Feb & Mar '28

The fixture pile up had major implications as we had big injuries heading into March. We successfully navigated a tricky match up against Milan in UCL and had a good home leg against Chelsea in round of 16. However the injury to our star player affected us badly and we put up no resistance in the away leg. Milan took revenge for the UCL defeat by comprehensively outplaying us in the Copa. Was very relieved to break the losing streak at Turin. Injuries and suspensions meant that I was only able name 4 subs in that match. April is jam packed, but we have some easy opponents in there.

Three of my favorite players in the save so far. My scouts now rate Allan the best. He is coming on nicely at Dortmund. Manquant stagnated at Bayer & Feyenoord, but is doing well at Ascoli and is getting interest from Spurs. And the best striker I had at Germany is doing really well in EPL.

Somehow survived the month from hell. Had a long list of injuries and 8 fixtures in April. Never had this bad a fixture congestion (that too with only league matches) as far as I can remember in any version of FM. Struggled early on and my key players went through a difficult time after returning from injuries, but they made up for that in a dominant performance against Roma. The performance against our fierce rivals (Competitive) could be a season defining one. Its really tight fight for European slots and at the foot of the table. Milan have probably done enough to take the title. Got a tricky run in though with both Milan and Juve waiting in May.

All his appearance was before I joined in and it showed the squad planning by the previous regime. They had sold off Alex Meret and Yann Sommer to be left with this 17 year old and Lucas Canizares, who is Serie B quality at best. An award for 7 appearances with 5,97 rating:rolleyes:

What an end to the season. We came from behind in all 3 matches of the month to seal our spot in the UCL. We had some leeway as it turned out as Roma had a shock end to the season. The way I had leveraged transfer fee over 3 years have had an impact with a modest budget for next year. And big surprise was 3 time defending champs Juve missing out on Europe

Half tempted to apply. Juve used to be my favorite club when I started out playing the series with CM2Ita. They had a fantastic front two of Del Piero and Ravanelli and I always tried to quickly pick up Ronaldo (the original) from PSV and form an unbeatable front 3 :D

Old Club Watch

Kjaer had done a fantastic job including a win against Bayern. He seems to get Rafa firing too.  He led Bayreuth to a fantastic 8th in the table. That's unbelievable achievement for the club.

Newcastle had robbed them of Arndt. He was a youth prospect who looked very good and was highly rated by my Assman while I was there.

An unplanned sale, Liverpool came in with a low ball bid of 35mil and I rejected. The player got agitated and put in a transfer request. They came in with a much better offer and I negotiated a huge fee for a first team regular. I would have preferred to keep him, but I am not keeping unhappy people around in the squad. Updating before the regular season transfer update as I think this will not come up in there as the transfer got completed before new season starting.

Pre Season & Transfer update

Team has played well during our pre season. I have tried to make key additions rather than a major overhaul this season. But some players have forced my hand by asking for new challenge/wanting to move to bigger club.

Kim was the second reluctant sale. AC Milan came in with a bid which I rejected and he had a hissy fit. I offered him out and PSG came in with a reasonable offer. He was the mainstay of my defence last year and his history showy how solid he was over the years.

The headline signing of the window. He is aging and cost a pretty amount and is on high wages, but is quality through and through. With the experience i was losing at the heart of the midfield, I needed a strong experienced head to come in and mentor the youngsters. He was on the last year of his contract and Liverpool had 5 world class players in his position. I seriously wonder why they had moved for Ilic. I am not complaining as I got a genuine world class homegrown talent

*By the way I just noticed that we can name 15 subs in Serie A. The player selection screen only shows 12 subs, but the game allows 3 additional players on the match day squad. 3d90c1982f84c5f3d72eff6668d97693.png

Aug '28 & Transfer update

A good start to the campaign but I am really unhappy with the draw against Atalanta. We had a goal lead and was a man up when we went into the break. They scored a goal with man down and we had 2 goals disallowed to cap a bad outing.

Perfect form and my squad players are performing well when rotating, and that was the key as fixtures are coming in thick and fast. The win at Bayern was the most impressive, but it came at a cost as my DM anchor is out for a while.  Jason van Duiven was asking to go out on a loan at the beginning of the month, but he is happy after 4 starts and 6 goals. He is staking a claim to dislodge Osimhen.

Meanwhile in Germany

My successor is doing an unbelievable job. The team struggled badly at the end of my reign at this level and I am baffled at their performance this season.

Nov & Dec '28

Our 18 match unbeaten run came to an end at Genoa, who are turning to be my bogey team. 2nd loss came up in Dec against Juve where we had a very poor start and went 0-3 down in 30 mins, when I hauled off our starting GK. He was benched for next game against Inter, where Osimhen came to our rescue, but was then injured and ruled out for couple of months.

Started the new year off pretty badly and then Raspadori stepped up to the plate. Genoa inflicted 3rd consecutive defeat on us (looks like my first bogey team for me in this save).

Eased into round of 16 in UCL, where Bayern Munich & Chelsea were the biggest losers.

Giacomo had a 23.5 million UCL team clause and Bayern triggered it. I too went in and triggered the clause, but included a loan back till end of season at 100% wages. He could be a reasonable rotation option who will be replacing Zielinski whose expiring contract I wouldn't be renewing. He has been a stalwart at the club, but my team has advised against offering a new contract to him as he is past his best and I agree with the assessment.

Another outgoing agreed was for Di Lorenzo. He is another long serving player who is reaching the end of contract. He can still do a very good job at this level, but Inter was willing to agree for a paid transfer at end of season and his contract was ending at that point

In most seasons, this would have been championship form, but Juve is playing at a different level this season (and do not have European football distraction). We have pretty much guaranteed UCL qualification, but would need a major screw up from Juve to mount a title challenge. Next up in UCL is Leipzig.

A disappointing end to the title challenge as we were ripped apart by Inter right after poor draws against Milan and Torino. Juve tried their best to keep it interesting, but the title was decided with one round to go. Still it was a memorable campaign with a big final yet to come.

UCL Final

What a match. First we went behind to a goal from my ex CB, then they fought back to draw level after we almost took control of the game. Then Mosquera was given a straight red and a final twist, Raspadori, who was having a bad day till then, scored our winner. I switched into ultra defensive mentality after the goal and we hung on bravely to shut down PSG's world class attackers
