Pre-game: Morecambe (away) - League One (8)

For the second consecutive game, we play a side who know that a win will see them leap-frog us. We saw how that inspired Plymouth Argyle last weekend and Morecambe will be cheered on by their home supporters.

I went to the Mazuma Stadium this week and Morecambe were very impressive as they defeated MK Dons 3-0. The Shrimpers looked a bit edgy and nervous for the opening 20 minutes, but once they got their noses in front, Morecambe never looked back.

They played a 5-2-1-2 DM AM system. Liam Shaw scored a powerful header from a Caleb Watts corner. Their captain, Donald Love, was lively down the right-wing and set-up their second goal, a tap-in for Ashley Hunter, and put the cross in from which they won the penalty for their third goal. Morecambe also have former Rams Academy graduate Farrend Rawson playing for them

Good news and bad news I'm afraid.

Where should I start? Good news or bad?

OK, finish on a positive, so bad news... Jake Rooney sprained ankle ligaments in training.

Good news, Richard Stearman is back in training and our medical team advise Stears could probably give us 45 minutes if we need him.

We are delighted to welcome Will Osula back from international duty where he made two substitute appearances for Denmark U21s.

We're also short of centre-backs at the moment so we've assigned squad numbers to Leigh Kavanagh (#46) and Harrison Solomon (#47) and they've both been training with the first-team. Harrison is currently the subject of a loan bid from St. Albans City in the Vanarama National League South, which we're kind of dragging our heels over as we decide whether we can let him go out on loan (the experience would definitely aid his development) or whether we need to keep him around due to our injury crisis in central defence.

Morecambe 1-1 Derby County - League One (8)

08_morecambe_a_teamsheet.png.9d3f3be0616d93494b5ae9e566cb4ff9.png

08_morecambe_a_report.png.9fc58ab58171374dc1b7d06bce0da695.png

Another game we felt we did more than enough to win, arguably deserved to win, but only drew because we couldn't find a second goal and then conceded an equaliser against the run of play.

I can't fault the players though because, on this occasion, we found a goalkeeper in Connor Ripley who was inspired.

We started well. 3 minutes, after brilliant pressing work by David McGoldrick to win the ball back, Lewis Dobbin went on a mazy run into the penalty area, only to be denied by a brilliant save by Ripley in Morecambe's goal.

6 minutes, Conor Hourihane's stunning free-kick looked destined for the top corner until Ripley's fingertips miraculously kept it out.

12 minutes, Eiran Cashin wins his header after a long kick from Morecambe's goalkeeper, Hourihane picks up the ball and plays it forward, splitting the Shrimpers defence. James Collins runs onto it and calmly slots it past Ripley (1-0).

26 minutes, Ripley made a superb double-save from Lewis Dobbin.

27 minutes, after great work by Cash and Dobbs, Max Bird shot narrowly over from 30 yards.

40 minutes, Haydon Roberts threaded a pass to put Collo clean through again, only for Ripley to produce another sensational save to deny him. From the resulting corner, Collo's header was comfortably saved.

56 minutes, after a good passing move involving Cash, James Chester, Haydon and Conor, Collo shot wide from the edge of the penalty area.

61 minutes, Tom Barkhuizen's cross was headed clear, Conor played the ball back into the box, Dobbs turned and shot high over the bar.

69 minutes, Haydon crossed from the left and Collo looped a header onto the roof of the net.

On 71 minutes, came the sucker-punch, totally against the run of play, when Weir scored with a direct free-kick. (1-1).

77 minutes, we made a couple of changes, pushed Didzy further forward alongside Collo, and went Attacking.

78 minutes, Barks plays Collo in and he side-footed his shot wide.

86 minutes, two substitutes Louie Sibley and Liam Thompson combined, Thommo's first shot was blocked, his follow up saved by Ripley.

89 minutes, we sent Will Osula on for Barks and changed our shape to 433 AM Narrow, still Attacking.

91 minutes, Thommo sends Collo away, and Collo watched his shot beat Ripley and bounce back off the far post straight into Ripley's arms.

The second, winning goal just wouldn't come. We were close, very close, but not close enough.

At least we are creating the chances... if we weren't creating chances, I'd be more worried, but we have to find a way to get a second goal when we have our noses in front.

