No, because their golden generation won everything. This current generation is still held to the standard of the Xavi/Iniesta generation despite not having the players to be able to play to that standard anymore.

I meant about their usual standard, not the anomaly that was their 2008-2012 squad

One has to think if he's even a good coach.

All of his jobs except for Barcelona were textbook failures.

Even at Barcelona he managed to lose the league in his last season. Won the CL in the first season, then lost twice in quarter-finals. If not for that CL win with MSN at their peak, he would've been seen as a failure there.

Everywhere else, including NT, he just looked like a coach with an idea that can't really work out. He failed to fully implement his football everywhere. Which leads to a question about if his football is even a thing without Messi and most stacked team ever?

Didn't clock but Spains WC record is really bad since winning it. Well it's bad full stop if you exclude 2010. Last 3 now, group stage, 2nd round pens to Russia and 2nd round pens to Morocco.

They're just reverting back to average. Look at Spain's record in World Cup before 2010. 1 Semi Final appearance before they won it, and that was in 1950.

And they still lost 1-6 to Brazil in the final stage (it wasn’t semis, the four teams played against each other)…
