Since my last save, had a bug, I have decided to start a new one. One that has less of an end mission and more a save that is more casual to some degree. As with all my saves, there will be some rules to make sure that I have a general direction to go in.

2ae9acd6abbc8934819249f14836fcb0.png32dd52ce59d86236631fec3da8fdedfd.png

The save will have every country and league in Europe loaded which should allow for plenty of scope for the save. The following are the rules of the save.

1.       My manager must start as usual with no badges and be a Sunday League Footballer and be of a random European nationality

2.       We must start unemployed and apply for all jobs and take the first offer that comes our way.

3.       When we are at a club, we are allowed to stay at that club for 15 years, before we must resign.

4.       While we are employed by a club, we cannot link ourselves to other jobs or apply for other jobs. We are only allowed to move jobs if we are headhunted i.e., offered by the club an opportunity to interview for the vacant manager’s role

5.       If we complete 15 years at a club we must resign and we have 1 year to find a new club, if the 1-year period passes then we must apply for all clubs and take the first offer.

6.       If we are sacked or resign from a job, we must apply for all jobs immediately and continually and take the first job we are offered.

4774d6cc4d017f62887460f70a1104bf.png

This graphic should explain the rules of the above quite well.

That is pretty much all the rules I will be following hopefully we will get a nice long career out of this.

NEW MANAGER

082452c3843fb1920c450b89822f0062.png

I have drawn the nationality of our manager and therefore we can now meet Baastian van der Heijden from Plasmolen in the Netherlands.

NEXT TIME

In the next update we will find out which was the first club to come back to us offering us a job.

The first club to officially give us an offer was Banbridge Town in the Intermediate League of Northern Ireland, which is the third tier of Northern Irish football.

We are not expected to do very well this season, as we are predicted to finish bottom of the league and that would lead to relegation, so I am keen to avoid that as I know that would lead to a sacking since we cannot go any lower.

Unfortunately the board is not very forward thinking and believe that allowing me to get a National A Licence, might mean that we leave the club.

TACTICAL OVERVIEW

7828e2fa31545c9095cfbb22bd9cbeb3.png

The general tactic we will be employing is a 4-2-4 or 4-4-2 depending on your viewpoint. In attack the formation most certainly becomes a 4-2-4 as the wingers look to make runs into the box, looking to get onto the end of a cross. Both strikers are out and out strikers looking to get beyond the final defender. The wingbacks in possession will look to get forward and overlap the wingers who are cutting infield. This should create a dilemma for the opposition fullback as to whether to track the run of the winger or the wingback. The two central midfielders are there mostly to anchor the midfield and protect the backline, but they are instructed to get onto the ball and if possible look to run with the ball forward and play in through balls and incisive passes. The centre backs will look to cover the flanks in the case of counter attack, and the last line of defence is the goalkeeper who is instructed to sweep in front of his area.

11ebac05bc83d16443a844ef44ccab36.png

In attacking positions, the phase of play might look something like this. The number 3 wingback has the ball and his job is to put the ball across the green zone in front of the goalkeeper where we have an overload of players looking to get on the end of the cross. The two midfielders will look to arrive late for any second balls or for a speculative effort from the edge of the box if the ball is half cleared by the defence. The other wingback is also looking to make a run and see if the ball is missed if we can recycle possession. The wingers and the strikers are looking to get into the green box and find a final touch or if on the wingback may look to see if the winger making the run is unmarked, for a pass into the space and a quick cutback into the box for an arriving midfielder.

33570aedf2f4da794010dc54bcbb171c.png

In defence the phase of play might look like this. The two strikers will stay on the last defender in case we win the ball back and a break can be made. The fullbacks will pick up the opposition wingers and the wingers the fullbacks. The central midfielders will look cut passing lanes and harass the opposition midfielders and to win the ball back. The centre backs will look to mark the opposition strikers, so that essentially no one is free. We will press hard, so as to give the opposition very little time to work the ball around us.

MONTHLY REPORT

It has been a month of friendlies and getting up to speed with the side. We have dipped into the transfer market, but because we have no money at all to spend on any permanent signings we have had to use the loan market to pick up players that fill the gaps in the side. We lost our first choice keeper in Liam Hunter but we were able to replace him with young Czech keeper Thomas Sustek, who should be capable enough to cover the loss. We have performed very well so far in the friendly matches, winning four of the five games and the only draw being against top division side Newry City. I think we are mostly ready for the coming season.

MONTHLY REPORT

It has been a good month, as we picked up maximum points in the league to take an early leadership in the league table. Stephen McCavitt has been pretty key to our efforts as he managed to score five goals in the month. We did exit the Bet McLean Cup in the Second Round to Ards from the division above in what was a hard fought tie, but one where we were found a little short in quality. We can see from the goal location graphic that pretty much all our goals are coming from that area where you might a ball into the box across the goal as mentioned in the tactical overview or from strikes from the edge of the box, which shows that so far our tactical aims are being met going forward when it comes to how we think we are going to create chances.