Pre-game: Lincoln City (away) - League One (9)

09_lincoln_a_preview.png.30bb12c49c0bea3882623c72fcd34505.png

We visit Lincoln City on the back of a five game unbeaten league run but we've only won two of those, drawing the other three.

Lincoln are five points behind us in the League Table but, with home advantage, and their fans behind them, they'll be looking to close that gap.

Team News

We've been playing well, creating plenty of chances, but our problem has been adding to a one-goal lead as we've struggled to get a two-goal advantage. We'll probably look to change a couple of things to help with that.

The U21s played yesterday and are tired so we're limited as to what we can do to freshen things up.

Lincoln City 4-0 Derby County - League One (9)

09_lincoln_a_teamsheet.png.36e09b73ccbf7ace61f4d09cd383afcb.png09_lincoln_a_report.png.22b5336df06089653c50d68681009c29.png

Disappointingly we just never got going today. We started with a Balanced mentality, thinking it might help us be that bit more solid at the back, and we just couldn't get out of our own half, whilst Joe Wildsmith had to make three or four fine saves to keep us level at 0-0.

On 14 minutes, Diamond's corner was cleared back to him, he crossed again and Garrick headed home at the far post (0-1).

We changed from Balanced to Positive as we weren't doing anything.

28 minutes, Jason Knight dwelt on the ball too long, Diamond dispossessed him, ran into the penalty area, and shot past Joe Wildsmith (0-2).

40 minutes, a great run by Knighty down the right, his cross was headed goalwards by James Collins, but Rushworth saved easily.

After the break, we pushed David McGoldrick further forward alongside Collo.

63 minutes, Joe came for Diamond's cross, but only knocked the ball into Davenport's path and he rolled the ball into an empty net (0-3).

65 minutes, Lincoln hit us on the counter-attack, Garrick found House who scored (0-4).

09_lincoln_a_sibley-inj.png.09fb9ad1269bed5de27e97494088c862.png

On 73 minutes, Louie Sibley went off injured... and it sounds like he'll be out a while with a pulled calf muscle.

90 minutes, Liam Thompson crossed from the left and Didzy's header smacked the bar.

I take the blame. The responsibility rests with me, although we did shoot ourselves in the foot, twice, by gifting them two goals..

I know this'll sound like excuses but I think today was just one game too far. We've been playing two games a week, most weeks, all season with a very small squad and an ever growing injury list, an injury list that grew longer today. And we just haven't got the numbers to rest players and freshen up the legs. Today, I think it all caught up with us.

I'm just being honest. I know it's not what the fans will want to hear, but it is what it is.

Of course, it's my job, and the job of my backroom staff, to  get the best out of this squad of players. Today, we couldn't do that... but we will regroup and go again on Saturday at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

Pre-game: Wycombe Wanderers (Home) - League One (10)

10_Wycombe_H_lgTab.png.a5f204aba8c247b1a04d441f0cb00507.png

We need to get our league campaign back on track - particularly after our poor showing against Lincoln City in midweek - and a home game against Wycombe Wanderers gives us a great opportunity to do that.

Although we're 13th, the League Table is incredibly close and a win would see us go above Wycombe who currently sit in 6th place, two points ahead of us.

I understand there's been some bad relations between the two clubs in recent seasons, between Wycombe's owner and our previous owner, but that is all in the past and, I'm sure, will have no bearing on this match or its outcome.

Injuries

10_Wycombe_H_injury1.thumb.png.b4eafe06a38458f409e0af4fde21c0e5.png

The bad news continues as Louie Sibley pulled a calf muscle against Lincoln City and Will Osula strained his neck in training.

10_Wycombe_H_injury2.png.6c3663ab9e21261305dad65f9120a82f.png

Team News

All in all we have six players ruled out with injury and it's unlikely we'll risk Richard Stearman who's still recovering from a sports hernia.

We're also a striker down as we agreed to loan Bartosz Cybulski to St Albans City before Will Osula strained his neck.

So we're down to the bare bones again but will look to put together the strongest team and matchday 18 that we can.

10_Wycombe_H_schedule.png.826001d22828c04fe8d491a09161a105.png

After the Wycombe game, we have our next Papa Johns Trophy Group game on Tuesday, but then we have a break of 10 days before our next game due to the postponement of the Cheltenham Town game.

