We don't even have a 4* or better youngster. They're in such a bad spot, and we're in 19th with 18 games to go. Holy ****. We won our first game away at Aston Villa 2-1, with Gnonto's first goal in 18!!! hours. Dantas has been sold, he was a 5th or 6th midfield choice. 1m for this kid is an absolute steal. 24m is steep, but a regen fb that can attack!? We then beat Brentford 3-1 in our next match, with Barros making his debut. Mr. Soccer leaves for 16m, unfortunately he's not very good in this game. Huge signing. We've spent way too much money on him, but we needed a good LB. ALSO! Arsenal won the CL over Manchester City, so another club has been taken off the list. Reunited! I like the idea of the Nearly Men challenge, but I will probably do it on FM22. FM23 hasn't been very fun or rewarding so far, and so I'm going to sink my teeth back into a game I have far too much playtime on. So! nearly men part two. We'll start with A completely clean slate, all 20 clubs that were previously nearly men are at play. We will spin a wheel to see which club we will start with. Time for Josh Bright's redemption tour! Obviously Saint-Etienne comes with the great facilities, great kits, and young prospects, perfect for an FM save. Tactically, nothing groundbreaking, just a tactic that I have had working for me since the 22.4 ME came out. Turns out it took just a couple days off FM23 to regain motivation for the challenge of the nearly men. We're 1/20th of the way through, so let's get cracking. As a reminder here are the eligible clubs, squad at Leeds, and tactic we'll be using for the remainder of the time at Leeds. (Stole ideas from ManUtd1 and Guido, all the way back from the FM17 days.) One of 3 center back prospects coming in. 3.9m release clause. 9m for Ihor seems steep right now, but I'm sure he's going to be an incredible player. This save will be with FC Gute, because they wear orange, and had a clean slate in terms of history in FM. My very loose goals of this save: 1: Gain promotion from the 4th tier to the Allsvenskan 2: Upgrade our facilities to the max level 3: Become the Winningest team in Sweden (Allsvenskan, Swedish Cup, Super Cup) 4: Become the first Swedish side to win a European cup 5: Make Sweden a top 5 nation in coefficients Myself as the manager, starting with no badges or experience. The squad is pretty poor, even for this level. I do like Hagglund, Ogestad, and Holmstrom, but our defense is our strong suit. We also have decent training facilities for this level. The idea of the tactic is to free up space for our striker and inside forward by having a large overload on the left. And so far in the friendlies and in our first match, it's working. Ahl Holmstrom was insane, but he isn't good enough for the next level. Fudal Posted December 1, 2022 Author Share Posted December 1, 2022 A great start to life so far in the league, was expected after I made all the signings, but after preseason and the predictions came out (we were expected to be midtable) I was worried. Top, but Sandvikens and Sollentuna are coming. Our best players are: Ahl Holmstrom's replacement, who has been sent to the U19's after complaining. Our man in the middle. Our replacement for Elofsson who has complained and therefore been sent to the u19s. Our CB duo has been incredibly solid and Fio has gotten his first Thailand cap! Our new GK coach, who will hopefully have some staff PA. He doesn't look half bad for our level. Just hoping he hasn't already reached his PA. And their head coach.