MONTLY REPORT

It has been a bad month for us, as we lost all three games in the month. We went out of the Mid Ulster Cup to Warrenpoint, which was expected since they are from the division above, but that was sandwiched in between two league losses to PSNI and Limavady United. Not what we were looking for but ultimately we probably don't have much of a team to compete at the moment. The Data Hub is showing us generally that while going forward we are creating plenty, the issue is at the back and that we are just conceding too many chances, this month being the worst example of it.

MONTHLY REPORT

Another pretty poor month for us as we only took 1 point from a potential 6 in the league and we are dropping down the league quite quickly. We did get through in the Intermediate Cup beating Cookstown Youth 4-1. Looking at the XG Table we seem to be getting pretty unlucky at the moment we should be higher up the table based on those metrics. We can only keep going and see if the form improves. We were expected to go down this season, so even at the moment we are probably overperforming against expectations

MONTHLY REPORT

Right at the start of the month, we had the above graphic that shows our defensive woes. However this month we were much better and got ourselves 4 out 6 points in the league and got through in both the Intermediate and Northern Irish Cups. We have been pretty reliant on Stephen McCavitt all season for goals and he is currently on 12 goals, which over 4 better than his XG. We have been working in the background to see what other loans we might be able to get in especially in defence and next month we should have some reinforcement which hopefully improve us at the back.

MONTHLY REPORT

I has been another pretty decent month for us as we pick up 7 points out of 12. We started off with a loss against at the time top of the table Distillery but we managed to turn the results around by the end of the month. We now sit in 4th place which has been a good improvement from September and October. Again we continue to underperform our XG, and it is mostly on the defensive side as we let in goals a bit too easily at the moment and that is harming us.

MONTHLY REPORT

We went out of both cups that were still in, which was not a surprise as played Armagh and Distillery away. However we were pretty good in the league as we picked up two wins and a draw which keeps us in 4th place in the league. One of the major reasons that we are having so many problems would appear to be our goalkeeper; Thomas Sustek who is 8.56 below his expected goal prevention, which means that he has let in 8.56 goals more than you would expect him to based on the shots against him so far this season. Poor goalkeeping is something you have do deal with in the lower leagues and it is costing us, and to be honest I don't see any easy fix as we are completely reliant on loan players for signings. This month as the mid season transfer window closed we brought in four more loanees and said goodbye to three more players. There is almost nothing we can do to stop them leaving because they are on amateur contracts and we have zero budget; at the moment we can only offer £1 per appearance, which no one would ever accept. Having said that, the players that have lost have not been key players and we can mostly do without the ones we have lost in this window.

MONTHLY REPORT

A perfect month for us as we win all three games, and move into 2nd place in the league which is a the playoff place between our league and the league above for promotion. So things are going very well at the moment as we just found a nice little patch of form. McCavitt has moved onto 22 goals, and Corey Smith has quietly move onto 17 goals as they are the two main threats for our team and both have massively overperformed their XG, which makes up for our goalkeeper massively underachieving against his XG. In other news one of our goals to become established in the league has been met ahead of schedule which is nice, and the board are proposing to renew my contract which as per the rules of the save, I am duty bound to agree with.

MONTHLY REPORT

It has been another great month for us as we won all our games including a game against top of the table Armagh. We really seem to be finding a nice rhythm now right at the end of the season. We received our youth intake and it was a good one, as we were able to instantly promote two players into the first team squad in Matthew McEvoy in goal and Brendan Rodgers at right back. McEvoy is a great talent for us as he is already a better goalkeeper than what we already had at the club and considering the issue we have been having in goal that is a great find for us. Rodgers will likely take a bit of time and be a bit more of a bit part player for now. The issue will be whether we can hope to hold on them in the next few months and years as I suspect that there will be clubs coming to poach them away from us, and I am not sure we will get any compensation. We are on a great run at the moment and we have set a few records for longest unbeaten run and longest then most consecutive wins, which is all positive. I don't think we will be catching Armagh as it is still four points to be made up but we still have a chance as we sit in 2nd place at the moment. The final piece of news this month was that we signed a new one year deal with the club, which was already on cards from the meeting we had with the board last month.

MONTHLY REPORT

We completed the season and finished in 2nd place. In the end we could not quite catch Armagh who secured the title on the penultimate weekend of the season. Finishing in 2nd place means that our season is not over, as we now have a two legged tie against Knockbreda from the division above to see if we can get promoted. It will clearly be a tough affair for us, as I am sure on paper they have the better side. In the end we broke numerous records, such as most goals and highest points total this season which a great step in the right direction.