Hopefully that will give us time to get some of the walking wounded back.

And who knows, we may even have some new faces in the squad by then as we're currently in talks with a few free agents.

Derby County 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers - League One (10)

10_Wycombe_H_teamsheet.png.a90eec89a3c06e82f742559791eef0ba.png

10_Wycombe_H_report.png.dfc1ecf379174a9adfb1a134304008f3.png

Boy did we need a win... and I'm delighted that we were able to beat Wycombe Wanderers in front of our brilliant fans inside Pride Park.

It was a tight, tense game. To be honest, I thought we were comfortable throughout, and Wycombe Wanderers didn't really trouble Joe Wildsmith in our goal but, because we didn't score the only goal until late on, you just never know.

I thought the players were terrific today. They defended well. They created a number of chances. And they were patient, trusting that if they did the right things, and continued to do the right things, the result would come. And, fortunately, it did.

In the first-half, David McGoldrick, James Collins, Conor Hourihane from a free-kick, Lewis Dobbin, and Tom Barkhuizen all had chances to score.

Wycombe didn't create much at all and their goalkeeper, Stryjek, had to produce two great saves from Collo to keep the score goalless.

After the break there were very few chances, at either end, and that's why I'm so proud of the players for remaining patient, trusting their instincts, and not panicking or rushing as time ticked away.

Didzy had a good opportunity but Stryjek closed him down and bravely dived at his feet to block his shot.

And then, 79 minutes, we got our reward for being patient and keeping plugging away. James Chester played the ball out wide, Barks ran down the right wing, struck a low cross into the six yard box, and James Collins right place, right time, turned the ball home.

On 87 minutes we made some substitutions to bring on fresh legs and went Very Defensive.

We kept Wycombe at arms length and nearly grabbed a second goal on 90+4 minutes, when Joe Haigh crossed from the left and George Nunn headed wide.

It's not very often we get to play a Premier League U21 team so this is going to be a very interesting cup game.

As we both won our first Group Game - Manchester City U21s beating Grimsby Town 2-0, and us winning 2-1 against Mansfield Town - it means whoever comes out on top will be as good as guaranteed qualification from the Group.

It's a game Kwaku Oduroh is really looking forward to as he joined us from Manchester City U21s in the summer.

Derby County 2-2 Mabchester City U21s - Papa Johns Trophy Nortg Group F (2)

Derby County win 9-8 on penalties

PJT_Grp2_ManCityU21_H_report.png.864bf02e761779f302ad3b055cc9b66c.png

That was an amazing game and I'm so proud of the players.

To be 0-0 at half-time, to go 0-2 down just three minutes after the restart, you could forgive them for feeling sorry for themselves, but there was none of that, heads didn't drop, they fought back to 2-2, finished the stronger, could have won it. And then did win it in the penalty shootout.

And what a shootout! We went first and scored nine out of nine penalties, Man City U21s scored eight out of eight before Joseph Anang made the crucial save to win it for us.

The first-half was the opposite of a thriller, both teams cancelled each other out, and neither goalkeeper had anything to do.

Man City U21s came out for the second-half like a freight train. Hamilton made it 0-1, then Charles made it 0-2.

We made some substitutions to put a bit more experience on the pitch and we began to wrestle control of the game away from Man City U21s.

62 minutes Korey Smith passed out wide, Lewis Dobbin hit a low cross from the right, Collins scored with a clever shot (1-2).

68 minutes and Dobbs and Collo combined again for our equaliser (2-2).

82 minutes, Collo heads Joe Haigh's free-kick onto the roof of the net.

83 minutes, Haigh's cross, Dobbs heads wide at the far post.

90 minutes, Haigh's low cross, Osazee Aghatise shoots straight at the goalkeeper.

And then there was that incredible amazing penalty shootout. 17 consecutive penalty goals and then Joseph saves Galvez's penalty and we've won.

It was a very special evening for our young players.

The only downside was losing Kwaku Oduroh to a shin injury, but he'll only be out for a few days.

We now have 10 days until our next match, away at Cambridge United in the league, so we'll give the players a few well-deserved days off and then we'll go again.

It was a sad day for all of us when Craig Forsyth announced his retirement from playing. When he first did his ACL, for a mad fourth time, I tried to talk him into reconsidering. Craig's now had a few weeks to think about it, discuss it with his family and medical professionals, and I respect his decision.

