How we handled ourselves against the best team in the league.

So at the time we played them, Swindon was at the top spot of the league and for a newly promoted team we were coping with them quite well.

aaa.png.cb36626706c726d202851252f0c9c1df.png

We took the lead from the start with my best striker finishing a great pass over the defense from DMF. There were waves in terms of control but nothing too dramatic, my GK made some beautiful saves and he is probably the most improved player since i brought him in, he had 4 saves in the match but the only shot he conceded was the one that came from outside of the penalty area, somewhat bad reaction but i saw it coming, Swindon deserved a reward.

Jordan Rossiter with a MOTM performance for my team, besides another assist he made some important tackles and won possession at crucial times.

The day has come, the most important and biggest match of my managerial career for sure against the toughest opponent i have met so far. It is FA Cup, round of 16 and PL established side Wolverhampton Wonderers. It is expected that the stadium is going to be packed but it is clear who is the favorite, 7th placed team in the PL has so far beaten Barrow and Swindon while my mighty AFC Wimbledon side has passed four obstacles so far.

We wont look at this match like we have already out of the competition, this is not going to be our good bye from the FA Cup, we shall not be defeated, with a bit of luck, this match is ours.

One more time mighty AFC Wimbledon show the spirit, one more time AFC Wimbledon show that it can not be shooked with just one defeat, one more time mighty AFC Wimbledon beats a tittle contender and a top ranked team in the league. Huddersfield has fallen!

Gorgeous performance from young Derik Fisher who provided a goal and an assist, but cant forget once more my GK who is becoming one of the best players in the team, 4 saves in this match were enough for a shutout.

While my 20 year old DMF/CMF deserved a MOTM award with his two beautiful assists. Alfie Bendle, player who is with us from the beggining of his career.

So yeah, my captain definitely decided to retire, and he didnt even wanted to wait until the end of season, he retired with immediate effect!

retire.png.f07d7586439289de965dec80fad6d260.png

I asked him to reconsider his retirement...

But in a matter of hours, this is the response i got.

Another great season has come to a closer and it was a great one. Although all have expected us to fight to avoid relegation we have stayed up comfortably, not only that, there was a moment when we were in the play off spot. a.png.e89ebb42f7d03d0e82f122254ffeee45.png

Lets take a look at the season review.

aa.png.32d58ddd4b756245e4da44c9b514195b.png

Big jump in finances which was expected with the promotion and a huge raise in earnings from the competitions, we should thank the team for an awesome run in the FA Cup for that.

aaaa.png.4a3f2b4ea038897551f350847eea2dd3.png

And one more time, for the third season in a row Josh Davison has been voted as the best player of the season by the fans while Zach Robinson is again our best striker.

aaaaa.thumb.png.5939244ad5f738166a05702f4c18aad4.png

And some good news for the next season, the board has decided to splash cash on the expansion of the stadium, the stadium will be expanded by 1.500 seats which is pretty damn awesome if u ask me.

New season draws near and the pre season camp wich we spent in Belgium went well and most of my players are ready for new challenges. I have three injured players and two of them are midfielders, i will be ok until they recover, better now then at the end of the season.

Managed to snatch a couple of signing for almost free, another striker i managed to sign for free and a CD that was payed 3.000EUR which when u look at his attributes is really a bargain signing.

And this is another player that we are looking to sign and im currently trying to deal a price that will be good for both of the teams, once when that is done the contract will not be a problem. Finances are much better this season.

So although winning of the FA Cup is an unrealistic target right now i have decided to take a bit more serious approach to cup competitions and the one im interested in is EFL Trophy aka Papa John's Trophy. My first opponent is a well known team and i decide to play as most players from first XI is possible to not risk losing points in this encounter.

a.png.36c0dfb7eea2348a58fa9f121b733d14.png

It worked like a charm, well known strikers are still working together great and manage to take part in all three goals we scored against Bristol Rovers, great start of the competition sets us at the top of the group.

What happened in the EFL League one is that after a victory against Plymouth with two goals scored by Zach Robinson (my best scorer in last two season) we are sitting pretty at the top of the league One. It feels nice, even if it is just for a couple of hours.

