We are in for a challenge Transfers We had sold couple of B teamers, but they are not showing up in here Key Ins Young Serbian picked up relatively cheap. The attack is in turmoil, but my defence had no changes from last year. I am looking for some reinforcements in the loan market (currently struggling to fill the 2 additional spots in the subs bench). Scouts were raving about him and had a small release clause which we triggered (downside is the largish wages we had to offer). He has got awesome finishing stats, but need to work on the rest. A sending off immediately after halftime cost us dearly in first match. That was followed by early penalties conceded in next two. The mood was lifted by a thoroughly undeserved win at Heidenheim. The 6 points at the end keeps us well away from the drop zone. A special call out to Bornemann who was red hot. Worrying aspect is that we have big interest in Manquant with half the Bundesliga and Southampton and Wolves sniffing around (and he has a 5.5 million release clause) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

A horror show of a month was made much better as I was able to find a loan in replacement for CB position. The Slovenia international was listed by request and I sent in a loan request on deadline day. His contract is ending at the end of the season. Extremely happy with how the team performed. Couple of youth players made the first team. Cenk has been making good progress, although his finishing stat diminished slightly. He took his chances in the friendlies and would be getting a run in with the first team Albi was part of the 22/23 youth intake. Not the highest rate one by any chance, but he has progressed nicely and I have decided to not g renew the loan signings from last year to give this lad a run in. Transfer update No outgoings yet, but few teams are sniffing around my midfielders. Zan and Denis was at the club last year on loan. I picked them up for free when their contract ran out at the parent club. Martin came from the Danish league and would be a rotation option at DL The Croatia international was picked up from Salzburg when his contract expired. Would be taking up a starting role Marco was released at SPAL and my scouts were raving about him. Had to offer him the highest wages in my team to convince him to join. Sepp became my highest earning defender when he moved from Liverpool at end of contract (and he has massive promotion bonus and a sell on fee tied into the contract too). I wanted to bring him in loan last year, but he chose to remain at Liverpool reserves. We were lucky that the scoreline was not worse Also made an addition to the squad by paying some real cash for a youngster from Exeter. We had been tracking him for couple of years and his contract was running out his year. I was waiting till Jan to bring him over in a bosman, but some League one and Championship teams moved in and I was forced to make a cash offer . I offered him out and after a bit of haggling, moved him on for a tidy sum (mostly split across 3 years). He has bee struggling in Second Division, so no regrets. The team played with more freedom and that result seemed to have a galvanizing effect. The league scoring duck was broken in 93rd min of our 3rd league game. Two narrow wins and a heartbreaking loss at Werder where the winner came in the 94th min. A stuttering start to the season. He was a very consistent performer who had matched his 3rd division performance in the second division too Players in Beat out a host of second division teams to my primary target to replace Diambo. The Mainz youth prospect has really good stats and have some Bundesliga experience to boot. Then we broke our transfer record with a 800k transfer for the young Turk from the Serbian top division. He was a player we had tracked for couple of seasons, but he was not interested till now. His name came up in the deadline day scrolls and I moved in quickly. Our scouts reckon that he would become a leading Bundesliga player. Have inserted a 26 million higher division clause in his contract. The loss at Nurnberg hurt as they are one of the host of teams fighting for the promotion slots. Basaric have been unbelievable upfront, not just with the amount of goals, but the quality of the strikes as well. We were sitting pretty in 2nd spot when we ran into Hamburg and fell 3-0 down within 30 mins. I was chasing Delap as my primary target as his contract was expiring. He wanted 18k per week. I offered my max (13k) and included a sell on fee as well as highest earner clause and they accepted.