Team News

With Fozzy retiring, we only have Curtis Davies on the long-term injury list as a number of players have regained their match fitness during our break from competitive action.

We still have three who aren't ready to play a full 90 minutes yet.

We were thrilled to welcome four new faces to the club but we won't be able to register them to play until the next registration window. So, for now, they will train with the first team and be available for the U21s.

[Note: I assume the next registration window will be January to align with the next transfer window].

Frustratingly, annoyingly, our games are starting to follow a familiar pattern. We score first, we create further chances but cannot find a second goal, then we concede an equaliser against the run of play.

And it happened again against Cambridge United.

We have to find away to break that pattern.

We took the lead on 21 minutes, Cambridge cleared the ball long, James Chester won the header on the halfway line, Conor Huorihane played the ball out wide, Tom Barkhuizen crossed low from the right, and James Collins opened the scoring with a well-timed first time shot (1-0).

57 minutes, Ironside was played through, he ran between Chezzy and Eiran Cashin, and he slotted the ball past Joe Wildsmith (1-1).

66 minutes, Conor's free-kick and Barks's header grazed the top of the bar.

85 minutes, Lewis Dobbin curls a shot wide.

Of course, it's not helpful for a former Rams player to be criticising us in public but Paulo Wanchope is entitled to his opinion.

He is right though, we do need to start turning these draws into wins or we will lose touch with the teams in and around the playoffs.

Already we are four points behind the final playoff spot so it's important we start winning again, and winning soon.

Our home game against second-bottom Cheltenham Town is a good opportunity for us to get a win but we will need to improve on our recent performances in front of goal.

We started slowly, looked nervous and edgy, and Joe Wildsmith made a couple of fine saves, but then we eased into the game and took control.

We took the lead on 34 minutes, David McGoldrick won the ball in midfield, Conor Hourihane's pass found Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who ran into the penalty area, looked to cross low for James Collins, but Taylor's attempted incerception sent the ball past his own goalkeeper (1-0).

On the stroke of half-time we were so close to doubling our lead but, Southwood, in Cheltenham's goal, made an incredible double save to first deny Nathaniel and then Tom Barkhuizen.

In the second-half we continued to control the game. Jason Knight hit the post and on 60 minutes, Max Bird threaded a pass through to Collo, who chipped Southwood as the goalkeeper dived at his feet, but the ball bounced back off the crossbar.

85 minutes and we got caught on the counter-attack and Olayinka equalised (1-1).

We went more Attacking and changed to a 3-2-5 Wide.

And then Louie Sibley had to go off with a twisted ankle leaving us with 10-men as we'd made all our substitutions.

12_Cheltenham_H_sibley_injured.png.84e5cfc9896ea5dc0c9f15e0ee4a57d5.png

Conor Hourihane gave the ball away on 96 minutes and that cost us as Brown put Cheltenham ahead (1-2).

We had to chase the game then and left ourselves short at the back when Sercombe added a third for Cheltenham (1-3).

I'm not daft, I know that this is a results business, and a lot of eyes will be staring at us now.

All we can do is work hard on the training ground at Moor Farm and do our best to turn our fortunes around.

Pre-game: Port Vale (Home) - League One (13)

13_Port-Vale_H_preview-stimac.png.3caaaf53ac31c8046e219957da4ea9dd.png

We didn't take advantage of our game-in-hand in midweek against Cheltenham Town (lost 1-3) and now there's a four point gap between ourselves and the playoffs.

The wins have dried up and that's something we need to put right.

Against Cheltenham we went with DLP-Su and a BBM instead of an AP-Su and BBM in an attempt to make us harder to breakdown and we'll probably change up those two midfield roles a little bit again.

We entertain Port Vale at Pride Park. We're four points and six places above them and we'll be doing everything we can to win this game.

Louie Sibley and Lewis Dobbin (both twisted ankles) will be big misses, as is the prolonged absence of our captain Curtis Davies.

We're still being advised that Jake Rooney isn't ready to play 90 minutes yet.

