nightmare. In the end the Ass Man only managed to register 10 outfield players out of a possible 23. I'm really going to have to look at this again at the end of this season. It's too important to get wrong like this. To make it even worse, I also can't loan them out until January. Tavares (POR)(GNB) * is looking decent. Largely used from the bench so far, but he's doing ok. Kitoko (BEL)(COD) * was signed largely because of his PA and I don't remember giving too much thought to where he will be playing. I think I see him as a wide striker who can cover WB when I need an extra attacking option, but I don't see him as a WB against decent opposition. Nothing significant either way with regards to board/supporter opinion on Kitoko. It's early days yet. (27a) Crespo * is just a serial winner. He wins wherever he goes. 2028. Spain U19's. Vakama2619
Are you managing the B-Team as well?
Jimbokav1971
6 hours ago, Vakama2619 said: Are you managing the B-Team as well? Yes I am, butu it's been a relatively recent introduction to the save. We didn't start off with a B Team and it didn't happen until 2039/40. In 2039/40 won the Segunda Federación Grupo IV at the 1st attempt. In 2040/41 then won the Primera Federación Grupo I at the 1st attempt. This season it appears as if we will avoid relegation from the LaLiga SmartBank by the skin of our teeth, and only after taking 23 points from a possible 30 since I started playing again. In previous seasons I have selected the team and the idea was to use the B Team as a springboard to propel youngsters onto the next level, but this season I have just been getting the Ass Man to pick the team because there were problems with the registration of the B Team squad I wanted to register when it became clear that for the 1st time they weren't just a little over budget but were enormously over budget. As a result I completely lost interest with the B Team and let the Ass Man do everything. To put things into perspective, I was only able to register 1x GK and 5x outfield players from 25 possible slots this season without exceeding the £283,000 max squad salary. It hadn't been an issue in the 1st 2 seasons but was obviously a huge issue this season and I just couldn't be bothered. I think that was 1 of a few things that made me lose interest a little last month.
Jimbokav1971
Records & Awards. May 2042. A product of our Academy won the the Spanish League Player of the Year and our players came 2nd and 3rd. (27a) Crespo * is just a machine and Liverpool must be kicking themselves that they couldn't squeeze him into their starting XI back in the day. It seems wrong that he doesn't feature more regularly for Spain. (37a) Niño * has had 3 different loan spells to boost his development and this is just his 2nd full season with our 1st Team. He's now 1st choice on the left of a 3 up front and has finished the season with 19 goals and 12 assists from 32(11) appearances. He's still showing as 5.0 PA so I have high hopes for him. Guèhi (CIV) * was a player that I spotted in my brief stint at (CIV) U18's manager. He was only 15/16 at the time but I was keen to sign him immediately. Unfortunately Rennes gazumped us as I was preparing the deal and we had to spend £65M 3 years later to get our man. It seems like a lot of money but we had money to burn at the time so..... He plays on the right of a 3 up front and has been a 1st choice for 2 seasons now. He contributed 13 goals and 13 assists in all competitions from 34(12) appearances. I'm obviously a little peeved that he appears to be maxed out on his PA, but that's just the way it goes sometimes. I still love him as a player and obviously in a save like this where we're restricted to Academy products and Africans, we occasionally have to set our sights a little lower. (27a) Crespo * won the La Liga Golden Boot for 5 out of the last 6 season, scoring 202 La Liga goals over these 6 seasons alone. (27a) Crespo * has won the La Liga top Spanish goal-scorer for the 7th season in 8, scoring 258 La Liga goals in the process. To put some context on those numbers he has made 292(11) appearances in La Liga since signing for Sevilla and has scored 271 La Liga goals during that time. Ridiculous! Camara (SEN) 6'2" came 3rd in the La Liga GK of the Year award. It's an area that we have struggled in before his arrival and although he "only" managed 15 clean sheets in the league, he actually kept 19 clean sheets for us in total. I was so keen to sign him that I agreed to pay Bordeaux £80M to get him. When you can only sign Africans, you are forced to pay a premium when you find someone you really want. I was the Runner Up in the La Liga Manager of the Year award. To be completely fair here, if I had (27a) Crespo * we would have won the league and I would have won this, (but I'm not butter at all)...... 