What a match! I was playing against Millwall, newly relegated team which is amongst one of the favorites to clinch promotion this season and they were the favorits on paper so i was expecting a tough match and i was ready for a loss but man, this team, this AFC Wimbledon  team once more proves that we can handle best in the league. I had some sitters that were missed and i was punished for it by conceding a goal in 60th minute, deserved it. So i thought lets just score and be happy with one point so we did exactly that, it was 1:1, time was running out and i was quite happy with a draw against the wolves.

1100114476_Screenshot2022-12-20085636.png.1ef1ced0b465ebbca482ab94332258a4.png

But David Fisher said NO! Last minute of added time just started running out and Luke Matheson, my RB received the ball from the GK and ran over the whole pitch before he crossed a beauty which had Fisher in front of the goal placing a beautifully placed shot that gave us the win. Pandemonium in the stands here at Cherry Red Cross stadium.

Also, it looks like i made my board proud. There were some rumors of me taking over Sheffield Wednsdeay so a reported approached me asking me about it and basically i said "up yours Hillsborough, im going nowhere" which made my boss happy :)

OK, so we are not even close to the half of the season and i think we already have a match of the season. I just watched my team take the lead, goes behind and retakes the lead in the 92nd minute to win the match. Absolutely crazy match where 6 goals were scored in the first half.

a.png.a78f9bd7292b368aadd957129da6d254.png

So we take the lead early in the game with my CMF scoring a beauty outside of the box and 10 minutes later ref gives a penalty for tripping which is held by my GK. What happens later is that the player which missed the penalty assists for an equalizer. Again 10 minutes of silence and a goal, my new striker helps us retake the lead away at Portsmouth. This time 10 minutes was enough for Portsmouth to retake the lead and i already thought we are going on a break behind but once more Mr. Pepple proves me wrong and scores an equalizer and his second goal of the game. Second half was surprisingly quiet and chopped up by fouls and yellow cards and once more i was quite happy with a draw but he said NO. Mr. Pepple took a beautiful powerful shot from inside the box that placed the ball behind the opposing goalkeeper for the victory and pandemonium in the stands for the away fans. Amazing away victory that brought big joy for me and the fans all together.

This is the situation on the table after 30 matches in the season. We are literally being tittle contenders after a season in the League One. Team has been playing incredible at moment and i was first literally a match a go when i suffered defeat from Peterborough, team who has beaten me three times in a row. I had troubles with scoring goals at times and u can see that with my striker who has been the best scorer in the past three seasons now has scored only 11 goals, he has not been playing constantly as a starter but still a disappointment seeing miss some of the sitters.

a.png.ee17d9514a2eaee31ec68e29dc76d4c8.pngaa.png.4b8dbe303f7371dad602c3844c29b625.png

So it is all ready for Papa Johns quarter final match clash between Man. City reserves and mighty AFC Wimbledon. All of my best individuals were ready and healthy and everything was ready for a crowd of 7.000 fans of football.

a.png.c4024cd7eda51a8d5d410d7b9bb87258.png

We are off to a flyer, my CMF and captain on this match gets us off to a great start by scoring a thumping shot from 25 metres away and everything looked like a fairy tale but not for long. My star player. Ayoub Assal gets sent off for an unexplainable tackle on the middle of the field when there was no any implications of a dangerous attack. So i decided not to change anything, tactics remained the same, mentality is the same, i just moved Aribim Pepple from his striker role to replace Assal on the AMR with Zach Robinson staying as the only striker. And it worked like a charm, and early cross from my RB was enough for Robinson to beat the keeper to the ball and increase the lead for us just before the half time.

aa.png.e6f495b9fbe1403d7f6513bffa1a1ea2.png

Heroics performance from the defense as they have not allowed our opponent to score a single goal, they had 6 shots at target and they were all saved by my GK but the performance of the match goes still to my home grown CD Paul Kalambayi. Bravo chaps.

aas.png.a216acfeecae9878ef92cf653271c508.pngadadad.png.d273f2620816dc8783118a8498ecf9fa.pngwa.png.883c93f169ba665b963a3eb5d1971007.png

aaw.png.efa109fc8b1cf5fbd7380093e1551c17.png

And my next opponent is already known, its Bristol City, 9th placed tea from League One, one of the few that has managed to beat me this season.