Derby County 2-0 Port Vale - League One (13)

13_Port-Vale_H_teamsheet.png.853485304bcd1dec1787cd2f7ec534df.png

13_Port-Vale_H_report.png.2866eeb3c6a74cf0f5173b61058a4537.png

The secret to not going too mad in this job is to not get too down when you lose and not to go too overboard when you win... but I'm delighted with the result today and can't stop smiling. We badly needed a win, and to beat Port Vale so comfortably, is very pleasing, very pleasing indeed.

We kept our 4-2-3-1 DM AM Wide Positive shape but we dropped the two central midfielders deeper and adjusted the playing roles of a number of players.

It worked as we restricted Port Vale to very few opportunities and Joe Wildsmith had very little to do in our goal.

13_Port-Vale_H_tactics.png.7f39bfa1716f0b46a2bb58009abc0ffd.png

We created a good number of chances ourselves and James CollinsDavid McGoldrickNathaniel Mendez-LaingTom Barkhuizen and Conor Hourihane were all unfortunate not to score. Eiran Cashin put a header, from a corner, into the side netting.

Patience, again, was the message we kept telling the players, keeping them calm, and our patience paid off on 63 minutes when Liam Thompson won the ball on the halfway line and played it forward to Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who passed it into David McGoldrick on the edge of the penalty area. Didzy laid the ball back to the edge of the D, where Conor Hourihane swept a curling shot into the bottom corner of the net (1-0).

We went Balanced then, something we'd been reluctant to do after taking the lead previously, and looked to manage out the game.

Five minutes later, for once, we were able to double our lead. Conor Hourihane's corner was cleared to the edge of the penalty area, Tom Barkhuizen headed it back in, and the smallest player on the pitch, Liam Thompson, headed the ball across goal, over the goalkeeper, and the ball nestled inside the side netting (2-0).

After that, the players were able able to see the game out for a much needed victory!

We were a little slow out of the blocks but, once we'd weathered an early Accrington storm, and settled into the game, I thought we were good value.

34 minutes - Procter tripped Nathaniel Mendez-Laing as he burst into the penalty area. Jensen dived the right way but James Collins buried his spot-kick in the bottom corner (1-0).

37 minutes - David McGoldrick and Tom Barkhuizen combined down the left, Didzy squared the ball and Collo smashed it home for his second goal (2-0).

We had a narrow escape on 56 minutes when McConville rattled our crossbar with a long-range shot.

65 minutes - Conor Hourihane curled a free-kick around the wall and into the net (3-0).

Our clean-sheet came under threat on 94 minutes as Whalley hit our post from close range.

It's great to have won back-to-back matches but James Chester hobbled off in the first-half with a potential knee injury that could keep him out for a few weeks.

We're delighted to have won the Group and qualified for the next stage. I thought everybody played well, the young U21s who came in and, although I don't like singling out individuals, I thought Liam Thompson was superb.

We switched George Nunn to AMC and Joe Haigh AML fairly early into the game and they both looked more comfortable after we made the change.

2 minutes - Haydon Roberts played the ball down the left flank, George Nunn crossed to the far post, where Nathaniel Mendez-Laing arrived to head us in front (1-0).

We had chances either side of the interval to add to our lead but Mansfield deserve credit for the way they defended and hung on in the game.

At the break, we brought Tom Barkhuizen on for Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, a substitution we'd decided on before the game.

Mansfield went for it in the last 20 minutes and Joseph Anang made some excellent saves to protect our narrow lead.

89 minutes - we made a few changes just to shore things up a bit.

Ipswich Town 1-2 Derby County - League One (15)

15_Ipswich_a_pre-press.png.d6868020fb384f58f0628a8b73f39e71.png

There's no doubting this is a big match. Ipswich Town are 2nd, eight points ahead of us.

Ipswich are favourites, rightly so with home advantage and the form they've shown this season, but they have lost their last two in League One - 0-1 to both Morecambe (a) and Lincoln (H) - so we go to Portman Road in confident mood after training well this week.

Make no bones about it, we want to win this game but, win, lose, or draw, the result won't define our season.

We are absolutely delighted to have taken three points away from Portman Road. Yes, the early sending-off, a well-deserved red card I might add, impacted the game in our favour... but I thought we deserved the win for the work-rate, commitment and effort we put in.

7 minutes - Morsy scissor-kicks Tom Barkhuizen from behind and deserved his red card. Fortunately, Tom wasn't injured but he could very easily have been.

10 minutes - James Collins crossed to the far post and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing headed over.