2 of our players were selected in the La Liga Team of the season + 3 more on the substitutes bench. Madidilani (RSA) has been such a good signing for us. I signed loads of South Africans in the early days, but many of them seemed to have a lower PA ceiling than was suggested. (37a) Niño * you have already seen. (33b) Marcos * is another product of our Academy, but to be honest he is still just a little short of what I was hoping for. He's 1st choice centrally in a 3 up front. The problem is that it's obviously really hard to go out and get an upgrade when you can only sign Africans and you need 6 strikers minimum to cover rotation across 3 positions up front. Idris (GER)(NGA) 6'5" is German, but has an African 2nd Nationality. What a bargain he has been. Guèhi (CIV) * you have already seen. Jimbokav1971
Supporter Profile. May 2042. There is so much info on this page that it's easy to miss something. I don't think I have ever noticed the "Season Ticket waiting list" section before. We only have just under 14,000 season tickets sold for this season, but there is a waiting list of 30,000 more, (so that means we could sell 43,934 season tickets. The problem is that we only have a capacity of 29,825 and at this stage, (especially after having been away from the save for a month), I don't know whether it's better to upgrade the existing stadium or try and get a new one built. The stadium was built in 2032 and I think you have to wait 15 years before having another one built, (not positive about that but I think so), so that means we would be able to build a new stadium in 2047 and it's May 2042 now. Although we have £141M in the bank, (and a transfer budget of £39M), we also owe...... oh, we don't actually owe anything. I was expecting there to be a sizeable loan there for the building of the last stadium, but maybe we have paid it off already. It's probably more likely that the debt was paid off one of the times we had a change of board and either I didn't notice at the time or did notice back then but just can't remember now. You know what, I was thinking initially that we wouldn't expand the stadium now and instead just wait until we could build a new one because it would be more cost effective, but actually we have loads of money and I'm planning on going through the players in some detail during this close season so we should be able to generate some more funds via player sales. With that in mind I think I'm going to try for a stadium upgrade and see what happens. Ok, so it would seem that we can't expand the existing stadium, but we can build a new one. (Actually it doesn't say that we can build a new one. It says that we can ask to build a new one). First of all let's just see if we have the ability to expand the existing stadium. Well that clears that up. The site the current stadium is on can't be expanded further and I can't remember if we've already expanded it or if that's how big it was when we built it. It would seem that we have expanded this stadium twice and I just can't remember.
Jimbokav1971
Squad Depth. Jun 2042. GK. Jimbokav1971
African XI of the year. May 2042. Camara (SEN) 6'2" & Guèhi (CIV) * have been selected in the African XI of the year. Osok (CMR)(BRA)(KEN) * is 32. Monteiro (CPV)(POR) is only 23, but as he has only just joined Bayer, we might have missed the boat on him. Ogunsanya (NGA)(IRL)(ENG) is 23 and a player I really like. Positioning is a little low, but I still like him. Mo Osman (EGY)(ENG) * is only 25 and has been on my radfar for years, but he's earning £547k per month at Spurs and there is no way we can compete with that. Mkhathini (RSA) is 35 so no point even looking at him. Ouchouia (MAR)(FRA) is only 24, but is earning £412,000 per month at Liverpool so we need to move on. Kouadio (CIV) is only 21, but his name might be familiar. We bought him for £235,000 and then sold him for £20M. He's now getting paid £483,000 per month at PSG. Njoku (NGA)(POR) * is 32. Laouar (ALG)(FRA)(SCO) is the African Mo Johnson. In his came he came through the Rangers Academy and then joined Celtic for £16.25M. Come on. There is just no way this happens in real life. Strangely he doesn't appear anywhere on the disliked list for Rangers.
Jimbokav1971
2042 World Cup. I'm expecting Spain, (the holders), to do quite well in this World Cup, held in Germany. There are 2x GK's and 2x SC's in the Spain squad who are products of our Academy and I think you would agree they're pretty decent. We've had 14 players called up for the World Cup, but unfortunately they are all African, none of them are Spanish and none of them are products of our Academy.
