Activating a record id that isnt in a property file.. possible? or impossible

As the title says... Is it possible to activate a record id that aint in any of the properties so it works on another view?

I believe it's down to the class as i have been able to make the name to work, but only get a " - " where the data should be

i've tried so many classes and just to be sure i've quit/restart after each test change and either i get a " - " or nothing as data