So one of my early stars of the club, fans player of the year Josh Davison got a bit neglected by me, there were some new signings that pushed him out of the team and he was not happy about it, so trying to keep my players happy i really wanted to make sure Davison is happy, he helped me a lot and was one of the significant players in our run for the League Two tittle. So far he has scored 53 goals for wimbledon.

brat5.png.01506b9bdab5d53c0faacb59df35ab48.png

So i approach him and ask is there anything that is bothering him and him being a loyal servant like he is all this years responds to me like this.

brat.png.1f7bb72a1d4095547546634714d4d9ba.png

So this guy won me on his side for good, lets give him a few starts and see what happens and oh boy was i not dissapointed.

Well there’s always next season, @Pearomaniac. After seeing AFC Wimbledon as high as 3rd at one point I was hoping for a promotion push. At least the Board and Supporters should be happy with that.

Good luck next season 🍀

So I’m all caught up, @Pearomaniac. You are doing a fantastic job at AFC Wimbledon.

2nd in League One and through to the semi-finals of the Pizza Trophy.

And now you’ve released Josh Davison from his exile in the Academy, and are friends again, let’s hope he scores the goals that take you and AFC Wimbledon to glory!

Good luck 🍀

This season has been amazing so far and not in my wildest dreams i would dream that we are on the verge of double crown after 4 seasons in charge. Since i lost my EFL League One match against Peterborough i have went on a raging run of five wins in a row with 10 goals score and NONE conceded. It looks like i have turned into Jurgen Klopp and my team has been playing like Liverpool in its best days. There is twelve matches left in the season and every match we play is giving me goosebumps.

forma.png.2b898c3d3c05c2cf3b03810ed962e91d.pngtabla.png.7bf5d8a49821ad5009dea887ea23a8c6.png

Our next rival in the league is none other tho my fierce rival MK Dons, getting a win against them at this moment with so much at stake would be frikin unbelivable. So far i have clashed with them 3 times and we came out as winners twice.

najava.png.50a2d66558a29f581168475b252b46dc.png

Im thinking about holding a meeting and rallying the troops, we are in comfortable lead but things can change so fast and i do not want them to become complacent, not now.

We did it, we won against MK Dons and it was such a nerve wrecking match. So many missed chances, so many yellow cards, so many cautionary subs i had to make, it was a killer but at the end we managed to get the win with the minimal score and the scorer was who else then Zach Robinson.

Manager of the MK Dons, Derek McInnes was not happy with the loss and he had some comments to make after the match and all i can say to him is "TAKE IT".

699233186_derby5.png.41f766a0bc9388d5bd1be4f95139719e.png

He might be upset with the way we played but none of the players were injured, we were penalised for the way we played, time to move on, thank you.

The moment has come, we are playing our direct rival for the League title and this is the team that i have encountered five times so far in the career without managing to beat them, they have 4 wins and 1 draw against us. Well, isnt this the perfect time to celebrate our first victory against Ipswich Town.

Ipswich has fallen!

A crowd of 1.129 away fans witnessed beautiful victory against Ipswich Town. Stadium was packed, weather was perfect for football and we played fantastically and we got probably the most important win of the season.

aaw.png.241a0e3daae9f16d8d191d88934b5d41.pngipsara.png.77bb0e087248587a7bdd929cd570ac5c.png

Zach Robinson was the one that brought the joy to everyone linked with AFC Wimbledon with a beautiful brace today. First calmly taken and placed a penalty that was made on my AML Marcus Ifill and then once more converting a beautiful chipped pass from Marcus Ifill that was placed calmly in to the small net.

ipswich.png.f759e04f96d07122bf05e7cd3c6d42ef.png

And i almost forgot my GK who just got back from his injury and at moments performed like a hero, especially when he was faced 1 on 1 chanced that he managed to save when the result was still 0:0.