MONTHLY REPORT

The first leg against Knockbreda more or less killed the contest after the first game as we took them apart 4-0 away. They obviously seemed to have had a tough season and perhaps morale was not the best and we took advantage of that. We would lose the return leg at home, but they were never close to beating us on the tie. So we are promoted to the Northern Irish Championship. We finally managed to convince the board to go on our first coaching course to get our National C Licence, so that should start to improve us as a manager. We also made our first signing in young Bobby Harvey who has a lot of potential and could probably already play for us. We now have a very small wage budget to work with, which means that we can also sign players other than loan players. We are unlikely to be able to keep the majority of the players that were on loan last season and they have in fact all left apart from Jaydyn Withers who has resigned for us on loan and Bobby Higgins. We will be looking at both the loan market and transfer market for players to bolster our side.

In the end Stephen McCavitt ended up the top goalscorer for the club with 31 goals and also won the best player at the club. Corey Smith, who has now left us finished on 25 goals last season and I am not sure we can tempt him back to us unfortunately. We have some retirements coming in the team as well as Darren McGrath and Kevin Anderson have decided to call it a day on their careers. McGrath barely played for us but Anderson played a fair bit and we will need to replace him. In the end it was a superb season for us, especially when we were considered as likely to go down, to finish in second place and be promoted is a great achievement in our first year on the job.

MONTHLY REPORT

June has been about transfers and we have mostly relied on loan moves again this season to attempt to improve the side enough to remain in Northern Irish Premiership. James Holland is likely to be the replacement for Corey Smith, who will partner Stephen McCavitt up front and he looks a decent enough replacement for us. He is one the players that was a permanent move to the club. Then we brought in the likes of Diego McGann, Harry Murphy, Ronan Kalla and Lewis Patterson who should be week in week out starters for us. We can still bring in more players especially from the loan market, which is generally completely free. We have mostly decided not to pay the wages to permanent moves if I don't they represent great value on the wage side, since I am unsure if we can really afford it.

MONTHLY REPORT

We brought in a couple more signings in Lee Warnock who was at the club last season and we were able to bring him in permanently for this season. He should help a lot defensively. Then we managed to get in Fra Nolan also permanently. He looks like a good striker for the team and I think he may well start with McCavitt, although I am sure Holland and McLaughlin will put some pressure on him as well. We did lose Niall Cassidy, which was not much of a loss, as he barely played last season and with Nolan and the others coming in up front we have strengthen considerably in that position.

After losing our first game to fellow promoted side Armagh, I was a little bit worried, but we have rallied very nicely by beating Dundela. The cherry on top is the huge scalp of Cliftonville in the Bet McLean Cup, as we beat them 2-1, to cause a giant killing in the Second Round. Kirk McLaughlin has started his Banbridge career nicely with two goals in the famous win. Lewis Patterson has also been brilliant in this first month of the season as he has bagged himself three goals from centre back is currently our top goalscorer.

That has moved us up to 2nd in the league, which is much better than I thought we would be doing at this stage of the season. We did exit the Mid Ulster Cup to Warrenpoint in a pretty tight affair. We managed to get our first coaching badge as a manager but the board is still very reticent to allow us to improve ourselves for fear of losing our services, which is a little bit strange considering we are hardly Pep Guardiola. We will have to pick the right moment to ask them next time. Lewis Patterson won the Player of the Month for for August, due to his goalscoring efforts from defence.

i would like to help Vilaverdense win the Taça de Portugal and get Segunda Liga title but have no chances Against Benfica or Porto to chances to play in Europa League

And onces i done with Vilaverdense maybe Manage the big 3 or maybe Braga could be better choice

MONTHLY REPORT

We are really motoring at the moment as we put together, a ten unbeaten game run. After a draw with Portadown, we managed to get three wins in the league and that has pushed us up to 1st place in the league as we look to be carrying the early season form nicely into this month. We also got through in the Bet McLean Cup beating Newington 3-2 in a pretty tight affair. In terms of team news we have been sticking with Nolan and McLaughlin up front, and McCavitt is at the moment utilised off the bench. Patterson has moved onto 6 goals this season as the centre back just can't stop scoring. Murphy has picked up three goals himself as we seem to be pretty dangerous from set pieces. We won the manager of the month award for last month and things are going very nicely so far this season.

MONTHLY REPORT

Another month is in the books and we got off to a good start this month as we won our first two matches before we lost our first game since the first fixture of the season against Loughall. We would recover to take four points from the final two league games, that would keep us in top position in the league. This month we also played in the Bet McLean Cup Quarter Final and we would lose to Larne quite expectedly 4-1. We once again won the manager of the month to make it two in row.