36 minutes - Nathaniel Mendez-Laing crossed into the penalty area only for Tom Barkhuizen to shoot straight at the goalkeeper.

51 minutes - Max Bird won the ball in midfield, played it out to Jason Knight, who released the ball down the right wing, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing drilled a low cross into the danger area and James Collins got ahead of his marker to sweep the ball past Walton in the Ipswich goal (1-0).

56 minutes - Conor Hourihane floated a free-kick to the far post where Edwards inexplicably raised an arm and handled the ball. Penalty!

James Collins sent Walton the wrong way to double our lead (2-0).

91 minutes - Davis pulled a goal back with a stunning free-kick that went in off the underside of the bar (2-1).

We changed to a Defensive mentality after that and looked to manage the game out, time wasting as much as possible.

92 minutes - we thought we'd restored our two-goal lead when Will Osula ran onto David McGoldrick's through ball and calmly finished... but an offside flag went up.

Ipswich, even with 10-men, really put us under pressure but we dealt with it well. The final whistle, I'll be honest, was a relief.

I hope all the Rams supporters enjoyed this away win as much as we did.

@Stuniversejust caught up with this save and it’s ever so nice to see your return, a decent start to life in league one not helped by big injuries. A few disappointing losses But you’ve managed to add some good options to the squad! Keep up the good work and try and turn some of those draws into wins

Thanks, @samboing. We will certainly try and keep the good run going.

Unfortunately, it looks like the four free agents won’t be available until January.

We're delighted to have kept our winning streak going, although Exeter made it very difficult for us today.

13 minutes - We had a narrow escape when Exeter City clipped the outside of the post.

29 minutes - Nathaniel Mendez-Laing burst down the right wing, crossed low into the six yard box, and David McGoldrick was there at the far post to give us the lead with the outside of his right foot (1-0).

42 minutes - A long clearance by Exeter's goalkeeper Blackman went over all our defenders, Jay out-ran them, and blasted a shot into the top corner (1-1).

54 minutes - Jason Knight took a throw-in and, as we were trying to work the ball into the penalty area from the right, James Collins went down under a showve in the back from Key. Penalty!

Collo sent Blackman the wrong way from the penalty spot (2-1).

56 minutes - We changed from a Positive mentality to Balanced.

87 minutes - We made a couple of substitutions and went with more of a defensive 4-3-3 3DM Wide system and we saw the game out for a narrow 2-1 victory and three more points.

Bristol Rovers made things very difficult for us today, but we showed tremendous character to win the game and keep our run going.

30 minutes - Conor Hourihane floated a free-kick deep into the penalty area, Coburn pushed James Chester in the back and the referee awarded a penalty!

James Collins put his spot-kick down the middle and scored (1-0).

33 minutes - We changed to a Balanced mentality (from Positive).

50 minutes - Aaron Collins produced a moment of magic, unfortunately for us, chesting down a long-ball from Coutts, to wrong foot Jason Knight, before hitting a piledriver of a shot past Joe Wildsmith (1-1).

51 minutes - We changed back to a Positive mentality.

77 minutes - A lovely passing move from the back, involving Eiran Cashin, Conor Hourihane, and David McGoldrick ended with Collo dribbling the ball into the penalty area and shooting past Belshaw (2-1).

After that, we managed the game out relatively easily.

It's good to be through and into the next round of the F.A. Cup.

We made a fair few changes but, I thought, we comfortably controlled the game against Accrington from first whistle to last.

53 minutes - Liam Thompson threaded the ball through to William Osula and he made no mistake smashing the ball past Accrington's goalkeeper Jensen (1-0).

70 minutes - Haydon Roberts and Lewis Dobbin combined down the left, David McGoldrick set-up William Osula who calmly slotted the ball underneath Jensen (2-0).

I don't want to be greedy but anybody at home at Pride Park would be a good draw for the second round.

A nice run of form at the moment, hope it keeps up in all competitions. League One wise just keep plugging away and if the teams above slip up you'll be right there. It seems your starting to shake off the injury bug, hope it stays away for the rest of the season.

Thanks, @JaytheGreat

Without wanting to tempt fate, the current tactics I'm using are serving me well.

You are right about injuries. With the current squad, it doesn't take many injuries before inexperienced youngsters are starting.
